  1. Sweet, i'll see how i go this week getting the old block out, i'm almost all the way so it shouldnt take too much time. and shall let you know about it. My engine builder was excited about Pauters too.
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_sump the same way they work on all motors. around $8000 +
  3. tight ass and gtr usually turn into broke ass and broken gtr.
  4. Yerp at the end of the day it all comes down to engine condition, and your not going to know the full extent unless its pulled down. then while its pulled down your going to rebuild it right??
  5. we're awaiting reply from acpt. Should have a reply tonite from Sts about it.
  6. your going to get yelled at but heres a link about it http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/101610-what-max...-internals.html
  7. For those who wanted to know where i got the pistons/rods from ended up $1750 without shipping.... Mahle 86.5 and Pauter X beams http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ they are way up on the east coast of America. i placed my order this morning so we'll time it to see how long it takes gto get it all together. Brad: As for that crank, its still in the car but if you remember its got a broken keyway. if you still want it let me know, i've started pulling the motor out just stuck on two prop shaft bolts (some bastards have made them Vft ) dry sump sounds good i'll be happy to take some of them parts off you!
  8. ahh my friends dad is head engineer for United, i was going to pinch some of his tools and pick his brain for the build. engine assembly really sounds like clean, clean, check, check then check some more, clean everything. and then check again and again. and pray to the gods the machinist got the job done correctly i'm probably going to reuse my n1 pump that came off my newish motor, the drive is in pretty good conditon (almost new), and i too will not drive like an Gorilla.
  9. Swwwweeeeet, this is great just like the engine builds on the uk forum!! Hope this all turns out well for you! i figure you have some kind of mechenical experience? or work as one? I stripped down my N1 block lastnite tho its getting the royal treatment 86.5 Mahles and Pauter rods! my old block i want to have a crack at home doing this!
  10. Oh thankyou! while the search was down its been my busiest time working on the car, and i've not had a great deal of info about a few things i am doing. Hey Steve, i've ended up getting them for $1750us without delivery at the moment. just waiting to make payment now. still under the 2000 mark tho which is great
  11. What i wa led to beleive about new versions was just for new cars really, because i have a 32 gtr any version over 3.1 is not really required. tho obviously to run navigator i needed to update to 3.2. i would say camp would require me to update also. it would be great *HINT HINT* for hks to release some data loging software for the fcon via a laptop
  12. Thanks for the info Martin! I really like the fcon, but tuning has always been its biggest problem! with a large shop like Tunehouse on board it looks like i am safe
  13. Sweeet sydneham is so much better and closer to me! email sent!
  14. Email sent over i would like to know how the camp thing goes and what you can actually do with it. it would be very interesting! it is pretty on par with cost as to what i said in the Pm also..
  15. F-CON V Pro easier by the fuel / ignition switch control map for change is possible. 従来、F-CON V Pro本体のスイッチがオプションのミクスチャーコントローラーによって切り替える必要がありました。 Conventional, F-CON V Pro MIKUSUCHAKONTORORA body-switch switch to the option.
  16. Navigator pro can switch maps, well its all i could work out it was good for. if there are even other maps on your fcon. Yeah i've got just about everything fcon pro. whats your email? pm me it if you will. the camp business looks expensive, 600ish for the hks unit. 200? for a screen and maybe another 200 or so for assorted looms sensors. when are you going to do this? does your fcon need to be updated to run it? so 3.24 is which colour sticker? blue?
  17. Also from what i was told, and read in the manuals. even with the power writer software, you can still be locked out of your map/computer if you dont have the password.
  18. Ahh just reading hks usa now, it appears that you can do some form of mapping, tho how far this goes is unclear. looks like you can read the maps but if editing is able i dont know. maybe something that needs to be looked into. what i can see is you can select a different map's like with the navigator pro as for the navigator pro, (on a fcon pro v) all that could be done was change maps, and you needed to update to the latest version on your fcon. what version do you have on yours? iirc you got one in a while back?
  19. You can password protect your map and computer to lock it out from even working with the powerwriter software. hmm hks camp 2 does tuning too? how far does this go into the tuning?? i have not looked for ways for a while as i dont have the car working
  20. i have another question, who said the computer has a password on it??? clearly they have the fcon software and can tune it. it will require a flash and to be retuned from scratch i beleive.
  21. Hey guys! Still have not received word to make the final payment yet, i will email when i get home and go from there. Dr r, i have not herd anything complications about your diagram either so i guess they made your shaft the way you wanted it.
  22. I have a software program that will read what the password is on the fcon. tho he will have to build a simple cable and extract the fcon file from the computer
  23. When i get back up and running i'm looking at a full slick or semi, car wont be on the street really. looking ar around 300-400 per corner, or less Hoosier r6, bf goodridge r1, A048, or any suggestions? i think i would rather try a full slick looking on tirerack there is a bit of a selection but i am sure they could source more. seems your paying around 100 shipping per tyre if its even worth it.... 255/40/17 or there abouts.. on a R32 Gtr...
  24. Sweeet as guys! its coming along nicely! Because search functing isnt working i will ask here what did you do with the 4wd steering lines and pump? i removed the pump but the lines going to the back are still there and i think one to the front rack too? what to do with them? i'm going on a diet too tho the engine is getting a luxuary treatment, Puter rods and mahle pistons that combo for under $2000
