1/Refused to give a quote to my wife (as I had the "fun" week of 11-14hr days at work, engineering blows), she mentioned that I had been insured before with them. Even refused to put under her name. It is not "my" or "her" car it is "our" car who gives a funk who's name it is under...
2/Asked me what I wanted to insure it for, I said $18k, which in all fairness would put me in another manual V35 sedan (ie not auto) at this time if poo hit the fan. He then said "$15k for $1000p/yr". So why bloody well ask then? Also I am 36 so insuring that car for that is taking the piss, answered NO to all the "have you.." questions.
I also hate when I call up and since I am not so much in the car scene anymore (was in a number of car clubs in the late 90's early 00's with the 180sx I had) the attitude is almost like "why are you calling us, wannabe car enthuasist?", Just the elitist attitude they seem to have. I called up when we first had the car and got the same attitude, hence why I went elsewhere, thought they may have changed. This is the reason why I was a bit wary to call them in the first place.
My brother inlaw has a particular car with them, an old Corona wagon (it is in good shape TBH) mid-late 70's. He bought that for $150 (told them so), he rang Shannon's and they turned around and insured it for $3500. Work that out.
