  1. Sure. So "was" the r33. So you're not really making a point are you? If you don't like R32s fair enough man, I like Skylines in general, including R33s. But you can't rant on about R32s being no good becuase they're old. In that case the only Skylines that are new are R34s....see it doesn't really make sense?
  2. LoL...I have a dvd, therefore that race represents all R32s as a whole. What are u on about man? I don't know what one off race ur talkin about, but the 32 was the king of the JTC...and ever heard of bathurst? GTR 32s are officially the quickest out of all series, followed by r34 and last r33. Also, I still don't think there are anywhere as much 32s, as 33s on the road. BTW R33s are also old cars now. In the end though, when you are comparing GTST's, i'd go the 33. GTRs are in different league altogether.
  3. Having arab mates (yes they're not arabic, that's the language they speak) with bad morals still doesn't support your belief that this behaviour has been passed down from previous generations from lebanon (where this behaviour is fully acceptable ofcourse..) It's good to see that you don't want to change my opinion, because I haven't tried changing yours, I've just told you whats wrong with it. Everything i have said relates directly to the topic, in case it is beyond your recollection, the topic IS about Lebanese youth and imports. LoL, don't like Lawyers? Tough luck, you're gonna need them and you ARE going to pay their excessive fees as well, whether you like it or not. All I'm trying to say that the behaviour of the Lebanese youth in the ACA report was obviously becuase of reasons, other than cultural upbringing. If you feel that this is not the case, that's great, after all you ARE entitled to your own opinion, no matter how fallacious and uninformed it is.
  4. Firstly, I agree with you mostly. I heard about the knives law being passed in NSW....but I'm not too familiar it, as I'm based in Vic. Yes, the police are responding to media pressure, but don't you think that their responce is either non-existent some days and excessive the next. There needs to be a balance. I understand your point regarding defects and such, but you must take into account that some of the things people are being defected for these days are absolutely ridiculous, in most instances (from my experience and that of my mates) the police officer will check the car for everything and then defect over something minor, as if they're trying to display their power, or authority. NSW and Victoria are the two most over-regulated and policed states in the world, so maybe the authorities should just tone it down a little. Yes the police do only what they are told to do, plus a lot more. BTW, not all police, as some i've come across are really nice, but unfortunately, most are pricks. The cops can continue to target imports for defects, but in the end, I can't see people refraining from modifying their cars, lebanese or aussie.
  5. :flamed: Yeah I did say in school.....the whole point was to show how simple it is, that even children know not to generalise. But unfortunately, it was beyond your capacity to understand that. Doesn't matter, one day you'll learn to understand simple facts. Don't feel bad though, society needs stupid ppl like yourself. :kick: :flamed:
  6. :bs!: That's just stupid. What do you mean 'because it is acceptable over there.' That sort of behaviour isn't accepted anywhere. Also, morals passed down? WTH. Equally as stupid. LoL And that sort of behaviour stemming from their origins? That's just like me saying that all Aussies are convicts, because their morals have been passed down from their past generations and stem from their origins. Doesn't sound well thought does it? Your statement lacks common sense and substantiation. You should really think before you speak, or in this case, type.
  7. First of all, I'm not lebanese, nor am I an arab (that may seem hard to believe but i'm being honest, LOL) In highschool, it is continually stressed that "Generalisations are bad" or "Do not generalise." I see this as the most common flaw in a lot of arguments here. Yes, SOME lebanese individuals tend to behave in an inappropriate manner, as do SOME aussies and asians, etc. So, yeah, the lebanese guys in the ACA report were idiots full stop, but not all lebanese people are. The media is always going to be against the enthusiasts. It's all about ratings. A story about car hoons would get plenty, as would a story about disgruntled lebanese youth, but what about a combination of both?? bingo. It is necessary to understand that the media will ALWAYS be biased towards its own viewpoint. I can vouch for the fact that the police are quite troublesome. Some are good guys, but the majority are just annoying. This where it is good to know your rights (as a law student I've come to learn of them .) Basically they can't search you. You do not have to answer any questions besides, your name, details etc. They cannot search your car, unless you pose an obvious risk to society (get-away car) or if they are looking for a radar detector. The bottom line is that racial vilification is unacceptable, as is crude behaviour towards the police, moreover, these side issues do not help the Japanese Import car scene, in fact, they are detrimental to society as a whole.
