Getting a baffled sump will only help with keeping your oil cooler (but upgrading to an aftermarket sump will generally mean higher capacity which is a good thing) and your problem has stemmed from lack of oil. The simple fix is to overfill your oil 500ml - 1L above the full marker but this is generally just a precaution for track going vehicles. considering your car is street only id be wondering if there was some sort of blockage or your oil pump failure. This really shouldn't occur on a street only car.

mate that's really your choice... if you have the money for a tune now chuck it away in a bank account you cant touch till you upgrade turbo.... if you really need your car for a daily then save your money and do it at once....

Need A Hand With What Exhaust To Get?
moobaque replied to 4doors13secs's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
In my opinion its a waste of money upgrading if your only going to go 2.5" go 3 inch but just make sure there are adequate mufflers in the system. The reason why probably most peoples exhausts are stupidly loud on the street is they only have a resonator/hotdog in the middle instead of an actual muffler (or skipped a central muffler altogether). Also don't make your rear muffler isn't the size of a gas bottle and you shouldn't get any drone. May even consider going twin outlets to keep the exit pipe a smaller size (but at the end of the day its still the same open area) this should help keep the note higher. I can personally recommend the trust power extreme 2 for being relatively quiet. But i certainly know HKS market a series that claim to be relatively low SPL. Cheers Camden -
Engine Oil... Excactly How Much Do I Need To Put In?
moobaque replied to br3ndan's topic in General Maintenance
nah we don't need to do that there are plently like them already so if you ignore my "branding" earlier here is what i think is rough guide. Only get a fully synthetic, make sure the cold weight is between 5-10 so it gets things like the turbo lubed up nice and quick, and the hot weight really can vary from 30-50. I kind of go the thicker hot weight because these are old engines. my clock says 80,000 so in truth its prolly way over 100k so the internals are no doubt far from looking like they did 12 years ago. oh and finally make sure this happens every 5000km. Then everything in life will be just peachy also have you read the goods on oils sticky? think you might find it most helpful. cheers Camden -
Engine Oil... Excactly How Much Do I Need To Put In?
moobaque replied to br3ndan's topic in General Maintenance
each to there own. Ive been running 5w50 mobile 1 in a car that does track work for over a year now and couldn't be happier. as for oil amount. if your changing filter then as already stated its just shy of 4.5L. if your going to be doing track stuff then maybe chuck in about 500ml more. Cheers Camden -
tis just the exhaust temp sensor.

The stuff u need to buy is CRC Maniseal Exhaust Cement! u use this stuff on both sides of exhaust gaskets and as the first time the pipes get some heat in them this stuff will set and stop all those unwanted leaks! you can purchase it from any auto place eg. repco, bursons, supercheat, etc

the split dump and cat have rather little affect on how loud the exhaust is (although they will to a certain degree). its more about the two mufflers. The Power extreme has a large center muffler instead of just a hotdog or resonator and the cannon muffler at the rear isn't stupidly big so its not droney. Its definitely an EPA friendly exhaust combo.

The price is not offensive except all the parts are a little bit of an unknown which for me isn't very attractive. as for split dump pipes... if you buy a decent design (can recommend the bos import dump, contact BATMBL on this forum) they are the go for sure or a cheaper option would be the JJR split dump...i fear this dude is just saying its not as good because he doesn't stock one... In my opinion you would be better off purchasing a bolt on catback system from one of the big manufacturers like the HKS, Trust, Fujisubo, etc. Then purchasing a split dump and cat off probably any of the traders on this website and bolt it up yourself. Honestly installing a bolt on exhaust system is one of the easiest mods you could ever do on your car. The hardest part would probably getting some of the old nuts undone.. Cheers Camden

+1 for resonator if you want a relatively quiet exhaust i can highly recommend the Trust Power Extreme II as the catback system. I have this with a split dump & high flow catco cat and couldnt be happier. Cheers Camden

+1 for wheel balance. could of thrown a weight. its happens sometimes.

