what are you moulding? is it a body panel?
-
ull have to find out wat the limit is. do u have a boost gauge in ur car? if so set 5% and see wat it pulls?
-
use a spade drill to drill the hole, like a No.30 and then if u can use a stepped reamer to full size the whole, will minimize and breakout and fraying and leavea clean hole
-
also would depend on mould thickness too? and quality of mould surface? any chips or defects in it that would require the finished product to be filled and sanded? but generally speaking, would say about 1k-2k.

bought both my 33 and 34 from dennis, top bloke, never had issues with either. both motors were modded and handled it prefectly. never had an issue. also hes always a great help if i was searching for replacement parts and odds and ends.

approx 15-18psi comfortably
-
was this issue something that just happened? sounds similar to wat happened to a mates 33 when we chamged computers, standard for standard, if its a issue that just happened, check that too maybe?

if there was 2 springs in the wastegate, actually in it, then ur pressure is higher to compress both, if ur saying its got 2 springs that come with it then run the smaller 1 only after u've tried runnin the car without a spring. plus small rear housing isnt the issue, .48 tho it is small would limit your boost and effectively the amount of power your able to acheive. then again it could be the wastegate flap fouling your dump pipe. first try the no spring method, then if that isnt working run it with a spring and no dump pipe and make sure the wastegate is opening and not ceased or anything like that. to check fouling, open the gate manually and place a rag in it to hold the gate fully opened, mount the dump and remove to see if the gate flap has moved after you remove the dump, its fouling your dump and there is your issue.
-
if spring is removed car will show no boost cos the wastegate requires no pressure to open and thus u make no boost. if this is the case then the spring in the gate could be the issue so try that first. some1 correct me if im wrong, but arent the ultra gates standard spring around the 15odd psi?

cheez replied to _bobo_'s topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
there is a loop hole in this with regards to 3 brake lights. as the r33 has 4 individual light along the tail they class that as 4 cos there is no visible join from the outside. funnyily enough, was never picked on with the 3 rwc i had by jackass cops that wanted my blood. i had no spoiler either, but they picked on water levels in my radiator reserve. so without spoiler is still ok. -

yeh those ones, use that to do ur drilling. they come in all diff sizes, use a 1/4" one for bolts and go easy, dont force the drill through or you'll get break out on the underside. once drilled, use some scotch brite on the under side to clean the hole
-
thanks al. i know u live in the west and would be easier to get. if it fixes the issue, just means ill have to source another computer for him.
-
800 will get u a carbon bonnet with fibreglass core. a decent carbon fibre bonnet will set up back about 1200-1600 dependant on quality and design.
-
just keep in mind, i work with this shit everyday, the best drill to use when drilling ur hole is a spade drill. there the ones that are like a triangle on the tip. preferably dont use a normal drill bit as this can cause ripping of the fibres around the hole and then make it look shit. when u plan to get your spoiler, msg me if u want and i can come out to give u a hand as far as drilling with the right bits and using a reamer to leave a clean cut. also have sealants that are for carbon fibre to stop the hole leaking any water into the boot or have the exposed carbon absorb water.

hey guys helping a mate of mine get his GTST running in peak form and having some issues. we've tried a few things to try and sort out the problem but none have worked. ive put it down to a computer issue as his car came from japan with a remapped stock ecu. wanna put the standard one in and see if it fixes the problem, but dont wanna buy one to find it doesnt fix our issue. if u have one lying around that i could borrow for a couple of days and then return please let me know. willing to leave a bond too so u know im not running off with it. Car: 1994 R33 Skyline (Rb25det) GTST Series 1. willing to come pick up when it suits you, preferably from the north or west. please help cheers daniel

price range sounds about right, if its black and u want a full respray including door jams, engine bay, boot and all the trimmings that go with, prob around 5k-10k dependant on paint. if you just want a repsray on the outer shell, no jams or engine bay, 2k-3k. if i was you, speak to a panel beater, explain you want the car resprayed and that u want everything sprayed except the engine bay. then also explain that you will dismantle the car for him prior to it arriving, ie take door trims off, boot trims, front guards, headlights, grill, bars and the like and that you'll do re-assemble too and you may find a cheaper price. panel beaters have to spend one day disassembling and another to put back together, so if ur doing it and all they doing is blocking back and spraying may save you some $$. i did it this way with my white 33, full respray except engine bay was 2k. and that included repairing damage in the quarter panel. try that.

hes right. series1 has a curved light, series2 is straight

wat exactly did u put on ur car? was it height adjustable or suspension that has a set height? if its height adjustable, take it into pedders or the like and get them to adjust it down, cost like $50. or if u have the tool for the suspension, do it urself!
