  1. Seems the issues are less prevalent in newer model r35s. Might be another option for you.
  2. Ooooh 997 4s manual. Juicy. Manual GTR would be great, but I think half the marvel of this vehicle is the DCT. Once you get used to the clunking that is.

Personal import is fine- as above. I don't think you can import them and register them here, excluding the ones that were imported before Nissan released them here in Australia. Obviously you can import as track car.
  4. Thank you kindly for the advice. I am getting them thoroughly checked on Saturday, so I'll take pics and then write to Nissan (I'm assuming head office?) if there is an issue there. I think that might be the case, as haven't had this problem in the past. Cheers.
  5. Hey guys, How much squeaking/screeching is normal with these cars? I'm told by Nissan that brakes are not covered under warranty because the car is a super car (I think that's very easy to challenge legally, but I'll leave it for now). My GTR has been making a lot of noise at low speed and when coming to a stop. Nissan insist that this is normal due to the iron in the brakes...but I'm not so sure it is. Didn't have this issue with my old car. Frankly it is a bit embarrassing. I know I keep comparing to other companies lol, but when I had the same problem with my Range Rover Sport, JLR changed the brakes under warranty and the sound vanished and they're still going strong....had the same issue with old BMW X6, BMW did the same. Changed the brakes, sound vanished. Incidentally, every time it has happened, it happens early on in the car's life (less than 5000kms). Maybe I'm just a bad driver and kill brakes? Thanks all.
  6. I didn't go from R34---> R35, but the last GTR I owned prior to an R35 was an R34. You won't regret it. The cars feel very different. The R35 is obviously much quicker, handles better and has more modern comforts. The R34 feels like a dinosaur in comparison. The reasons for wanting an R34 are well listed in the other thread. Everything else points to the R35... (DO IT). So yes, I would say it is a much better car overall. I haven't had any issues with the transmission, either with my previous 2012 or 2014 black edition. That said, I think it is more of an issue for the 09-11 models.
  7. Think you mean $1000 ono lol..... GLWS of parts.
  8. Hi guys, This item is no longer for sale, as it was stolen from the workshop where it was being stored along with other exhausts for M cars and AMGs. Cheers, Ali
  9. Hi all, Having recently changed from a 2012 GTR to a 2014 Black Edition GTR, I found out the hard way that my Meisterschaft that was fitted on the 2012 was incompatible with the 2014. After some research, I decided to go for the IPE exhaust. Full system includes cat bypass pipe, y link, midpipe and valve control muffler. I must say, the exhaust note is excellent. Very loud with the valve open, comparatively sedate with the valve closed. A little bit of rasp and a little bit of drone, but nothing excessive. Additionally, you can use the valve control remote to set the system on "AUTO". This opens the valve when under heavy throttle and closes it at all other times. Overall I'm very happy and would highly recommend this exhaust to R35 owners. Feel free to ask any questions here or via PM. Cheers Ali
  10. Wheels look amazing! Nice colour too.
  11. It would be good if all R35 owners could contribute to this site in a positive manner and if there were less spam/stupid threads as well. There's no reason why we can't turn this section into a wealth of information as per other SAU sub-forums. For that we need people contributing. The for sale section also has the opportunity to thrive and it would be good if we got suppliers/tuners contributing too.
  12. Yeah like to mix it up. What you driving these days bruv? Had some initial issues with it, but now its good. Thirstiest car I've owned to date though.
  13. Parked nice and safely lol.
  14. Very good. Power was linear and it was a fair bit quicker than the e93 m3 that I replaced it with. Best of all, it wasn't too expensive, all up it cost around 3 to 3.5k including labour. Yeah the e90s look a bit dated now. That said I've seen some nice examples...
  15. On my old 335i, I had: JB4 Downpipes. Air filters. Charge pipe. Meth kit. That got it to exactly 300rwkw. If you have the n54 engine, just get ready for HPFP and Injectors to die lol....
  16. lol at superiority complex. The GTR always has been and always will be the poor man's supercar. That's coming from someone who has owned every GTR to date and I currently own a 14 Black Edition. That doesn't detract from how amazing GTRs are. If you need a vehicle to define yourself or validate your existence, you have bigger problems in life. Don't forget there is a Lambo forum somewhere where Aventador owners laugh at GTRs, Ms and AMGs....
  17. Brand new about 100k...and that's expensive by their standards.
  18. Is 2016 the Australia release year though? We're usually at least 6-12 months behind.
  19. Hi guys, Sold my 2012 GTR and bought a 2014 Black Edition. Unfortunately, the exhaust the 2012 GTR had fitted is not compatible with the 2014 Black Edition. It will fit all 2011-2013 models (excluding black edition). Accordingly, I have for sale a full GT Haus Miesterschaft Titanium (lighter and more expensive than stainless steel) system. Includes mid-pipe/y-pipe, muffler etc. The complete system was on the car for 10 months. Have had no issues. In terms of sound, it is very loud and aggressive, YouTube is your friend in this regard. These chase a fair bit of coin especially with the weak Aussie dollar. I'm prepared to sell it as a package, all up for $4000. Exhaust is in Melbourne, but I can ship interstate at your expense. Let me know via PM, post in this thread or contact me on my mobile phone number: 0404 723 6230404 723 6230404 723 6230404 723 623, if you're keen to purchase. 20. I think everyone that has actually owned both has said r35...you really can't compare them in terms of performance and they're priced differently accordingly. Only reason to go for the R34 is probably sentimental value, childhood dreams, gangsta looks etc. Oh and the stick shift.
  21. Had an e93 m3 as a daily until I recently replaced it, perfectly fine vehicle for daily use but not in the same performance league as a GTR. Has anyone driven the M4 yet? Like the look of them and can't go wrong with twin turbo. They weren't out when I was looking at buying recently though.....
  22. Nothing as exciting as turning all the R switches on and letting it rip.
  23. Interior is nothing special in the r35 (but I guess I'm comparing to Euro cars I own/ I have owned). They had to cut costs somewhere lol....and it is by no means a comfy car, but would still be comfier than the R34. Best of luck with your future decision, you can't go wrong either way!
  24. Have owned an R34 GTR in the past (was not heavily modified) and currently own a 2012 GTR with basic mods (exhaust, air filter, cobb tune etc). They're very different cars, the R34 had a more raw, old school feel. Tuning potential is good for both, but better for the r35. The r34 is obviously a dated car now however. The R35 is a much better platform to begin with and there is no way I would ever go back to an R34 (have no real need/want for 'old school', much rather prefer modern technology and so on). I'd say in terms of sound, the induction sound is better in the R34, exhaust note is better on the R35 (i'm running a meistershaft), it sounds much louder and more exotic. So it is pretty much exactly as you describe, do you go for old school, or do you embrace tech and move forward with a better car that makes more power, easier. If i had to choose between the two, I would pick an r35 any day of the week. But I'm biased.....maybe I'll feel differently in 10 years time.
