What Did R33 Gst-t's M-spec Cost Brand New?
IOWNU replied to fEkuaR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yup, at todays exchange rate though. If you want to know how much it was worth "at the time" it was released then you'd need the exchange rate from back then. -
Pretty much what most people have said. Drive well, you win. Drive bad, you loose and badly. Seems like you know how to launch though, so i'd say you're pretty safe.

IOWNU replied to fEkuaR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey mate. A Series 1, manual, turbo verison cost about 281.1 ten thousand yen. If you're after a series 2, or auto info, check out this site, has pretty much prices/specs for all Skylines. http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/se...n&model=Skyline Peace. -
Yeah seen a few of those pics before. You'd probably have less people trying to run from the cops as well.....

Importing An Engine From Japan

^^^ That is SOOOOO Off topic but anyways... Select a forum, then click on the newtopic option to make a new thread. Once you're making the new thread, you can add a poll, pretty straight forward. Looks like you've worked out how to quote. -
Hey everyone, Basically interested in importing an R34 GTR RB26 engine from Japan. I've already got an FOB price on it in yen, was wondering if i'd have to pay any customs/duty on its arrival? Also, I assume there's a way to keep these taxes at a minimum? I'm probably going to buy it this week sometime as i need it in a hurry! Thanks.

Thanks for that!

LoL. How do people manage to dig up these threads?

LoL...well I'm nowhere near becoming a Lawyer yet! I'm only in 2nd year, I have another 3 years to go (double degree though Law/Commerce @ Deakin Uni in Melbourne.) Ofcourse knowing the law has its advantage, especially if you run into some bastard cop, like that Poptart guy everyone always raves and rants about in Vic. I suppose the main advantage is that you can prevent a cop from coercing you into saying something you wouldn't. I think the best way to deal with a cop is, at first, behave nicely, be polite and if he treats you like a criminal, that's when you rip out the law. Peace.
-
Abuse of power. Even if you know your rights (being a Law student i pretty much do) the police officer ALWAYS wins. That's a fact. They can always "fabricate" the truth to their advantage and if things do end up in court, i doubt a magistrate would make a big issue about a cop being too strict or abusing his power on some "P Plater import driving hoon" IMO, the best way to stay out of trouble with the cops is to co-operate. If you act like a smartass with the "accroding to section bla bla bla" it just pisses them off more. If you comply with them, i think you'll find that a lot of cops can be nice guys. If you challenege their authority, that's when you end up with a canary, in most instances the cop would have let it slip, UNTIL you thought you'd go all smartass lawyer on him. Smile, be polite and you'll come out in a better position.

Try some 2nd hand import dealers. They'll rip you nice though. Ofcourse, if you're desperate you can put the car at a price that nobody would be able to resist.

Getting Back Into A Skyline, Looking For An R34!
IOWNU replied to Bleach1's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey mate, I have owned both cars, they are VERY similar. In terms of performance, the R34 is slightly quicker, handles slightly better. But if you sit in an R33, then sit an R34 10mins later, you can tell that you are simply sitting in a newer "cosmetic" version of what is essentially the same car. Fuel economy for me, was pretty much the same as the R33. That said, the R34 looks crazy. So go for it. -

Lots of people have told me that. But I'm a fan of the bling. LoL...if i can find some nice, non-chrome rims i'd be sure to get them though. -

IOWNU replied to IOWNU's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Car is now sold....a deposit has been placed on the car. Pending final payment. -
Thanks guys, I WAS looking in the right spot, but there was all this crap on top of the number, which made it even hard to see. Washed it off with degreaser and its all sweet. Thanks again. Ali.

Hey guys, Tried searching, but couldn't find anything. Bascially trying to locate the engine number on an R32 GTR. I know it's on the LHS if you're standing in front of the car, that's it. Appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction! Pics maybe? Thanks Ali.

^^^ LoL can't blame Vicroads for being suss though. It's good that you ended up getting the plates eventually.
-
So true lol... I didn't even think Porsche..i was thinking September 11....lol. But yeah, I'm surprised they didn't deem those plates as being "offensive"

Painting The "skyline" Bit On The Back/ Rims 4 Car
IOWNU replied to IOWNU's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Hmmm, might paint it chrome, silver or bronze with rims to match. Didn't think of that, I reckon it would look awesome. At the moment i'm thinking chrome with chrome rims.... Probably won't leave it, dunno why lol. Didn't paint it myself, got it done from a proper panelshop. Also we've got all the badges, just haven't glued em back on yet...except for that diamond at the front, don't like it, so that stays off. I've seen GTR badges on the front grill before...might do that. Or leave it. Thanks for the responces guys. Ali. -
Hey guys n girls. Well i'm not usually one for asking people questions about what to do to my own car, but this one has me a bit stumped. Recently I painted my R32 GTR purple with red pearl, the bit that says "SKYLINE" at the back has sort of blended in with the colour of the car.......I dunno, but I want to either get it to light up (read about doing it a while back on here) or paint it a colour to stand out. What colour do you guys reckon would stand out on it? Some people have suggested yellow, light blue. Also, while I've made this thread, might as well ask what sort of rims would go well with the colour. I bought 19inch rims for it, but to my dismay they didn't fit! I returned them to the person I bought them off, but am in the market for some more now, as the stock ones on this colour look terrible. I like 19s or 18s at the least. Then foglights are gonna go, i'll lower it, expose the FMIC and that would be all for looks. Not sure on this one, any tips or ideas would be great! Here are some crappy pics i took off my phone (car looks jacked of its ass coz the engine was out) Thanks, Ali.
