I had a gti-r, that i was about to throw about 15-20 grand at to make it good for doing the track work. i got an offer to sell the gti-r and use some of ths 15k to get myself into a circuit thrashed sl*t of a gtr from japan. and here i am! i love it. and i hate it. -

Yeah i hate mine in stop start traffic. its a pain in the ass really. it grabs pretty damn goodm, tho i hate it on hills. and lights you will see me creep up to them as slow as possible hoping it changes green haha but also love it all the same! its the only clutch i could get to fit my spline! -

West side mufflers at padstow. Great fabricator, if you go in there you will see its not just your average exhaust shop. and very good priced too.

Trust 6spd Dog Gears

i have about 500ps. 2.6L apparently when you go to increced torque they dont like it. increaced displacment is the main cause of this. tho never had a problem with it untill it selected 5th and 6th and snapped the lay shaft. this was a problem with them not bieng serviced and tightened. -
That article is from may 2006 if you didnt notice. i think there has been another redesign??

i have a second hand fully rebuilt (tightened, dogs re faced, and more tightening) for sale if you want. i'm asking 5000 ono. They are actually an alrite box, If like all race type transmissions taken care of and servaced on the regular.. i have had words with the people who actually make them, Quaife in the uk, and he has ran one in his gtr for a long time! and hasnt had problems at all. -
the rattle comes from using an aftermarket flywheel. i use a getrag in my car. and i was paranoid about thinking i bought a crap gearbox only to find out that the standard flywheel has some kind of damper in the build?? someone might be able to explain that better which kills the rattle but when you go to an aftermarket clutch and flywheel (which is solid) you will get a rattle. it sounds scary but i got used to it hope that can help

Big Camshfats And The V-cam System
Angus Smart replied to Faid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'd definatley go the v-cam system if you have the coin to pay for it.. when i get home i will try locate the best motoring issue that covers it. i beleive it had subtitles. and was rather interesting. tho testing was only done with v cam on and v cam off. so the system isnt really tested against a car with same setup and just cams. it does seem when vcam is on that you will gain alot more response down low without loosing top end power. -
That was one good race! pity about michael tho, i turned it off and went to bed after that happened. such a reliable car they usually have!