JAZMA isn't a brand... its just a quality standard that aftermarket sports exhausts need to meet in japan. so having said that there is probably no real useful reason to be changing the muffler as its probably good enough. (that's without actually seeing what you have though) as for the dump/cat. i personally can't give you feedback as ive not heard of this muffler/dump/cat. what kind of money are they asking for these items? what diameter piping are we talking? is the dump split or combined? Closest thing off the top of my head could possibly be JJR and they do a exhaust system called hyperflow? edit: Just also had a thought in regards to recommendations. Prolly need to have some idea of how much money your willing to spend. But as a general rule 3-3.5inch is good sized piping, the highest flowing cat that can be afforded and a split dump pipe, also how loud or quiet you want the exhaust to be. Cheers Camden

Adjustable Coilovers
moobaque replied to Clint32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey Troy, Do racepace supply the Tein RA/RE's and rebuild them or do you have source them yourself? Although i'll no doubt be giving them a ring (ive been telling myself suspension is the next mod for about 10months now) do you know what kinda money we are talking? Cheers mate Camden -
basically its just a way of combining the exhaust gases from the engine and the turbo's wastegate with minimal turbulence (hence better flow). with the standard setup the gases just collide with each other. its exactly the same theory as putting extractors on a naturally aspirated car. This isn't prolly a bad idea anyway but i had to purchase a new O2 sensor (its an oxygen sensor that screws into your dump pipe) as the after market split dump had the mounting hole lower than the stock item and the current 02 sensor lead was to short. Went and got me a brand spanking new NTK from Bursons for i think like $80 (maybe less?) and fixed the issue. (as well as the vehicle probably running more efficient as 02 senors get a little destroyed from years of exhaust gas) Cheers Camden

lol and once you have put the stock bov back on might want to lower the idle back to normal. 2k is just silly

mate, there will be some minor increase of power with a catback only exhaust but at the end of the day if a real power increase is what your after (and headroom for the future) the cat converter and the dump pipe are the weakest link in the standard exhaust. if your just after a nicer note and some bling out the back then a cat back is fine. Cheers Camden

Prolly need a little more information about when this happens. eg. immediatly on start up.. after a long drive etc etc. could be so many things. Cheers Camden

Oil Filling In Rb's....
moobaque replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If your just street driving then filling it up to the actual full marker is fine. If your going to be doing track stuff (ie holding high revs for extending periods of time) then over filling is a safe guard to your engine being starved of oil. I'm led to believe this is a much bigger issue in gtr's than gtsts but on the other hand there are prolly more gtrs doing track work. i think i normally put in about 500ml above the full marker and have never had an issue. (which is just shy of 5L's of oil if changing the oil filter at the same time) my oil capacity is standard also (stock sump, no oil cooler etc etc) Cheers Camden -
Hey all, As some of you maybe aware ive been moding a series 1 mspec bar for an intercooler. im all keen to put a mesh on the bar to attempt to protect the cooler from the majority of stones being flicked up but not have a weave thats so tight it kills my air flow. Now ive been doing many a search through this forum with many explanations on how people have mounted the mesh which has been most helpful but im struggling to purchase some mesh to do the job. A few people mentioned that supercheap/autobarn carry a saas universal mesh which i went and checked out today. besides the quality being horrible they only sell the mesh in a sheet 1200 x 280mm. this is not tall enough for my application so not really an option. I've also today done a ring around of many security screen places that are of a reasonable driving distance from my house in hawthorn (places in burwood, box hill, dandenong, malvern, ringwood, ashwood) and all only had a security mesh that was of a tight weave (because in there application it was to act as a flyscreen also) I then contacted a company who is a wholesaler of bluescope products but do sell to the public and on there website seem to have mesh that would do the trick but claimed they had no sheets in victoria and wouldn't be interested in bringing any down from newcastle unless it was a big order. can anyone point me in the direction of a specific company in melbourne? I'm figuring aluminium would be the go for weight, minimum corrosion and ease of bending at install time, but if i have to go down the steel path then that will be acceptable as well. im figuring a weave with 6-10mm2 openings is prolly a decent size to keep airflow good and protect from larger stones. any help would be much appreciated as im really wanting to do sort this out asap Cheers Camden

a fuse would be more useful if that's what your trying to replicate. I can kinda see the logic behind it but whats probably easier to just unplugging the airbag sensor which is mounted kinda underneath your radiator. Thats what completes the circuit in an impact. But if you did want to go down the fuse path any low current 12V fuse will suffice. Your wanting it to blow immediately so something in the mA's (milliamps) would be fine. Cam

Its a broadway musical. Although this tour of it is almost a tv show. All the principle roles are tv stars.

Guys and Dolls For sure! I have never mixed a show this big before (I'm a sound engineer) so this is a pretty huge step in a short period of time but hopefully it leads onto more big productions....if i don't F&^# it up
