  1. Ok so like I stated earlier dont think I have the redline stuff over here being from the bahamas, what oil weight what you recommend getting instead I put in Castrol 80w 90 and will putting a gearbox additive help or add to the problem?
  2. Ohh that probably was my mistake I thought I read to use a thicker oil thats why i got the 80w 90. Damn so let me get this str8 try to replace that with a thinner oil not thicker? Cus I could have sworn the tutorial said to use a thicker oil.
  3. So the only way to really get rid of the noise would be to what change the gearbox or the synchros? If I where to put in a thicker oil would that help because I live in the Bahamas and we don't carry the redline stuff.
  4. Hey All I just got a 95 r33 gts-t and I performed a service on it with the help of this forum Thanks to all and the tutorials. Until now everything about the car was great now all of a sudden I am felling a lil crunch from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd and they are the only gears I feel it in funny thing is its only when the rpm is above say 2500 if I am just cruising and I shift from 1st to second it feels normal and from 2nd to third feels the same as well but when I'm accelerting it crunches as mentioned b4. I didnt start to feel the crunch until afer I changed my gear oil as a part of the service didnt know what was in it b4 but I put in castrol gear oil 80w 90 and then I drove it a bit hard to allow the oil to work its way through the gears. Like I said I didn't notice a crunch b4 but now I do after the gear oil change during the change there wasnt any metal chunks in the oil just a a fair amount of metal shavings but the gear oil was probably ever changed b4 and i dont know how long it had been in there. The crunch is not really loud more of a feeling than a sound but if you are listening for it you will hear it. Does ne1 have any solutions for this. I read something about synchros needing to be changed but I cant afford that right now and was wondering what else would be a quick fix.

  6. Yea I know right. Same thing I told him but he insists that his civic can beat mesoImnot gonna take his car but I will take some money from him. Im gonna race him fora few hundred. His civic isn't stock he changed over the engine to a prelude engine, has a nice exhaust or it might just be the can never really looked sounds nice though, says he gat headers and he removed a few things like ac radio and says he is doing 400 hp which I know is a lie. I just have to shut him up once and for all. You have a chirp in fourth damn how much HP are you doing and what all do u have in it?

Nah not at all wanted to kno for a race I have on sunday against a 93 hatch back civic with basically a stock prelude vtec engine says he wants to race for pinks guy just basically hates skylines and wants to prove to the world tht his car is on par just wanted to kno how to do it so i could warm my tires up a bit. All my post were connected to having my car ready for sunday on the tracks thats not normal driving for me. Completely serviced here myself and wanted to kno if I had lost power anywhere, I also see we have alot of smart@$$ in the forum who kno nothing but always have a smart comment to add jetr-32, munna1, r33 racer and to u sorry no kid here just a man wanting to make sure his ride is in excellent condition to race, busky2k, limpus and the rest of the clowns. To r31 nismoid I think your question was genuine so ill let you kno tht yes i am serious from your post i thought you at least would realise its for a race. Love my ride not the kinda person to run her to deathjust want her at peak performance for what stage I am at.
  9. Hey there allsorry to hear bout Steve was great guy, "He will be missed." I just have a quick question about when a skyline burnouts. I have a 95 r33 gts-t and I want to know what gear is the best to do a burnout in 1st or 2nd. Its completely stock and whats the length the burnout should go on for it you fang it real hard also when you are driving it really hard when shiftinh from first to second if u hear a little screeching of the tires does this mean the engine is runnin well and would you normally hear tht same little burnout when shifting from 2nd to 3rd or is this just a 1st and 2nd thing remember its a completely stock skyline. Is this normal? Andif it isnt tell me wht is please. Thanks.
  10. No amp just the heads units amp and its a 95 gts-t. Switched the +ve and -ve wires still the same prob sound stays at one level no matter how high I turn the HU up. Didnt switch the rears with the fron tho may have to try tht.

