  1. The question I face is to take it to another shop in Sydney, pay for the install only to find that the first shop was right and there is a major problem that requires the head to be pulled. I will then face paying for the labour to pull and remove the standard cams a second time... Andrew
  2. Yes checked that out. No appreciable difference. The shop thought that perhaps the head had warped or something. Andrew
  3. I recently took my BNR32 to my local shop to install turbos (2530s), manifolds, dumps and cams and a D-JETRO Power FC. Everything went smoothly except for the cam swap. During the install the exhaust cam would not turn. A litlle too energic coaxing ended up in it snapping. Suspecting it was a problem with that cam they ordered a replacement but still no joy. The intake Poncam rotated smoothly but not the exhaust cam, even after some wet & dry work on the caps. In the end they reinstalled the original cams which rotate fine. Dissapointing as the 2530's could really do with the extra airflow to get them on boost. Has anyone encountered a situation like this before? Are there any solutions other than line boring the head? Andrew
  4. Which Skyline? I have an R32 GT-R
  5. Thanks Dave for putting on a spectacular day. All that wild skid pan action!! Even if I had to get the GT-R towed after it died on the last 360 of the day to Grant's. With two expert mechanics at work Grant and his dad soon isolated the problem as fuel related. Some further investigation indicated that the pump was not getting power. A second check of the fuse box indicated - you guessed it - the fuse was blown!! Wish I had figured out that that out before the $140 tow... Just for the record the quickest car their was an Mick's EVO 9 with semi slicks although the AWD could not keep up in the woooah stakes with dave showing how a FR sound be driven!! Mick, If I can get some of that footage from you camera, that would be great. Happy to pay for the CD-R. Anyway thanks again for a great day and to Grant for offering me his garage to get the car fixed. Andrew
  6. I do this trip regularly. If you speak a bit of Japanese, hitting yahoo auction hard before you go and sending it on to your hotel works well. Electronics are cheap but I also brought out R34 rims and took them back on the plane!! Andrew
  7. Just caught up with Dave and I will also be attending on the day. See you all there. Andrew Le Lievre BNR32
