Hey Roy, you can't receive more PM. I live in Chermside which is quite close to Virginia - if you want your friend can give me a ring and come round over the weekend, otherwise I'm usually home after 6 during the week. IC shroud is yours for the taking but already got the other bits set aside for someone. Jimmy, I can post you the storage thing if you want - probably cost about $5
-
Someone has asked for the exhaust and plastic intake bits also.

Bumper inserts are gone PS Contact number is 0400441986

Car is sold and delivered, thanks to everyone who showed interest.
-
Haha you offering? I've got the $3000 I asked, if someone wants to pay more they're welcome, but just want to stop the "Still for sale?" sms's all day
-
Currently have an offer that I will proceed with pending confirmation of stock availability of a new car and finalising inspection/arrangements with the buyer. I will confirm if sale is final, but no new offers at this stage please.

Hey all, Sorry for the delay in pictures, here is a selection of the surprisingly few photos it turns out I have. Note this is prior to FMIC install which is fairly subtle but required some cutting of the bumper (i.e eliminating the vertical section and trimming of the lower horizontal part). One other thing I realised has been done in the last few months is top and bottom radiator hoses have been replaced, also rego is QLD til July 29. Edit: Also forgot - has Exedy heavy duty clutch, 2-way pager alarm. I will be negotiating a new car tomorrow, and will (hopefully) make a decision on what to do with the car thereafter. FYI, current offer under consideration is $2900.

Yeah June QLD rego

Yeah we discussed RB20 and Rb25 with very rough estimates, I'm still undecided but thought as a first step I'd get an idea of any interest on here selling as is. Are you interested out of curiosity or potentially buying it and getting it done? Also, in case I overestimated the intelligence of people on here, or they can't read the first post - the head gasket has blown, which is a bad thing. The car is not drivable unless you want to further destroy the engine, and will require either a new engine or significant work done to replace and recondition the current engine. If this is not apparent to you, then this is not the car for you. If you understand this and wish to purchase the car, grow some balls and make an offer like our South Aussie friend above. If you ask what my best price is, you won't get a reply. I brought some recent photos from home but my work computer doesn't want to read the hard drive so will post them from home.

Hey Oscar, thanks for your reply and certainly no rudeness in your offer, its good to have at least some indication of interest. I think I'd really need to get closer to $3000 or it would be more worthwhile putting an engine in an selling it based on initial cost estimates, but I will get back to you if things change. Here is an old picture that I've been able to pull off facebook:

So I was just about to get a new car and put the skyline up for sale when the head gasket blew, so wondering if anyone is interested in taking it as is? Would be suitable for RB25 upgrade or anyone who has the time and space to work on it themselves. Car is in Brisbane, currently sitting at Mercury Motorsport. I can send pics if anyone is actually interested. Details:1989 HCR32, 2dr coupe, white. About 160,000km. Sunroof Antilock Brakes Exterior:White multispoke Sparco 16" rims, front tyres are about a month old (Toyo). Rears are older but still deep tread. The usual looking Type-M-Spec side skirts and spoiler, paint in fair condition for over 20 year old. Dark tint. Mods:ARC FMIC, Turbotech boost controller, JJR split dump pipe, X-force Cat, Kakimoto cat-back. Was making 162kW with Nistune. Interior:Retrimmed steering wheel about 1 year ago. Replaced gear and brake boots. Black Nismo knob. Boost gauge in drivers air vent. Pioneer CD player with audio jack. Things done recently: Air con serviced this year; coil packs are a couple of years old; rocker cover, exhaust and turbo gaskets all just replaced, shocks were replaced when I bought it in 2007. Hoping to get a few grand for it if anyone is interested before I have to look at putting a new engine in to sell it. Any recommendations on a parts/wrecker/wholesaler that pays decently for such cars is welcome. Vaughan 0400441986 [email protected]

Totally agree it was a waste of time. I went for the first time a year or two ago, and said at the time I was pleasantly surprised how many nice cars were there - as I had expected it to be pretty crap. This year was exactly how I thought it would be the first time - the only cars I really liked were the I WIN r33 and the MISS2J supra - and they were there in the same trim as last time (not having a go at the owners - just pointing out that nothing new had come along in the meantime). I didn't even take the camera out of the case.

Active Spoiler - $50 I am selling the active front spoiler from my R32 GTS-t. This is the lip that sits up behind the front bumper and lowers down at speed to reduce under-car airflow and improve aerodynamics. When attached in my car, the spoiler would drop down automatically at 70km/h and retract at 50km/h. It is white, but very dirty and could easily be repainted to colour match if you are pedantic as it will not be really be seen anyway. I have removed it only due to FMIC install. For sale is the spoiler and two motors that mount it to the car. How you will make it work is up to you. I assume that if it was not fitted from the factory it will not have the plug near the front right headlight to connect to, so the best bet would be to make it work manually with a switch inside the car. This item is pick up only from Brisbane north side. Pod filter Unknown brand, 3" diameter and quite large. $20 Pod filter adaptor Converts 2.5" to 3" and has a bracket for securing. Not sure what it is made to suit. $FREE I have also been asked to get rid of 4 old brake rotors and pads before we move in a month. If anyone wants em for whatever reason, they're yours. Contact Vaughan on 0400441986 or PM.

