Hey mate, Yes the factory bonnet catch counts as the first fastening system, but cams expect a backup if it fails. As far as im aware you can simple use a piece of rope, but i plan on using tie down strap (can purchase from any automotive store). -

Connecting 4point Harness In R33
moobaque replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Its all pretty bad until u get yourself a proper seat...the shoulder harness staps are probably going to be tight around your neck because of the lack of guidance through the stock headrest, and obviously as mentioned the angle is all bad in the event of a crash... specially with a reclinable seat! (your spine wont be happy) as for the lap belts connection that far back, it wouldnt be an issue if running throught the guides of a proper racing seat but as your not the points need to be closer to you. this may require putting an eye bolt through ur transmission tunnel on your left side but you should be able to use a stock bolt hole, like the anchor for the bottom of the standard seat belt, or worst comes to worse an eye bolt though the floor (with a plate on the back to spread the load) Ive had a harness bar built for my street car to i get a much more preferable harness angle for the shoulders. Havent got a pic handy but ill post one up tomorrow if you interested in the concept. -
Im keen as mustard! put me down for this trip just hope my poor little GTST can handle that many days of punishment...

Hey all, Im just a little confused still on the driver training front. It does have "novice" on the list of 2007 classes in the supp regs. But if i look at the running sheet for the day it doesnt list the training blocks which i thought they had at the sandown rounds supp regs? The entry form also asks for an expected lap time, can i just leave that blank as i have no idea / will be slow no doubt. and last but not least do you have to sort out the number to stick on the car or do the organisers/cams hand them out on the day? thanks heaps everyone Camden -
Can I put down for 2 singles please (me + the old man) for both friday & sat. I figure even if there isnt driver training i'll still come up for some spectating and to meet some of you peeps as im still a newbie! Cheers

If there is driver training, im in! I'm still a newbie, will only be my second time out on a track! -
i think you will be pretty safe, i have a 3.5" turbo back exhaust system and pod filter (ie lots of induction noise) but i dont flaunt it. just save the high rpms for the race track! You also must have the right attitude if you do get pulled over. dont have ago at them for doin there job. The one time it happend to me in my 'line the cop seemed to have an attitude towards me expecting me to be a prick cruising around in the wee hours of the morning. He took my licences, did his checks and returned nice as pie when he had seen for himself i had never done anything wrong.
-
Depends if you drive like a moron on the street or not... I'm off my P's now but i still have only been pulled over once in the 8 or so months i have owned the car (and it was 3am on my way home from work). I live in hawthorn which is basically same area you do. Put simply.. dont drive like a twat and u won't have a problem.
-
Hey dude, I had very similar problem. (If you have done a search you most likely would have found my thread). The problem for me was within the tacho mechnanism its self, nothing to do with the signal from the ecu. I took the easy way and put a new cluster in, but there are many guage servicing companies out there. Have a look in the yellow pages. Cheers Cam

Sounds like the connector at the back of your hazard light button isnt making contact or has fallen out. your indicator runs through that button before it heads to the indicators them selves, hence why neither indicator stalk or hazard button work. When you have remote central locking put in its brain is talking to the indicators earlier in the chain and thats why it does still work. Tis very easy to get the dash off and have a look. There is a post in the DIY section that has pretty pictures to go along with it.

Endless Cc-x Break In...
moobaque replied to moobaque's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Checked the rear pad fitment and everything is fine... so doesnt appear anything in the installation is causing the noise i cant find my receipt but i think all 4 corners cost me $500.. possibly $600. Depending on what calipers you have you will be able to get them cheaper off the net. I think nengun sell em for about $411, but you'll have to wait a while for them to arrive. -
Endless Cc-x Break In...
moobaque replied to moobaque's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I did buy them for track purposes but if im able to leave them in the car between meets it would be an advantage.. My fronts dont squeal at all even under light braking.. just the rears.. I did do the install myself, but im pretty confident its all AOK.. I'll check em out this arvo to make sure. -
Hi All, Firstly appologies if this gets posted twice but either my nets up the shit or something funky is goin on with the sau site. Anyhoo, a few days ago I installed Endless CC-x pads all round along with a brake fluid bleed replaced with Motul RBF600. obviously im still in my bed in period but the intense squeeling coming from the rears is discusting. Under heavy braking they are relatively silent (which is good as they are bought for track day reasons). But with the less intense preasure used on the street the squeel is huge.. and appears to be getting worse. Whats happened on my drive home tonight is that the brakes squeel from the touch of the pedal till stop, but now when im at about 15kmph or less a much deeper vibrating, almost grinding sound seems to start to sneak in. is this just what happens at bed in with these pads or is something a bit funky going on? I would love to get this sorted asap as its almost making the car undrivable, and a threat to my life from angry people near me. (oh and i have done a search but returned nothing that came near my issue) Cheers Camden

Thanks for ur responses guys, i did find out earlier today that access auto had them. went and checked them out today and like most of the brands im too tall for them looks like im sticking withe cobra which is a better option for a seat i think anyway.. just have to work out the cheapest way of mounting them... not looking very exciting so far. why isnt there universal rails sold here for skylines like driftworks make http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products...right-side.html or is there and i don't know about it? Cheers

although only going to work if there is two of you. i refill my oil by using a 1.5m piece of flexible pipe with a funnel attached to one end. (i think its about 12mm in diameter.. although could be bigger...) Run the funnel though the drivers side of the engine bay. Have one person ensure that the pipe stays pointed into the gear box filler hole while the other poors the new oil into the funnel. much easier than getting up and down lotsa times. Cam

Hey all, im in the market for a fixed back racing seat and have been doin the rounds of checking out all the brands. so far looked at sparco, recaro, cobra, mq and sabelt. before i make a decision i would like to have a sit in a Bride Zeta 3 if anyones got one, just to see what the comfort is like, but more importantly that the seat belt holes for my shoulders are going to be at an acceptable height. If anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated!! Cheers Camden

Well the motor cant be burnt out coz it randomly started working again this morning... got the switches and relay being looked at by an auto electrician...*fingers crossed* its a simple easy and most importantly cheap fix!
-
So far still no success on working out what the hell is wrong... But now im looking for some recommendations for some wreckers... ive called all the companies listed in the victoria section of the forum with no success and a few i found in the yellow pages.. none had any motors or switch modules (especially with the relays together) Nissan themselves wanted over $500 just for the motor!!!! eeep! so wont be buying a brand new one....
