  1. Must mean we are improving!
  2. Ah yeah well that's just my opinion - and it is good to try new things! I tried it one year with a Christmas tree and had some results I thought were good at the time. Pretty sure if I look at it now I wouldn't think so lol
  3. Don't like the two where you zoomed during the exposure but the others are bloody fantastic!!
  4. Fuggin cool shot ming... = f**king cool shot man...
  5. Nah don't have any grad filters so added the grad in PP the water in foreground was an ugly brown (it is the Brisbane river after all ) so it worked out well I'm not one of those crazy purist types so I doubt i'd ever bother getting an actual real grad filter since its so easy to do in PP
  6. Agreed - quite like the second "trails" one! Two from last weekend. Sunrise from South Bank
  7. Well in that case! Cool image - might be better with bigger DoF? Not sure where I should be looking.. maybe darkening the surrounding plants and leaving middle one to be brighter Very very flat image - needs darker darks and brighter brights (very common HDR problem due to the nature of HDRs) Don't think the horizon is flat but it works in this image imo That is freaking amazing. Very impressive. Just need an interesting foreground and it would be super. Another nice one.. don't think the non level horizon works in this one though These two are also very flat Background slightly flat. I don't mind the HDR car but the halo's around it aren't nice This one is perfect I think. Only thing I would do maybe is crop the bottom and left slightly.. maybe Good shot - like the teeth
  8. Car looks tough
  9. Just a hobby for me (although work did pay me $200 for two photo's last year)
  10. ooooooooooh
  11. Yeah I agree Sidd - and know how you feel - I want a Nikkor 24-70 2.8
  12. That last one is my favorite - would have been interesting to see the same shot with more DoF
  13. This this is around the corner from my work - he doesn't normally wear jumpers
  14. Nice! Link to google map location pls (you can PM if you want)
  15. 50/1.8, the one at the top of the page (note how link ends with 5018 ) because its VERY cheap and VERY good quality of pictures taken with a nifty fifty will be way better than a kit lens ps that's just what _I_ would do after having taking photos for a while now and having seen the difference between a kit lens and a prime if as a newby the ability to zoom in is important then the kit lens might be better for your needs
  16. If I was starting out THIS is the only lens I would buy (seriously)
  17. Mr. Oizo you've been holding out on us!! These were taken last weekend but only got a chance to look at them tonight This is a shot of my Hilux the day after installing 2" lift Ironman leaf springs and new Ironman shocks in the front. The rear have not been done when this photo was taken. This is a shot of my friend's Landcruiser with his new 33" mud terrains. Both shots were taken with my 18-70mm kit lens while out driving in the National Parks near Nambour Queensland.
  18. Nope Not sure about PS but once its on the web its easy. With Firefox and the FxIF Add-on you can simply right click on photo and go to properties and then get all this (this is from your bike photo): Camera Maker: NIKON CORPORATION Camera Model: NIKON D40X Lens: 18.0-55.0 mm f/3.5-5.6 Image Date: 2010-01-31 23:20:24 +1000 Focal Length: 26.0mm (35mm equivalent: 39mm) Aperture: f/25.0 Exposure Time: 98.000 s ISO equiv: 100 Exposure Bias: -0.67 EV Metering Mode: Center Weight Exposure: Manual Exposure Mode: Manual White Balance: Manual Light Source: Flash Flash Fired: No Color Space: Adobe RGB (1998)
  19. Haha you sound like a salesmen
  20. Who?! Where?!
  21. If you want to try HDR: try and get your hands on some HDR software (I use photomatix but there are some free ones too) have a read of this: http://www.petercollingridge.co.uk/blog/ex...ting-canon-400d then have a go and ask if you have any questions!
  22. Fake HDRs can be achieved with any camera that can take a photo (since you make the HDR from ONE image) Real HDRs can be achieved with any camera where you can adjust the exposure (by either changing the aperture or the shutter speed) Some cameras have an auto bracketing feature to make this easier too What camera do you have? You have a tripod?
  23. GoldZilla - looks like you were shooting on aperture priority mode with the aperture very big. Which might be why the pictures aren't very sharp (as the depth of field was too small). Next time try full manual - just have a play. Set aperture a bit smaller (instead of 3.5 or so try 8 or 9) and leave shutter open for long time (while not touching the camera at all)
  24. Really? How so? Here are some of mine
  25. +1111 IMO a good HDR is one you can't really tell it is a HDR!
