Angus Smart replied to HYBRID VL's topic in Engines & Forced Induction

A Lil Somethin Somethin About Cat Converters
Angus Smart replied to seraphyn_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
is the x force cat round or ovalish? the stainless round ones are fine and are used on many many high horse power cars with no problems at all. the others are just a normal ceramic cat you'll probably find that all of the metal cats use the same core. -

I've always found greenline to take atleast a week, and have always been spot on when they tell me when the items are dew in.. also never had a problem with nengun either haha.. I'm getting my motor built in Sydney by Pro form. who does alot of my friends work.. As for denso. i'm sure your correct there in saying alot of people rebadge them.. or with injectors really its just re packaging them. the Nismo gasket kit is a full motor thing (all the oil seals, valve seals, all other engine gaskets there must be over 50 gaskets in the box, unlike the tomei etc which is just headgasket, intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets. the only problem is you do not get all metal intake and exhaust gaskets. but you do get a metal head gasket. which i already have so not a problem to me. i've always found its best to use genuine engine gaskets with rebuilds. had, seen and herd of many motors leaking out the main and other seals after motors installed.. and who wants to be pulling out a motor just after its been put back in... tho obviously head gasket is always choice as for the fuel pump, your best going an intank setup.

Just been through it all, engine is at the builders now! Cams: Tomei, Hks or other (not sure were already in engine) Pistons: i went with Mahle pistons (Probably one of the best pistons you can buy) were around $900 Conrods: i went with Pauter. (also one of the best money could buy at the time) also were around $800 Injectors: i bought some 800cc injectors (i think they are denso) from slide on this forum (in the for sale trader section) Oil Pump: Using N1 pump still. (with a well balanced bottom end, and staying away from rev limit launches etc they will be fine) will be looking at dry sump later on Best thing to get is the nismo full engine gasket kit too @ around 4-500 bucks its very good value and you wont have problems with leaky aftermarket gaskets and seals.. I bought most of my engine parts in the Usa, while the dollar was at around .95, therefor i spend a bit more money and got myself Very good parts. also got a n1 water pump for around 200 bucks from the usa.. As for other bits and pieces (jap branded stuff) got most of them from www.greenline.jp I'm close to the 10k mark already tho i did buy a complete n1 motor as that was ment to go straight in........ haha

[group Buy] Acpt Carbon Fibre Tailshafts Any Model! $1400us
Angus Smart replied to Angus Smart's topic in Group Buys
Hey Guys, I've been away at the snow while there is snow still there.. gotta make use of the season pass while i can.. i have 2 emails from Paul, we were getting charged around 300us for postage from Acpt.. which was all included.. Now. Paul also orders shafts from other Us companies some of which are heavier alloy shafts and he gets them in here for around 130us which will probably see the difference in price there.. and possibly only a small payment to be done.. Paul is working on all this. hopefully we will have some action this week and get them sent out,, Now Michael. Wayy too late.. unless someone here wants to sell theirs to you? -
they look just like mine
-
Yahoo, just got home and i have And Just waiting on Arp parts and i will be ready to build! yahooooooo! pistons were a bit of a mess, not sure if i like mahle's packing too well there a few tiny nicks hopefully they wont be of any problem.

Carrera Cup And Mini Cup Tyre Sizes
Angus Smart replied to Angus Smart's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
just the tyre size i was after wheels might have been a bonus thats all.. perhaps the mini might be better as i have 17's i am not sure about them yet. -
Does anyone know the tyre sizes for both of these classes?? And do porsche wheels fit gtr? Cheerssss \ Andrew

Well i was thinking of modifiying the sump around the tomei baffle style. so i could have a bit of an extension and use the trap doors tomei have given me, or maybe i can sell the baffle and go the hi octane one.. possibly do the rb sump similar to the wing style like the aftermarket sr20 ones as for the 6' blond, your right a 6' foot size 6-8 anything would be ok also! haha
-
A question about Sump/Baffle So i bought the tomei baffle, now i'm thinking why on earth i did this. i wouldn't mind extending the sump but not making it go any lower like most other extensions, is this possible? and still use the tomei baffle?

probably to feed the computer boost information
