  1. All 40 pages are worth readin!
  2. Roy, got any spares of some brakes like that that'll suit an R33 GTS-t
  3. If you only find deer, you're doing good! Lol. Of a night it can be a terribly dangerous road! My missus lives right near it was like "there's no deer in there" until we went past 20 of them... Lol, I've come across lots of animals in there, which is expected being a national park...
  4. Come on Neil and Ryan, even I'm going to Morgan park! Annual leave approved today...
  5. Sorry, I was slightly out on my figure, it is roughly per hour... Costs: $3,850 per hour flying time (Add an extra $183 per hour for servicing from below!) $3,500 for a flight helmet $384, 000 for a set of four main rotor blades $5,000 for a 50-hour service and up to $25,000 for a 300-hour service $250,000 for a main transmission
  6. If you're tempted to go through there that quick, you're tempting fate to end up in the cause way... That cause way can get VERY slippery at times. The direction we'll be heading if you carry too much speed onto that causeway it will often end in understeer, and it's only a narrow crossing really! Just so you all know, I'll be coming UP through the national park before the cruise as well to take note of anything that is out of the ordinary (For the RNP anyway!)
  7. Do you know how much it costs to have a single chopper in the air? On average $3000 per minute from memory the figure is. To put it in the air 24/7 and with enough that they have a 3 minute response time, a j-walking ticket would cost $10 000 the revenue raised from fines is only subsidizing your taxes. Increase spending, increase taxes... The government just got in trouble for trying to raise taxes off the public, yet they got criticized for not spending enough...
  8. It'll be a joke from a mate. They probably installed something on your phone so they could send weird messages. The rta might take mobile numbers, butthey don't ask what phone you have...
  9. Update: Epic hangover on Saturday meant I did sfa to the car and r32 anniversary meant no time on Sunday... Soon and it's all out!
  10. The police can, and will on occasions wait for a better point in time to pull someone over. If in Sydney, traffic may have been crawling at 10 - 20KM/H being it would have been near peak time, meaning, they'd wait until she pulled off a busy road to pull her over to not impede traffic flow. I'm going to take a guess, that you've been defected before for things like you were. I would also hazard a guess your body kit was not stock if the suspension was, otherwise, I'd say who ever passed your car did a half assed attempt and most of your suspension/bushes are flogged allowing the car to droop. Go join a truck company. My fathers partner works for one, and they have a person who deals ONLY with having to get defect notices etc cleared on a small fleet of 50 trucks. The RTA does the majority of pulling over trucks, as for speeding fines, they get pinged EVERYWHERE... Notice how they don't just have a single POINT to get pinged at, they have a time lapse setup over a 100km run etc.
  11. Soulblighter. Your car was from a roadworthy standard most likely inspected 12 months prior. In that 12 months, pretend a heap of your bushes flogged out and a tie rod that would be picked up for being unsafe as it was about to break, actually broke when you drove home forcing you head on into another vehicle or a pole/tree, after being "cautioned" and you, or your partner, or you newborn were seriously injured. Did you know that the police officer would then have failed to perform their duty of care and would be deemed responsible? Did you know that you hold ZERO insurance the moment a NSW car is unregistered? Did you know that that means you would then be likely crying about having to sue the NSW Police Service for failing their duty of care? Did you know that during this time you would likely lose most things financial as you would be trying to care for a critically injured person, pay for THOUSANDS of dollars worth of medical bills, as well as no longer owning that car? What if it wasn't the roadworthiness, but another driver who is carelessly driving without rego hit you? Now neither of you are covered by rego. As a procedural matter, the police are trained to define what the outcome should be, and stick to it. They most likely picked up some comment from you or your wife to each other like "Just get so and so to do blah", bam, they know you have family/friends available, and they'll stick to you having to get someone down. At the end of the day, if they are satisfied that no one is able to pick you up, they WILL arrange a police vehicle to transport you home. As to their discretion, did you know for your rego being lapsed, that the fine of $600 you received is not the only fine you can be handed? There are several more that come along with it, and the officer used their discretion not to give you those other fines...
  12. It sounds like you have an air lock in the system somewhere.
  13. Eh, I was taught to check my speedo every 10 seconds, and scan all mirrors in that time. You should always be scanning mirrors not just when you go to overtake, that way you know what you can/can't do in an emergency situation. It only takes 0.5 seconds to check your speedo, and around the same time to quickly glance at each mirror, it's not like you stare at it, grab a text book out, do some calculations and work your speed out 3 minutes later...
  14. Check the AFM... Sounds like it needs a clean...
  15. If they're setup in parallel, that'd be EASY. Each pump would have a check valve so if it does fail, fuel isn't pumped backwards through the pump. So between the pump and one way check valve, you'd installa fuel pressure gauge. Diagnosing which pump is failing isn't hard to do.
  16. Any exhaust shop will sell a cat to suit. If you want a genuine (not required as everyone would just buy a generic one anyway) you could order one through Nissan.
  17. Joe, personally I'd buy a new one. Cats are meant to be replaced every 60000km and most second hand cats are useless. That's if you actually have to do an emmisions test.
