  1. It's actually very tempting to part the whole car out where it sits you know... ButI'll probably drop a new bottom end in and sell as a whole.
  2. Chubbs, as Andrew said you NEED to use the sender that came with the gauge. The sender in the car and the sender that came with the gauge will send out a different signal for the same pressure, hence your gauge going off the dial. Swap senders, all perfect!
  3. The opening paragraph had me laughing! This should be done, how people realise halfway through a project they should have done it! Screw the motor, make it steer and stop first!
  4. Not everyone is a pedobear either. If you want something to track once a month, buy a dedo track car, buy a Commodore for daily duties, get the track car setup for like improved production (So you keep it "stock") and just drive the doors off it! My R33 GTS-t will most lkely be up for sale in Jan as I'm looking atspending a lot of time over seas.

    Rage!

To put it simply, it looks like 90% of the things bolting the wheel, to the car body, are bent. And phatlavish expanded the abbreviations... LOL Sorry bout that.
  6. Interesting... Very interesting... I need to redo my centre console, and that looks f**kING ACE!

    Rage!

By the looks of that the LCA is bent, UCA is bent tie rod arm, most likely dont something to ATLEAST a sway bar link (If not the sway bar). You'll probably find the chassis could be bent slightly too, or at least the mounting points. I'd be having EVERYTHING stripped off the front, assessed, and put through insurance.
  8. Wait, so where did the air con controls go?
  9. How did you make that centre piece (The one looking like carbon fibre) Is it just a piece of metal with fake carbon "sticker" over it, or is it proper carbon fiber?
  10. So... I always thought transformers was just a bit of sci-fi... Turns out it isn't... My R33 went 300ZX... And going on holidays overseas has now thrown a spanner in the works again with this project...
  11. Coilpacks on an R34, depending on brand, $350 - $1000 depending on what brand you buy and what the exchange rate is like at the time. They basically all do the same job for 90% of people. On an R34 GTt it is a bit of a longer more time consuming thing to swap them out over an R32/R33 but if you want to learn to service it yourself, you'll need to learn how to get them out quickly so you can swap plugs. The R34 boot *might* be big enough for a body board. The other thing you'll need to be aware of, the Skyline is one of the most often pulled over cars for a "random check". This can get annoying especially if it isn't dead standard. Something like an XR6T, or an EVO often goes unnoticed even when modified.
  12. If you don't: Throw a leg out of bed. Spin a bearing. Smash a Gearbox Leave a diff on the ground Or Eject the axles from a car, You're just not trying hard enough!
  13. This man, is correct... I was running "250RWKW" or so the dyno claimed (Injector Duty Cycle and AFR claimed around another 100RWKW), and even sitting at 130KM/H on semi slicks, I just couldn't put that power down without rolling off the throttle as it came on boost... On the street tyres it even turned them in 4th if you quick shifted 3rd - 4th. If it were a GTR, it would have started to spin, attessa would kick in, and it'd be all over... Although, there's nothing like giving it a big crack of throttle for the first time to overtake and ending up sideways trying to grab 4th... Sorry Mr Baxter... but your ute just didn't keep up!
  14. Oh, I agree that Repco is just some other manufacturer with "Repco" writing instead of their own brand... But they have take some abuse, and are starting to give up a bit now... The Snap On stuff we had, well, it was rubbish. Haven't tried their ratchet sets etc, but the pieces we were buying, we sent that many back from snapping them cleanly in half...
  15. All of the mechanics I know all say the words "Steer clear of Snap On" when buying tools these days. They used to be great, they really did, these days, they're rubbish. My fathers business was originally buying snap on gear (About 9 years ago now) for these special allen key pieces that go on a breaking bar, they were listed as "Unbreakable, with a lifetime guarantee". We used to send them back every month for replacement. In the end, brand name change (KingChrome), haven't broken one since. I have "repco" tools personally myself, they have a lifetime guarantee, and I'm about to send back my ratchet, and my extension... The extension is bending, the ratchet has gone "floppy" and no longer sits at 90 degrees.
  16. This looksl ike it'll be a nice and decent event! I think there'll be at least 10 cars in attendance!
