  1. Isn't it caught the second time 'hooning' and the crown owns your pride and joy?
  2. OH NO! half an hour of my life i'll never get back! sorry if this happened to any one else
  3. Hi peoples there may be some interesting viewing on Today tonight this evening concerning car hoons, I noticed in the ad that they were crushing a commodore. Oh, whats tha,t not all hoons drive imports.... really....
  4. Thats what i'm talking about. The absolute truth right there. Here here.
  5. All the politicians at the moment are out of touch. My wife keeps saying do something about, why don't you get into politics.... I really don't have the intellectual capacity for it! However, i'm sure there are many people on this site who are quite capable of making it the the political world. So instead of us all whining about how all politicians are tools, someone on here step up to the plate and try to make a difference. Please!
  6. There was an old fella at the pub the other day, on the way to the hospital at Westmead he drove in the T-WAY 4 times through a camera while trying to get to his appointment. Hew got 4 fines and lost his license. He wrote to his member for parliament and explained the situation and got off 'scott free' as he put it. Never mind that the silly old bugger couldn't read or understand traffic conditions and probably shouldn't have a license. You could give that a try.
  7. Nice one mate. That's pretty funny.
  8. Speed isn't the problem, it's the sudden stop at the end....
  9. Yeah the 6 cars are going to have to be in operation for something like 67 hours a day to be able to account for the quota promised by the state govt. The forecast is that the cameras will provide 127 million in revenue... but its all for safety when road tolls have only decreased since the 70's when increase in road users i accounted for. Yay for scare tactics!!!!
  10. Australia is behind in what way? We are such a small country, in comparison to the rest of the world, our emission output is next to nothing when compared to China. The growing trend is towards green practice across most industry, water tanks, water usage awareness, solar panels, gas/solar only hot water, fuel efficient cars and renewable fuels domestically. I thinks we're definitely headed in the right direction. If the Greens weren't so unwilling to compromise we would have some sort of policy in action on the issue of emissions. Once we do have a policy in place it won't matter, because of the high cost of labor in this country (work choices could have resolved some of these issues) and the addition of all the extra taxes to fund an ETS or whatever it will be called, it will be cheaper to import most things from overseas (China) where no such policy exists and they can keep pumping out crap into the atmosphere. I could ramble on and on about this stuff, I am in noway and expert on it i'm only expressing my views. For the first time in 10 years i'll be voting for a party not because I want them in power, but because I don't want the other's in.
  11. You only get govt contributions it you pay into super with your AFTER tax moneys. so when you get paid it back later you can pay tax on it again...
  12. Hey guys and gals, got it sorted this morning, i'm a gumby I just needed to right click instead of left click. I'm sure I did it that way the first time but obviously not. The file I needed was 6.5 meg the one i tried to open was only 2.5, who would have thought, such a small mistake huh. Cheers for all the suggestions. Matt.
  13. Hi guys trying to install e-tax 2010 and it won't work. Anyone else having troubles? It lets me download the file, but windows installer says ' The installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.' every time I try to open it. I've tried turning off my firewall and it's still not working. I'm running windows 7 if that makes any difference to the computer genius' out there. Cheers Matt.
  14. That is hilarious!!!!
  15. On red light cameras you could order a photo (at your cost, of course) and if it showed a reason that you 'had' to continue through the red light then there was a chance you could get off. You're right about having a truck up your clacker though, i'll be going through in that situation. What is the rule though, you're supposed to 'stop on an amber unless its not safe to do so' isn't it? If these cameras save lives then that is a good thing. I'd just like to see some stats on exactly how many more cars(bikes, scooters motor cycles) are on the road than the year previous and exactly how many fatalities there are? If these cameras mean that more police are able to do their job, fining even more people because a robot is doing the boring jobs, then hey i'm all for it!!!!!
  16. there is only one thing that annoys me more than driving 10-20 under the limit, thats the fools that stop 4-5 car lengths from the car in front and stop you from getting into that turning lane! GRRRRRR!
  17. You know the worst thing about this whole situation... now I have to run premium in my lawn mower.
  18. When I was purchasing my bike recently, a mate at a dealership did a 'vcheck' for me (he said it usually costs around $30 but I got it for nothing), apparently it checks that the vehcile has never been written off and it covers the whole of Australia, he also said to do a revs check to make sure theres no encumbrance and revs will only tell you if its been written off in NSW. So anyone thinking of buying a car keep that in mind.
  19. When I was on my P's I was run up the back in MCdonalds Drive-thru. The bloke wouldn't pay, letters of demand etc. I ended up claiming on my Third party property insurance they fixed my car then chased him up for the excess that I would pay for a claim. Have you tried that? It was a long time ago, I'm sure thats how I did it though. Cheers and good luck.
  20. Last time I checked the RTA is a NSW government Agency....
  21. FWIW when I did the course to do pink slip rego inspections I remember the Tafe Teacher telling us the the RTA will tell you to go to a different inspection station if that inspector won't pass your tyres, yet the cops will defect you when on the indicators....
  22. Get a solicitor. My solicitor got my case moved to a court where he knew the most lenient judge would be presiding. Asked my parents to come along to impress the judge, got me to obtain character references, driving history, write out my version of events etc etc and before the matter was heard he got 2 of 4 charges wiped before a word was spoken due to the really crappy brief the officer wrote. The officer didn't even turn up to court so my case was dismissed (cost me a hell of a lot of time and money). Good luck and I hope it works out. Just a word of advice to everyone, when questioned by an officer be aware that in most cases you can ask that you would like legal representation before you say anything. The police are experts in getting you to admit that you did something you may not have done whether it be through intimidation or otherwise. If the officer has his note book out, or tells you you're being recorded, always question whether you can consult a solicitor before answering, I had 5 minutes of questioning wiped from an officers brief due to the fact that I said "I don't think I want to answer your questions without getting legal advice". Be safe out there people.

  24. I get what you're saying in reference to constant 43psi in relation to manifold, just never seen any factory efi pump get that high( i've looked at quite a few). Obviously i'm wrong, guess you learn something new every day. Cheers. P.S for the record I did mention that I might need to be some research in an earlier post, just thought I know how it worked, i didn't, now i do. I'm always open to new info even if I am a stubborn so and so.