  18. The rta sets them below the safe speed because Australians have a mentality of "ten to twenty kays over is okay, I'm not a murderer" so the rta does a calculation of actual safe speed, minus the amount people will speed by (10 to 20) and then you have the speed limit. As for that Kiana section, I used to go down that road once every 2 weeks when it was a hundred zone, I passed a speed trap everytime, each time I go through there now ( a bit less often now) Ive seen a copper once... But yes, that zone change for those abiding by the limit is ridiculous, but as above people were actually doing 110 to 120 through there. Now they do 100... As for them hiding, it's to put in your mind they may be everywhere, keep to the limit all the time, unfortunately, this isn't working as people struggle to think of the consequences, hence why they now have signs up "speedin will cost you X" they wouldn't have to do any of this, if people would learn to stick to the limits, and don't drive like a tard... Unfortunately Aussies love to speed and/or crash. Oh, and I never used to be an angel on the road, but after being done twice and let off for another, I now stick strictly to the limit... I learnt my lesson the second easiest way.
  19. As for those of you botching about police gettin people for speeding on a straight section of road with nothing unsafe about it, funny statistic but 9 out of 10 crashes on highways occurs on a straight section of road. Das Kamu, I have a good group of friends, you know what's really good about them? They're all straight shooters who don't cry poor me. To the guy who's son got defected, at that time of night hwy will be on patrol looking for individuals and they'll do check ups, I've been in numerous situations like your sons, had a friendly chat with them, and they leave, on another night I've been out, seen the same copper ask the same stuff to some dip shits they were dicks back, he proceeded to hand them their ass in defects. Think when you were younger and something got you in shit, I bet you never told your parents exactly how it went down, you modified the story slightly to suit you better... Just like your son would have done to you. Just as the p plater would have done to her parents.
  20. It's been proven, time and time again, that 98% of the time, monkey see, monkey do. Why do you think most "areas" end up with a certain attitude of people? Because as kids grow up in that environment, they see it as normal behaviour to do as others. And when they've all given up, looking after your sorry ass, and every second night your house is broken into, your mothers raped and your fathers face smashed in, who will you then turn to? What you see on those police shows is NOTHING compared to what really happens. Could you even for the life of you, imagine what it would be like, being the officer who gets called out to a house because something doesn't seem right, to open the front door, and find a person has died 2 weeks ago and has been decaying since? Just that SMELL alone will haunt you for life. Grow up Das Kamu, because you, and everyone else knows, when the shit hits the fan, you'll go crying to the coppers for help. Secondly, your comments in this thread, and the other thread, show you know NOTHING of the police force and their procedures and what you have to do to get to different sectors of the police force.
  21. And this is why 99% of police officers won't do it. Although, as you admit to "giving it a hit" he could do you for street racing the other car if they were doing the same, which is most likely what prompted his attention. (The definition of "race" is fairly broad definition in regards to our Road Rules)
  22. Nope, not one bit. Basically every person who cries "They treated me poorly" after some digging, we find out they gave the copper shit, were abusive and uncooperative. Half the time those "kids just sitting in the park minding their own business" are actually being downright rude and annoying to everyperson around them. I say let the copper do it, because if we went back 30 years ago, they'd be dragged away somewhere, told what they were doing wrong, giving a hiding, and they'd never do it again. The worst an officer can do now is "Here's a fine, have a nice day". There's no respect for authority in our society any more, because people these days in Australia believe we DESERVE everything to be perfect. Go to America, say anything even slightly smart assed and you'll know about it from the copper. What does that mean for their society? Most people WILL NOT disobey an officer. Only the minority who are too stupid to know better and deserve it. Back in Australia, a guy died because he was tasered by an officer to subdue him recently, why didn't they use spray and just apprehend him you say? Well they attempted spray, but it was still to dangerous, rather then shoot him dead, they tasered him. He died. Now if he was being just a little more reasonable, he wouldn't have been sprayed, or tasered, and he'd still be alive today, probably without even getting a fine... But you know what? The NSW Police Force is now in shit for this. Because some wanker, endangered the lives of others, got bought down with some force, and died because it... I've NEVER had a run in with coppers that was bad, including when I've been busted for things, and I've been pulled over HEAPS of times, and they're always polite to me (And yes, that includes the female officers that everyone thinks are bitches)
  23. Exactly right. Secondly, the police officers side of the story was that she drove down the street with her seatbelt off, not that she took it off in the parking station. I would nearly lay money on it, from the release the police station made, that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt whilst driving, was pulled up in the parking station, told mum and dad she was booked for doing it to get a ticket from the machine so that they would feel sorry for her and help her pay the fine. I dont think 3 points and $300 is a bad fine, think about it this way. You're driving down the street, something goes wrong and you somehow have a head on accident with another driver, not wearing their seatbelt, both cars doing 50KM/H, the person with out a seat belt is most likely going to be SERIOUSLY hurt, if not killed... Now that's going to haunt you for the rest of your life because you were in an accident that should have been minor, and because they didn't do something that "only affects them" it now gives you night mares every night for the rest of your life... What would you rather, mental problems for life, or that a different driver is fined $300 and loses 3 points and hopefully learns a lesson the easy way? And as Kinks said, it is very often all about the attitude test. Most young people these days 100% fail it!
  24. PJ yes I have been booked for it before (But yes, I was speeding and did admit to a speed that was below what I was doing, but slightly over the limit) I got booked for what I admitted to. I since know 2 people who are in the force, very rarely does a police officer pull a car over on a visual estimation alone. Reason being, most of the time, it gets thrown out in court. Your problem, the court most likely won't throw it out as you're not a grandfather driving a dead standard Camry with a 10+ year clean driving record.
  25. This one is coming out and going in the bin AKA the for sale section... I'm going something a little different to my normal setup... Which means I'm starting from scratch and binning the lot...
