  1. mine still runs fine and i have similar problems.. loads of smoke from rear turbo and on backing off smoke out of pod rear filter. first suspected turbo but now after compression and leak down test my number 6 cylinder isnt looking hot with 0 compression and alot of leak... you could very well be in the same boat as me. but i am happy about rebuild time! atleast now i will know whats done to my motor instead of guessing
  2. Yeah there seems to be atleast 5k on just parts. cheers for that i better start saving for it! i dont have to worry about anything else but the engine, the rest of the car is fairly sorted which i'm happy with its current setup.
  3. Lets pray, that nissan australia import just the base models.. and the grey side of things will be vspecs etc at a later date..
  4. Hey mate, I can include one if you really want. but it isnt brand new like the rest of the the covers cheers!
  5. Oh good stuff richard!! love your work!! i'm glad someone is doing it! i'm looking forward to when i actually start making the big bucks to buy one of these! so hopefully in a year or two i'll come talk to you about it!
  6. from what i know, 33n1 pistons, n1 oil pump, cams and the rest is a bit unknown untill i pull it down. i'd probably want to go with another oil pump to jun etc. and hope that there are baffles etc in the motor already. i'm thinking of doing rods, pistons, oil pump, head and might modifiy the sump at my friends work to hold some moar oil.
  7. The time has come to rebuild. I currently am trying to gather data on what i will need to support the stupid amounts of boost i want to put thru the new motor. i currently have r34n1's - gt2860-?? but they have been high flowed to accommodate a 5mm larger front wheel so are a bit larger than normal spec. i want to pump atleast 2bar thru them, currently they were pumping about 1.4-1.5bar what bottom end am i going to need to cop the abuse? this rebuild will probably take up most of this year. and will be doing as much myself as i can. and other parts required for rebuild purposes? i'd probably want to spend around 8k on the motor.. cheers
  8. i'm not so sure about that.. they are fetching a rather large price in japan, looks like people are making profit on the sale price. will have to wait for that to die down a bit.
  9. i think so? i'm not sure! i figure its just Eligible at the moment Basis: Regulation 24(4)(b)(ii)(A) and 24(4)©(ii). Model of vehicle has not been supplied in MA Category to the Australian market in Full Volume and meets 2 out of 4 criteria. there would have to be more compliance work ??
  10. http://rvcs-prodweb.dot.gov.au/sevs/477-00.htm its done!
  11. supra 6 speed. is the only thing i can think of at the moment. the 34 gtr one would be a bit of a hastle caus of the transfer case. but the supra.. which is the same internals would work fine with a bit of f**kin about
  12. Someone on nissan silvia mentioned it met a tyre wall at about 3pm that day.. true or false?

  16. Cheers for that! At the end of the day your better off doing it as a race only import
  17. Is it still possible. or ever possible to import a whole car for parts? without cutting it in half. i recall something about pulling out engine and gearbox allowing you to import it as a parts taking car. or was i dreaming? and if i wasnt dreaming does it call under different customs duties compared to just half cuts?
  18. Original post has been modified
  19. Thanks for the look around
  20. Yeah i've noticed this, will have to get an updated catalogue just japs price is below rrp by a long shot also.
  21. must have been a stinker out there today! f**k it was hot.. would have been great to see!
  22. i never checked up on rdd, didnt know about that company but i think they are the one! i will have to measure my rotors when i get home to make sure but they are pretty close to what i think i have at home.. i recall a 343 number as i can remember the disc size a bit of an odd number. http://rdd-brake.com/f50.htm
  23. High Flow Racing Cats by X-force I can offer two styles of cats The racing style in sizes 2.5, 3, 3.5 inch as pictured these can be on offer for $270 with enough intrest. And the normal high flow style for $155
  24. Yeah exactly the problem i had, i couldnt find a matching rotor from japan that was 10 bolt with the same rotor size, and i spent months and months searching. And yes they had to make the hats, i gave them one of my old rotors+hat and they machined up a new hat to suit. i beleive the replacment cost for a new disc is about 200-300 each, and he also said that they dont wear out too quickly either. i should try find out the brand name on the rotor itself but i beleive he said it was a locally made disc. not rda or dba tho??
