  1. Not personally a fan of over-done clouds but here is an example of a single image HDR for example http://www.flickr.com/photos/lenscrack/2752110614/
  2. Might be a scene with heaps of moving objects and stuff I don't think so Matt. Due to the nature of a HDR you will loose dark shadows and bright highlights. So to make photo not look flat you have to fix this afterwards. This is not hard to do if you have something like Lightroom. Its simply a matter of opening the tone curve and darkening the shadows - (drag left hand side down a little) and making the highlights a little brighter (drag light hand side a little up)
  3. If you are taking a single shot and you know you are going to make a single image HDR out of it yeah a stop or so brighter might be better as there is more info stored in brighter pixels.. little hard to explain but its called shooting to the right (you can read this if you are interested). But yeah the important thing is the expose it so you capture the detail in the dark and bright areas - and in some cases this will simply not be possible with a single exposure - and then.. you'll have to do a proper HDR!
  4. lol - quickly googled and apparently it just means its a single image HDR
  5. What's a pseudo HDR image?
  6. Love that first one Sid!! (second one not so much - eye wanders - not sure where i should be looking lol)
  7. Sam that isn't snow in the foreground is it??
  8. We (mate and I) bought ours from [email protected] then installed and tuned ourselves. *wouldn't suggest doing this unless you have tuned a car before
  9. HAHA - just added it for in case he didn't believe you
  10. www.nistune.com (workshops link at the top is where Isola got those)
  11. Yeah common issue. Best way to avoid this IMO is get in the habit of zooming in on the view finder three or four times depending on the camera and then check what it looks like. You might have to take one photo you know is sharp using a tripod or something so you know how many times you can zoom in on a sharp photo before it doesn't look good any more. Does that make any sense? lol
  12. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
  13. NA_Goodness - You get what you pay for. On the other hand if you aren't taking photo's to go on billboards and its just a bit of fun it might be ok for the purpose. barraspalding - like that last one!
  14. Yeah its his "EF15mm f/2.8 Fisheye"
  15. Thanks Sid! Same place as the previous two pics - ie Mount Coot-Tha. ps I always try and make my images clickable for more info
  16. Yeah exactly. And to use the pciture you dont have to upload it again As it is already hosted on the google servers. So all you have to do is link to it. When you view your picture in the Picasa web album you will see on the right there will be a "Link to Photo" which gives the the URL to the image. And you just use that URL then
  17. Hmmm.. I could try but its only a single exposure so don't think I'll be able to get too much detail out of the foreground hey Haha no I wont! Hate working on my two cars as it is. ps cheers
  18. Some hot air balloon action
  19. She is definitely gorgeous. Focus slightly off in this one maybe?
  20. Fast Stone is just a resizer. Picasa is a program that can do all sorts of things. One of which is to resize as you upload So you can upload them at 800pixels OR you can upload using Picasa in full size and then just link to the 800pixel versions Here is my online picasa web album as an example: http://picasaweb.google.com/ZennonDamant and here is a picture IN that first album linked to here:
  21. Ah cool - I'd love to work in a place that has something to do with cars
  22. You can download and install Picasa (free google app) and then resize them to 800pixels on the fly when you upload them to your own free online web album... (and then just link to the pics in there from here)
  23. Who do you work for?
  24. Brisbane at Night (bit disappointed with how dark it is actually)
  25. A new Nikon? Nice - I'll make sure I check ebay when I decide to actually get one ps we expect some pics!