  8. LoL....what is he a doctor? :jk:
  9. Go the RB26, mainly coz it was made for Skylines.
  10. Better than any holden or ford ute....thats for sure !
  11. Good point. But lets remember that MOST gtsts are modified, so exceed the power to weight ratio anyway. Yes a GTR is illegal to drive, but then again, so are most GTSTs. Even if i bought a stock GTST, i would modify it, so ends up being the same thing. Oh yeah and about the consquences, I'm willing to accept bear them. If there's something I can't meet, I'm sure my old man will ;-)
  12. I drive a GTR on my Ps as well, and I've got the same opinion as above. Most of the time cops, even if they pull you over, don't bring up the power to weight ratio. GTS-4 vs GTST....i'd go the GTS-4 simply coz its better for launching and you'll have more traction after mods.
  13. Could be a short circuit in your electrics, or maybe, your ignition switch....or maybe even something as simple as a disconnected battery. Doesn't sound major. Ali.
  14. U want 2 sell an STi and buy a GT-T? What's wrong with u man! LoL ;-)
  15. Hey, than for the info....im in Melbourne though! So won't go through the effort of getting it sent to QLD or WA Still can't find any1 doing 90s in Melb.
  16. Hey man, thanks for the help. Yeah only the 100 series can be complied in Melbourne (Glams Groups) but not the 90 series. So im very upset.....lucky i ddnt buy the car though! Cheers ALi
  17. That is nice....all that's left now is compliance and registration. Good Luck.
  18. Arr...i just heard if its a 90 series it can't be imported. Only a 100 series.......waiting on the vin number to confirm the series.
  19. hmm. i don't know much about it. Anyways.....the same question but for the above car....how much are they going for in the market...the 90series?
  20. Meanwhile we're on the subject of chasers I need some info in regards to this matter: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...775#post1361775 That's a link to the relevant thread.
  21. Hey guys, Any ideas where I can get compliance for a MarkII Chaser in Melbourne, and how much it costs? Its a 96 model. Pics below.
  22. Yeah that's right! Depends though whether the TPA/FTA apply, i'm not sure, does this constitute trade or commerce? The car: LoL..is it a Onevia that isn't a genuine onevia? Or im guessing a CA18/SR20 conversion thing.
  23. Hey guys, I've imported a few cars for my personal use, particularly since the 15 year old rule came and went and been to japan recently. The only reason I imported direct was because I knew the exporter in japan very well, you could say he's almost relative, so there is some sort of 'trust' between us. Put yourself in the shoes of a car dealer in japan, who has some sort of a deal with an importing company in Australia. You live in a small town, about an hour and a half out from the nearest sea-port. You have a 90 GTR, GTST, 180sx, RX7 bla bla bla, you sell the GTR. Towing the car to the wharfes costs more than driving it there. Driving it there can be fun, especially considering its a GTR. You thrash the tired old car for what its worth (as if the poor thing hasn't been thrashed enough!) Stuff breaks. But it's no longer your problem. Car dealers in japan really neglect these already neglected cars. That's why, when they EVENTUALLY get to Australia a lot of people complain. They're slack. Either he burnt the clutch himself or it was already burnt and he politely forgot to mention it in the facts. They grab a deposit, then screw you over. When you think about the amount of competition in the market now, importers aren't making too much money. Just buy local. It saves time and money, and ofcourse, there's the 'try before you buy' factor.
  24. Wow. That is impressive.
