Actually, Chubbs, what is wrong with the MX5? I did a run in Anna's last texi, and it was AWESOME to do Texi in. lemme double enter your MX5 and I'll pay your entry...

Those studies, yes are quite true from those countries. In Australia though, have you opened your eyes up? I watch EVERY DAY on the freeway cars that are travelling higher then the general traffic flows speed (Like mentioned in the study), now these people are normally the ones involved in the most near misses. Why? Because people in Australia DON'T check the speed another vehicle is travelling at. Half the time they don't even check if there IS a car there. I'm not sure about you guys, but seeing first hand how people actually drive in other countries, is a real eye opener. People say Asians can't drive for shit, but I'll tell you right now, I would rather drive on a road in Thailand, then in Australia. (And I'm sitting right now in Bangkok saying this too ) Why? Because in other countries people drive predictibly. Everyone is taught to drive exactly the same, they know if they do something what other people will do. In Australia it's pure luck if you can do something and have two people react the same way! Australians truly are shit house drivers! Oh and we know that these cameras are for revenue raising and not increasing road safety. But what everyone is bitching about in this thread (Until the last page) is about how unfair it is to get BOOKED for speeding, when the simple matter of the fact is, Don't Speed, Don't get Caught. Unfortunately, people don't understand this concept, they still think that speeding is a right. No, it's illegal. If you don't speed, you won't have a problem! Oh, and as for those who speed a bit over the limit/general traffic flow, I'm not sure if you've ever done a road trip to say Queensland from NSW (Or something similar), but I can recall on EVERY TRIP a car that has "sped past safely" only to over take them an hour later as they're now doing 10 - 20KM/H under the limit. Then an hour after that they "speed past safely" again, and this continues on the whole journey. And do you know what causes this? The extra alertiveness drains their energy quicker, they lose concentration, and reduce their ability to maintain the same speed, so now they're tired, fluctating in speed, and more of a danger on the road. So while you might be "More alert while safely speeding" the evidence is out there that you become fatigued quicker.

Contradictory post is contradictory.

Lend me your car for the day yeah? I'll be up there again, but no car, so no entry.

Nsw State Champs On Tv Wed 17 November, 7.30pm
MBS206 replied to Duncan's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
You know... I swear I only entered Seans VN in the SAU:NSW Texi... -
I know... The only "cuts" I got was hacking my finger with the back of a stanley knife, and the scar I have on my arm now from loading boxes into the GTR over the roll cage... LOL And you know what, I'd do it all again cause it was MAD FUN! Just next time, can we take a real tow car Duncan?
-
CHUBBS! Enter the MX5 in Production, WE CAN WIN IT! Or Uncy Dunc... I'll co drive with you! COME ON! The GTR WOULD PWN the Production Class! (With you behind th ewheel anyway) If you both say No, then I'm going back to drinking... If you say yes... Well I'll go drink some more to celebrate...
-
It's alright Neil... I volunteered to pit for Mr Handley, and some how ended up working for him and the Wiggles on the same day... LOL
-
You don't need lube... All I did was toy with his nuts and tweak his toes...
-
Feel free to take me up on it.Just be aware I'm in Thailand until the 22nd of Jan... And yes, alas I am considering a cheater car... Bang for buck, it's winning atm. But that decision is still a way off, the first thing to do is sell mine. It has to go unfortunately. It'll cost me twice as much to get it to Targa spec then starting from scratch.
-
And here I was thinking we had a moment while laying under your MX5...
-
I saw the car on the tilt tray. I don't believe he's an SAU'er... Looked like warp speed was involved in the accident... I heard very little about it in the news as well actually.
-
I'm with Chubbs.
-
The poor Yellow and Purple Beast is just a little stressed... With Uncy Dunc behind the wheel I know why too! HE'S A MADMAN! (And I love how he drives it!) Neil, if you need a hand doing things with your beasty, lemme know. I'm just starting to sell all my gear off... Going to start from a fresh base in 6 - 12 months time and build probably to the same standard as Duncs Yellow and Purple beasty.

Daleo, I'm not sure if youv vet had to deal with the consequences of someone else speeding, but my family has. Some f**k wit who thought it okay to be 30km/h over the limit and lost control of his car, crossing to the wrong side and taking my father out. 13 years later he can't sleep properly, is in remedial every week to be able to keep walking, and can no longer continue his life long job of wing a draftsmen. Is it someone elses right to take the ability to live a nice life away from dimwit like that? No it's not, therefore it's not their right to speed! Driving is a privilege, we are allowed to have this privilige IF we follow the rules. Therefore it isn't yours or anyone else right to speed! And while the private company AND the RTA want it lowered the NSW police force has already successfully blocked them lowering it!

Again with this bullshit of "Watching the speedo too much"! Seriously, in a 10 second period you SHOULD be checking ALL of your mirrors and your speed no matter what. Secondly, your speedo in the Stagea is defective, fix it, don't bitch about it. Cars by law are designed to have UPTO a 10% over read on the speedo. (IE, actual speed = 100KM/H, speedo says 110KM/H) It is no longer allowed to have an under read on newer vehicles. Thirdly, the amount of god damn f**king WANKERS on the road who think it's their god damn given right to speed, SHIT ME TO TEARS!!! Double demerits recently, in a highly patrolled section of road, and people were still doing 20 - 30KM/H OVER the limit. Seriously, why do people think they can go this fast? Fourth, I know from many years experience of passing coppers sitting 10km/h over, they don't give a shit. In fact, if you get pulled over by a copper, they do you for the speed on the radar, minus 2KM/H... This will work the same way for the person who is controlling the camera in the little truck... I also don't understand why it's such an issue today, when it never used to be an issue 10 years ago when they were using mobile speed cameras in COMPLETELY unmarked cars. Australia... It's just full of a bunch of whinging wankers... The Diggers would be rolling their graves about now...

Kory, send us a PM if you're looking for a cheaper optioned ECU then what Owen has posted. And people's, the ECU owen has posted has some an awesome load of features, more user friendly then a PFC, and cheaper! -
Read Bezerks build thread...5.7L in an R32...

Touche... Reading those regs, is making me very happy to not have put the money into mine to build it back again for track work yet... There's a million things I need to change if I wanna do TT...
-
Neil, I had a quick flick through the regs for TT that were just recently posted, you're planning to run in Modern Modified Sport yes? I'd love to take a punt at something like that, but I'm concerned about having to run the standard turbo charger... I'm not a fan of eating rear exhaust wheels... Are you still going to be sticking with the stock turbo?

Is Abs Good For Drifting And Have Fun With The Car
MBS206 replied to streetboyz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Motorkhana I'll take ABS... I lost a run fractionally because the driver pushed too hard, locked a tyre and understeered... Gimme ABS and I'd have owned on that run. As for ABS in motorsport, there's a few guys on here who love it to death for racing, depending on the car, yet certain ABS systems are very bad as they have been known for completely shitting themselves if you're braking, and lift a tyre as one wheel will stop, so ABS kicks in. But for having fun with, since you haven't said street or track, I'd be using ABS. -
The exact same way they get spotted on the race track...

R33 Coupe Window Squiff And Can't Get Door Trim Off .
MBS206 replied to discopotato03's topic in General Maintenance
You also need to undo the door handle. There's a screw there, and then there's a heap of plastic clips holding it on. -
Rb25de (supercharged) Project
MBS206 replied to r33_racer's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
I wish I had a workshop and all of the tools you have at your disposal... Can't wait to see how it goes twin charged, although, if you're slowing down the compressor, won't you be removing the available boost at lower RPM as it won't be forcing as much air in at that point in time?