Its a Boomerang Alpha-2002. One other thing I noticed last night is that if I push the arm/disarm button while the key is in and engine running, it actually locks/unlocks the doors which it didnt used to.
-
Hey all, I recently switched my old Pioneer CD player for a newer model, and since then my alarm has been behaving strangely. The alarm has a built in turbo timer. After I pull the key out, the alarm chirps and indicators flash when I shut the door for the first time (This didnt used to occur). If I then open the door and close it again it doesn't do it, but if I wait until the engine shuts off and then open the door and shut it, it chirps again the first time after the engine stops. Also, sometimes when I disarm the alarm, the remote makes the noise indicating the car has unlocked but nothing happens at the car's end. Then a second later, the remote makes the noise it makes when you arm the alarm. Also sometimes the car does unlock but there is a fraction delay. I don't know whether this could have something to do with wiring up the new stereo or just coincidence, any ideas on what might cause this sort of thing?

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them

Looking at some options for 225/50R16 on the back end: Nankang NS-2 $125 Federal 535 $135 Toyo TEO $154 Toyo Proxes 4 $175 I had a chat to a guy from Tyrepower on the phone (who quoted me for the Toyo's), he said the TEO is mostly as good as the Proxes 4, just doesn't perform as well in the wet. He also quoted me for Kumho KU25 ($142) and Falken ZE912 ($155) but said the Toyo's were far superior. Any comments or other suggestions? Federal 595 is not available in this size. I mainly do commuting, but want something that will be fun when i go for a twisty drive. Currently have BF Goodrich G-Force Sport on the front, which replaced Federal 535 (couldn't tell a difference when changed). I can't remember what's on the back at the moment - nothing special - haven't changed them since owning. I think they are called Blue Streak. -
Hey all, I will soon be installing a FMIC on my HCR32, necessitating the removal of the active spoiler. I know people are keen to buy them and put them on their cars, so what has to be sold with it in order to make it work on another car? I assume you can't swap the whole system as a plug and play unit - because the wiring on the donor car would eventually become untraceable and I would think that the receiving car wouldn't have a place for the switch and motors to plug into anyway. I am interested to hear from anyone who has sold one of these or anyone has bought one. Have you just sold the spoiler and motors and left it to the buyer to figure out how to operate it, or can it be installed to operate automatically as usual, with the switch as well? I don't want to be dodgy and flog it to someone who thinks it is going to bolt up and work if it isn't the case...

I read once that you can only get them from Nissan and they charge something ridiculous like $16 per unit. I haven't actually inquired at Nissan because if it's even half that its not worth it to me. I have looked for the one pictured, and the ones with the shorter stem, and the little twist-in ones at Repco/SCA/Autobarn/Jaycar but none of them have em, the best bet would probably to try to get some from a wrecker but obviously they aren't your average bulb you find in anything so you would need to find an import place. Oh and also, From my experience the blue caps get baked on pretty good over time, and it will probably tear or disintegrate when you try to pull it off.

I have a JJR split front+dump ( the 3rd pic ), which I bought second hand. Only issue I had was that the wastegate pipe, due to sticking out further towards the engine than a traditional bell mouth would, clashed a bit with.... something, I can't remember - I think the water line from the turbo. But it was no biggie - you just have to push it a bit. In terms of bolting up to the turbo and cat, I had no problems. Well, I snapped half the bolts onto the turbo cause they were seized and its an absolute bitch to bolt back up (especially without ratcheting spanners) but no problem with the product

Went to checkout Pavilion yesterday, and it was closed! All boarded up and cleared out like a building site Oh well, there was a chicken shop across the road that had some good stuff

Factory boost cut/fuel cut. I put a turbotech in after Christmas and same thing happened, at 12psi wouldn't rev all the way to redline. I went down to Mercury Motorsport, they said it was easy as to tune out, so I am going to get an ecu remap with them once I have put my intercooler in. Til then I have just wound the boost down and staying away from redline as you can't be sure the air fuel mix is safe anyway. I'm not 100% sure on what actually causes it - You may be able to just get a fuel cut defender, but its probably worth getting a tune. My view is that unless my car is tuned to make use of all the mods I have done, I've just wasted money on buying them. Regardless, I wouldnt recommend running over 12psi on stock turbo, unless you're happy to have it die. In that case maybe it isnt worth tuning til you blow it and upgrade to a high-flow or aftermarket.

Zoom Is Getting A Name Change To Boost!

Funny, new HPI came yesterday and I noticed on the cover it just says Performance Imports, then looked at the last issue and saw that it started then. Still referred to as HPI throughout the magazine though. -
I saw it last night, to be honest it wasn't as good as I expected. A lot of time was taken up with just targa footage - can watch that stuff on tv whenever. I would have liked more of the talkies with Clarkson, Jay and Phil discussing revhead psyche. Prolly get it on dvd though Good to see someone doing something they love with their success though - any rich bastard can buy a ferrari and tell everyone how good it is, respect to Eric for doing what most of us wish we could afford to do. My girlfriend says she wants to do targa when we're older
