Hey guys, Well I've think I've matured as a driver enough now to begin modifying my GTR, turbos, engine, intake. A couple of question about bottom ends? I have been offered a bottom end that apparently is from one of those cars that used to race at Bathurst..... Firstly.......is that sort of thing legal? What are the rules in relation to modifying a cars bottom end? Secondly.......cost, how much should it cost? I have no idea. HOw can you verify that it is indeed one of those bottom ends? Thirdly.....Would it be wise to purchase if it genuinely a bathurst bottom end? Now alternatively, my performance mechanic suggested that I use a RB30 bottom end.....apparently that's illegal, but he said no one could find out unless they open the engine, as he said he would 'stamp' RB26 numbers on it? Whats goin on here? Anyone experimented with RB30 internals before? Any info would be great guys...... Regards, Ali

That doesn't make sense. If a person's parents are wealthy, then so are they, assuming that they are still dependent and haven't been disowned. Essentially, this is what you have just said: "He's not wealthy....his parents are." That sounds like a very jealous statement, yet you don't even know him. If he has money good for him, if he doesn't that's his loss, no point turning green with envy in front of the computer screen.

OK....if he's lying, that's really his own loss. If he's telling the truth, then all you can do is congratulate him on his purchase. There's no need for people to go on about parents not buying there kids cars, house whatever. Yeah, because the GTR is AWD it means it launches better. But on low revs they tend to bog down.......still hammer a s15 though flipknot.

I like the lights.....looks S15ish

Answers: GTR R34 overpowers and out performs the s15 easily. Skyline GTR has better handling. GTST is not far behind......

:confused: You're trippn.....are you high or something? OK.....mod for mod a s15 would beat a GTST. That's for sure. Stock on stock......probably qikr the 32 and 33 GTSTs but not a GT-T GTR? The car is a another league, the GTR blows the doors of the silvia. I find it hard to believe that a s15 handles, brakes, corners better then a GTR, especially with the GTRs AWD system. GTR outhandles an s15 any day. The GTR is the pinnacle of Nissan Performance Vehicles. :flamer:

LoL i clicked on this thread coz i initially thought someone had gone thorugh the liberty of physcially removing the turbo from your engine bay! I was like wth? y would they do that. Makes more sense now......was tripn out for a bit. Man that's low. Although there are heaps of stock GTR turbos floating around, should be able to pick one up relatively cheap....

yeah i thought that, from my experience, looks like the timing on that car is whacked. Hopefully resolve the issue this week......thanks for ur ongoing help SiksII

OK another development.....we both have exams right now so haven't had time to check anything in detail....but now the car is very difficult to start, and very difficult to keep idle. Quite often it stalls, 90% of the time when started it just coughz, doesnt rev well, heaps of black smoke comes out the back!!! worried....

Rotarties are the go........very responsive to mods, but also very high maintenance. ATM i've got a Series 5 13BT RX7.......although its pretty much sold as I can't be stuffed with it....lol