  17. Jarrod, Everyone has a passion for particular things. It seems as though your friends seem to love their Commodores. Now, in 2011, your friends will most likely have the money to buy VZ/Early model VE SS for the same price you're buying a 10 - 12 year old car for. Bang for buck, a VZ/VE SS should shit all over a R34 GTT (Stock for stock) in a straight line. Cornering, the base model commodores have rubbish suspension that makes it feel like they'll roll over, the S, SS, and any other "S" variant runs FE2 suspension, that is, it's 20% firmer. What you'll then start to find, is that the person to go through a corner quickest, will be the one who can steer better. When buy the GTT, you need to think "What is my lifestyle like?" "Will this car suit my lifestyle?" "Do I have any special needs from a car?" "Will this car suit my special needs?" For instance, I have a couple of friends, and we ALWAYS go away on trips together camping etc. So, what we need, is room for 3 Adults minimum, plus luggage from a car. Now we also want a bit of comfort on these trips, and we don't mind sharing cars. Other than that, my daily runs have either just me, or me and a single passenger. So, I was fine with having my R33 GTS-t back when I bought it. Why? Because my mates had two "Family" sized cars, and no one was bothered about sharing the keys when we went away. I had no every day needs of carrying loads of people, I didn't go cruising with a car full of people all of the time. Unfortunately, now, we have an issue of, my mate has a company car (Crewman ute) so only he can drive it, and the back is bad as hell. My other mate has a fagna that drives like a bucket of bolts, isn't that reliable, and me and my crewman mate HATE his driving. So we don't take his car on holidays. I have as a daily, a Honda Jazz, although, it's a company car too (No sharing keys) and it's not that big (And shit with 3 people on the freeway!). I still have my skyline, but unfortunately, it's in pieces. I've thought of buying another car, and honestly, a Commodore has crossed my mind, ALTHOUGH, I hate their build quality. I find that they feel so fake and plasticy inside, even their leather "luxury" seats are terribly uncomfortable etc. Now my two mates are both Holden lovers, the funny part, when they're being serious, they'll admit, that performance wise, my R33 shits all over any commodore, and is more fun to be in... But then again, I can't tow a boat down the coast with 4 adults and luggage Oh, and ask BenM, turn up to a place with skyline lovers in a Commodore, and you'll get the same rubbish about "Should have bought a skyline" from the skyline owners as you're now getting from the commodore lovers... Buy what makes you happy, not what others tell you to... Best way to find out, get in them, test drive them, make sure it suits your needs (And don't buy the first car you get into!). When it comes to looking at them, if I'm still in the Gong, give me a yell, I'll come looking at them. But: Don't buy an R32 or R33 in my opinion, unless you're a bit mechanical savvy or like to tinker (At which point, you'll want to make sure you can walk to work ) as these cars will have minor issues regularly if they haven't been tended to. Although, the R34 GTt is starting to have some minor issues, such as coilpacks at the moment. Do some reading on this forum, then jump on other model specific forums and find out the common issues about them and see if it's a cheap fix...
  18. Can you get some before and after photos using a DSLR?
  19. Okays, I'm back on the original plan as flying to Thailand on Wednesday after it.
  20. Unfortunately in this case, Mum and Dad are also the teacher... That's the huge problem, there really isn't anyone policing the police. Because then we'd need people policing the people policing the police... So on and so forth. There are avenues you can take, but basically, while they might "leave you alone" alot of the time, when they do get you, they will get you for everything they can.
  21. Perfect way to aggravate the people doing it... Giving them more reason. It's like if you were at school and had a teacher that always picked on you. Whinge to the principal, teacher gets questioned, teacher hates you more. Teacher picks on you more. Cause and Effect People.
  22. All the cars history, plus information on the registered owner and they can view their history.
  23. Hey Duncan, I still may or may not need a lift up... I might be looking at driving up myself and spending the few days after over on the gold coast. Will let you know in the next day or two!
  24. Date, time location etc, would all be in there. It's a proper system they use, includin if a police car is patrollig and they see a known POI, they wil quickly record date time etc and just their clothes description without even stopping them. Why? Well if a crime is commited, they can run searches on clothing descriptions and it will come up with, date time where, who spotted them etc. This was all information that I have been told by a friend's step brother whom is a Constable in the force. (I also had it mentioned to me by a neighbour when I questioned something with him, he's also in the force) Both have said though that the information is never released to the public. It's pretty much like those retail shops whom have an annoying customer, there ends up being a "register" of who the drop kick customer is so they can see. The other part about the knife, although the charges were "thrown out" his record would indicate that he was arrested etc for carrying a knife, with no charges laid.
  25. No, it doesn't. It may not be on his criminal record, but I've never been charged with a large array of things the police say I've done. It's still on my record when they run my licence. Such as I had an officer show me, that I had marked on my licence as a "street racer" by an officer two weeks earlier. (Funny part being, the run in with that officer was on a street with zero cars etc) The police put notes all through their system on people, including their attitude etc. As such, if you're an ass to one officer, the other officers to follow, are very likely to be assholes out of the bag, as you're "known" for being an asshole.