    Oil

    Hey all I just changed the oil in my r33 gts-t and I was wondering how do u really read the dipstick to tell if its overfilled? On the dipstick you have L then the groved surface then an H is it filled when you reach the top of the grooved surface or is it filled when you reach the H? Just wanted ti kno cus I dont wanna overfill, hope this isn't a stupid question and yes I used the search button and no1 seems to have covered this specificpart of an oil change I just wanna be ass exact as I can, Thanks in advance.
  12. Hey would like to say a big THANK YOU to the forum and the guys in the forum that helped me with my perform my first service ever on my first car ever. My 95 r33 gts-t ran ok b4 SAU but if it wasnt for you guys i would have probably ended up spending heaps of money on a service. After SAU my skyline runs excellently all i have to do now to complete my service is coolant flush and gear oil change which i will be doing this weekend everything else is done and I did it on my own using the guides people put together in this web community. This feels great especially since I am not what u would call a car guy. Changed my head unit, stopped the annoying arial from staying up when HU powered on plus still get all stations loud and clear, changed plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter and was having idling issues after the plug change thought i mucked it up but used the forum and found out tht maybe a good aac valve and afm valve cleaning would do the trick did those today and the baby purs like a kitten and again I did it all by myself. Thanks Again SAU and believe me I will be definitely the #1 user.
  13. Hey thanks 4 the reply and there were no other wires spliced just the 53 wire and it was spliced to wht looks like a radar detector will see if i can take a pic and post it.
  14. Hey all I have a real prob here and I am wondering if any of u guys have a solution or fix. I serviced my car over the weekend by myself, "Yeah Baby!" , quite proud of myself as I am not a car guy at all thank you skylines australia. Now heres the prob with tht nothings leaking everything went back on the right place but when i start her up and have here idle i can hear a chirping noise and it wasnt there b4 my self service plus its only there on idle and to about 1500 rpm. The oil i used was castrol syntec blend 10w 30 par synthetic and i put 4 quarts back in the car. I bought 5 quatrs but only put 4 back in. Now when i pull the dipstick to check the oil ,this is now many runs later, the oil is right above the L mark now b4 you guys say well u need more oil let me explain the dipstick has L then some scratch marks then the H mark and then the dipstick groove, now the oil is by the L but also when i look further up by the groove oil is there also but none by the H. Do I need more oil or is it another prob also I went to check and see if the speedlimitter wire was cut on my r33 gts-t and I found the wierdest thing. I knew I had a radar detector in the car before it was shipped but after i picked it up from the dock thieves had cut the wires to the detector and removed the adapter for the cigarette lighter ne way i had no idea where the wires ran so i left them alone. Now as I was going to check out my speedlimiter wire i noticed the strangest thing one of the wires were spliced to the cut wire from the radar detector splice via crimp cap now the speedlimiter wire wasnt cut just spliced with it does ne1 now for wht reason and how does this affect my car? Thanks.

  17. You are absolutely correct by 4th doing about 5 or 6000rpm the speedometer is maxed out so by 5th it doesnt eve make sense lookin at the speedometer. So does tht mean the cars top speed cannot be measuredby the stock speedometer if so wht is the max speed for a 95 gts-t completely stock.

  19. I need to kno a couple of answers. Wht is a normal reading on the oil pressure guage of a stock 95 r33 gts-t for normal driving and thrashing it? 2) The heat ranges 5 6 7 what are the different temps of each plug and wht is best for a stock 95 r33 gts-t i just got the car so i thought a full service was the best to do and i changed my plugs in them from denso irridiums IK16 to ngk platinum super class gapped at 1.1mm and the heat range 5 as specified by nissan, and the car runs great will there be any side effects from this plug. If i gap them closer say at .8 mm will i get - or + side effects. Whats does running a hotter plug do to an engine please explain thouroughly? 3) What is the normal psi for the standard turbo on this car and wht does tht equal on the stock boost guage not numbers as i am not familar with the mecury mm reading just where the needle suppose to be at will do? Answer those questions for me.
  20. Question: Is redlining your car a good or bad way to drive it? Let me give the example by redlining I mean shifting at 7000 rpms. I have a 95 r33 gts-t and when i drive it the shifts between 1st and 2nd usually come at 5000 rpms, 2nd and 3rd 5000 rpms, 3rd and 4th 7000 rpms and 4th and 5th 7000rpms. I wanted to kno if this will affect my engine in a negative way. This is not everyday driving just when im in speed mode and want to remind my ride tht she still is a sports car. What do u think good or bad? All answers welcome.
  21. Hey quick question wht is the normal amount of boost u get in a stock r33 gts-t. Could you please answer in psi and also wht does it translate to on the stock boost guage? Where would the stock boost guages needle be pointin?
  22. Well I dont have anything to measure the gaps with but they look stock to me 1.1mm. Quick Question so wht do the different heat ranges do to or for the car?

  24. also i would like to kno whats better a hotter or colder plug and wht is the heat on the plug i just mentioned?
  25. Does neone kno anything about these plugs. R they good or bad for a r33 gts-t 1995. I changed my sparks to these yesterday from iridiums and now feels like the car has a loss of power. Can the plugs b the cause or plugs dont affect horsepower drastuically like tht?
