Kery Packer...well That Is A Surprise.
IOWNU replied to godspd's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Well, the man obviously had good taste. -
Bit steep I reckon. You can get a "good job" for around 4-5k. If you pay anything more than that, expect a Show Car job. Ofcourse, it helps to know someone in the industry for mates rates.

NS.com isn't that bad, you can pass your time on there. But yeah, too many people without cars or stupid views. LoL but it's funny when little kids argue about their 180s/Silvias beating "fully race preped" GTRs, being able to keep up in launch because they have big heavy 19inch rims for traction......hehe.

well im 20 and still at uni so don't have a job as such..... My parents bought my cars initially, then i started importing cars for myself through my uncle in Japan and if i can find a nice bargain of a car in japan, i usually sell the car i have at the current time, import it, keep it for a bit, if i get a decent offer, i sell it, but not neccessarily. Hence the list of previous cars....... Good fun as well.....

Love that colour....and those rims. Nice car.

I'll give you a hint guys. He's in a hurry to sell, so he's negotiable. You won't get a good looking car like this, at this price ever. -

Supra Na, S2 R33 Na, R32 Gtst (2 Or 4door)
IOWNU replied to TRMN8R's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Nope mine is blue with bronze rims. Speaking of which, my cousin is selling his GTO at the moment, its also blue, but its non turbo and auto. Here's the link.......just in case you're interested. It would cost you the same as those other cars, he wants to get rid of it so might be negotiable. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=101828 Sorry about the shameless plug -

Supra Na, S2 R33 Na, R32 Gtst (2 Or 4door)
IOWNU replied to TRMN8R's topic in General Automotive Discussion
R32 GTST. 2 door. You'd want a turbo car. And you don't need 4 doors, unless you have a family. -
It all depends on your budget/preference. If you get an R32, like everyone has said, get one in good condition overall, my guess would say around the 25k mark for no dramas. That said you can get cheap ones for 20k, but it'll hurt when it needs a full rebuild etc. R33 GTR.......you'd have to spend at least 35k for a decent once. So it comes down to budget and preference. IMO it's not worth spending another 10k for what is essentially the same car, if you can find an R32 in very good condition. Personally, I don't like the R33 shape, so I went for the 32. Although the 33s have much nice interiors and will have less wear and tear.

Mate, I'd do what you think is right yourself. Not what other people think is right. I'm 20 now, i've owned about 8 import cars since i was 16, 7 of them have been turbo. Until i was 18, everything was fine, i had to drive with an adult (On my Ls) so i was never allowed to thrash the car. First night i got my Ps, i went out with a few mates, storm hit, it was pouring bucketloads. Never had experience with that much rain in my driving to date. I came around a corner in my R33 GTST, lost it completely, almost hit the car 3 times in the few seconds i had lost it, missing the kerb/pole, parked car and a tree. Never again. I learnt my lesson, learnt to to control the car properly, learnt that turbo cars deserve respect and should not be messed around with foolishly, under the influence of your friends. Since then, i've been fine, maybe a few close calls, but other than that no dramas. I must admit i do some stupid things now and again (i'm not going to pretend that I'm 100% law abiding), but hey young people will do that. So long as you know your limits. If you want a fast car, get it. But make sure you respect it.

Buying A Skyline, Advice Appreciated
IOWNU replied to Arky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
His budgets 30k....why should he get an R33 GTST? Unless ofcourse he has preference for an R33 over 32s/34s. I'd get either a R34 GT-T.....or an immaculate 32 GTR. GTR if you want better performance. GT-T if you want a newer car with a much nicer interior. Wouldn't bother with a 33 GTR for 30k either. -
Well that would have been the case, if the laws were still in place. But as of January 1, DOTARS stopped issuing import approvals for 15yo cars, i.e 1991 and onwards. You can still import under this rule, but only older vehicles. So yeah, now R32s can only come in through the RAWS scheme and only a few workshops have plates at the moment, i think only in QLD/NSW. Which means, people will ultimately be importing less R32s as it would cost pretty much the same as importing an R33.
-
Well, it depends on what you want. I know someone who's had a standard rebuild for 4k, all he wanted was his stock engine working again and to continue to work without any hassles. Ofcourse if you're building a track car you're going to need to spend big. But for a standard, good rebuild, i don't see why people should spend so much.
-
lol.....man the 15yo rule is over. You're bit behind with the times  If anything, 32s will hold value until more of them start coming in.

Info On R32 Gtr Plz
IOWNU replied to Ministry_of_speed's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
34 GTR rims look so hot on 32s. I might have to get some myself. Looks like they fit perfectly. -
In terms of all round value, the R33 GTST would be the go. I've owned both, the R33 is slightly quicker, has a better engine (you may find the RB20 torqueless), is more practical, better handling, better interior. Looks are perhaps the only thing questionable, some ppl reckon they look to0 big. But..i like all Skylines. So in terms of investing money, the 33 would be the smarter choice, less money for a newer car, plus because of the high number of them going around, the prices are very low at the moment.
-
I'd go the R33. Best engine out of the lot. Best interior as well. Looks pretty good as well.
-
$10,000 is too much. Unless you want to build a much stronger engine for more power. But as above, basic rebuilds, you can get done for around $4000.

IOWNU replied to {AMO}'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
haha bad. $14,800 for a series 2! They're depreciating so fast, just too many going around at the moment. It is white though lol.......
