  1. I'll take a harness in a roll over crash over a seat belt with or without a roll cage any day thanks. As to the question from OP, the BEST thing to do, is actually grab the CAMS regs on mounting and get the angles right. As for the nut strap, you will most likely need to drill straight through the floor, and put the mount in. You can buy certified mounting plates from around the place that the loop will bolt into.
  2. Yes, dead standard RB25 bottom end, making 370odd RWKW... Nitrous Oxide was then added...
  3. Not very many engines like limiter bashing at all. When you limiter bash, you hammer the oil pump, when the oil pump cracks, you lose oil pressure and trash the motor... I can tell you this from experience...
  4. I dunno, I like saving money... $60 to join, and about $100 off insurance dependin on everything... Just for that I say it's worth it... But then again, that'd just my opinion...
  5. I may be older and more responsible, and now set in my ways... But is that going to make me able to drive in heavier traffic of a night when I've never driven in it? Or how about when I do get in a car with 4 passengers that I can drive for, how do I get use to them all talking when I've never experienced that before? Education and attitude bending is the only way to fix bad driving and reckless driving...
  6. Here's a thought... All of the bans and restrictions they have implemented, or want to implement, are because they're not used to driving to said conditions/with power etc... So what happens at the end of said restriction when they are 2 - 3 years older and STILL haven't driven in those conditions?
  7. 3 to 4 minutes is a super long time to wait when you need to take a leak uber bad though!
  8. Duncan's Stag lives? WTF?!
  9. To all you kids who want a whore thread, the best whore thread is the hidden whore thread. If you want access to it (And more goodies) then pay your $60 Member ship fee, send in the bit of paper, and you'll have access...
  10. Becareful with just letting air flow in from the bonnet, it can cause too much air pressure inside the engine bay and limit air flow through your radiator.
  11. As a person with a full licence, I'm more terrified getting in the car with my friends who are fully licenced compared to the P Plater friends I have. In a general sense, I see more full licenced drivers running red lights, not stopping at STOP signs, speeding, tail gating etc. I'd rather see stricter testing, and tougher policing.
  12. If you don't have the ability to do the work yourself, budget a MINIMUM of 20K. If you do have the ability to do it yourself, you will need a basic budget of 10K (That's just buying stuff, and fabbing it...) I'm halfway through putting an LS1 into my R33. It doesn't leave you with more room, in fact, you end up with less. The motor is the exact same length as an RB26 (I had both sitting side by side) and is MUCH wider. You also need to factor in getting a 2.5" exhaust pipe down past the steering column. You will need custom mounts, custom tail shaft, to fabricate up clutch lines, all intake to be custom, radiator lines modified etc etc. Basically EVERYTHING needs to be custom. It is NOT a simple conversion, although you really don't have to cut much, just that everything needs to be custom made. Engine is lighter, but the gearbox is heavier, you end up winning by around 20 to 50KG at max. Edit: I'm also making things easier and ditching all emmisions gear as this is going to be track only.
  13. If it's not had a replacement sensor placed in the dump pipe, do yourself a favour, remove the AFR gauge, and forget you ever started this thread.
  14. Does this car meet the WANKR regulations?
  15. Also means I'd have to leave my neighbours at home... I don't think the chick would like what they do to quieten down a noisy bit of kit...
  16. Can we start a competition that we can air on TV that will let a complete douche enter this event only to crash a few laps after taking over his driving stint?
  17. Will fuel be available on the day, or should I bring more then 3 jerry cans?
  18. As noted in that recorded conversation, when you bring the jelly, we can wrestle. Until then, I'm telling my mum!
  19. Sorry FATZ, I've seen that SAU already has an event coming up that is full of Wankrs. Can you please change the name and sup regs. KTHXBAI
  20. Is the only thing that you purchased, the gauge? Does it have a new sensor, or does it wire into the old sensor? If its using the standard sensor, you remove it from the car, and throw it in the bin. It will be as useful in the bin, as it is in your car then.
  21. If it's only the gauge connected to the factory sensor, then ignore the gauge. It's designed for a wideband sensor, not a narrow band sensor, all that they can read is "Lean, Stoich, Rich" they don't return an AFR.
  22. I've learnt the odometer means nothing at all to do with condition, even if it is accurate. It's all about how the car is looked after. A car can have done 10 000 KM, or 200 000KM, and both be in the same condition depending on how they've been looked after.
  23. 550 - 650KMs from a 38 litre tank... Around town... Thrashing it...
