  1. Take the dead bodies out of the boot... Might shed a few kilos... How do you have a fully stripped car weighing so much? Also, to the dope asking if you double your torque will you accelerate twice as fast... Basically, YES. Torque = Force x Distance. Keep distance constant, double your torque, you had to double the torque. Acceleration = force / mass. From the above formula force just double, your mass has remained the same, therefore your acceleration just doubled. So long as you put the power to the ground (And we weren't debating that, you were debating power figures VS MPH/ET) A car that reads 400KW @ 10 000RPM HAS to be slower at its peak power rating (In terms of acceleration) compared to a car making 400KW @ 5000 RPM when it is at it's peak power rating... The 5000RPM car is pushing down double the torque!
  2. 99.9% chance I will NOT be making this day with my Skyline... Bastard just won't start... But just as an aside, anyone who has a timing light, can you take it to OP tomorrow just incase my car does make it there... The timing is sure to be out...
  3. Yo-Yo, should be fine man. Just take it easy the first sess or two and see what it does. My car won't start... Being a prick...
  4. No it's not... Head out to WSID... Maybe a car making 480RWHP at 9000RPM it is... But if it's pushing 480RWHP at 4500RPM... You're making double the torque... IE, it'll accelerate twice as fast... Edit: As to that video of the car "climbing" out of the dyno... I wouldn't even call that movement if you'd seen how mine used to walk around when coming on boost until we worked out how to strap it on perfectly... Car used to walk 1.5Ft sideways, and if it didn't go sideways, it'd climb OVER the front of the roller and nearly touch the front of the dyno... Oh, and the whole time it's doing this it's filling the work shop with tyre smoke... Took us a bit to work it out, but lower the ramp rate, and we actually LOOSENED one of the straps to stop it wheel spinning so much... Still shredded the tyres though in the end... And they were just normal streets!
  5. I'll be heading up to it, not sure on what car yet, but sounds good to do a meetup somewhere and cruise up.
  6. So... Motors in... Now to see if it starts...
  7. First actual TRACK day (Excludign skid pan etc) Was OP GP mid this year with SAU. Prep: Make the car run... It got it's final tune finish at midnight the night before. Favourite memories... Just a few... Having Brad (RISKIN) in the car and go, "Lets move to the opposite side of the track ready for the next corner" so I squeeze the throttle in 3rd, use a bit of tail slide and we're on the opposite side of the track, only steering input was oppy lock... Brad and I just laughing... Also, the amount of sideways I was getting coming off the bridge... Massive amounts of torque + Stock suspension = tail happy when lifting off throttle... Another fun memory was Brad yelling at me to over take the V8 Brute ute who was guiding us around... We were doign 130KM/H when I pinned it in 3rd and just had to catch the ass end from sliding, and wheel spun past the Ute... Things I learnt: Street tyres... With that much power... not FUN! Semis on the front, streets on the rear, a much nicer car to drive... I also learnt my motor was still a heap of shit even after the work that got done to it, and I smashed a big end bearing apart (My car is cursed, it can't go ANYWHERE, with out a catastrophic failure) My new motor that has been built for it, is built in the hope of throwing a rod at this OP Day...
  8. My phones (My alarms) change time automaticaly... And always f**k me up on daylight savings...
  9. I thought the RB25 was a non interference motor, ie, snap a belt, no issues except for motor stoppping... I've had my pistons at TDC before whilst changing heads etc, and spun the cams a full 180degrees each, and they don't hit... Explain how you guys smash valves? Or is teh RB20 an interference motor?
  10. I reckon... Don't know how many times I've lost skin from swapping engines... Oh wait... I'm missing a heap of skin down the side of one finger from swapping one RB25/30 for another RB25/30... Use the SEARCH!
  11. Stick to your story. That one is BS, and it will help your case be thrown out of court. Go to the servo, get the CCTV footage from the day if possible. It'll prove you right.
  12. I'm crying as the deadline for this looms closer and my car keeps breaking more and more parts...
  13. That's what I'm doing... Quite a few of them... Tomorrow night too... Only reason I'm not out there now is I need a part which held EVERYTHING up!
  14. Just checking, but my payment went through yeah?
  15. It's not yet... I just talk shit about my car... That reminds me... Time to sign off and go swap engines..
  16. Nick, Chubbs, Ando... Watch out for the white line... It's comign for you all! (Well... On the main straight anyway... Damn corners... LOL) Bought race seat + harness today... Now to get it running this weekend... See you boys and girls there...
  17. The place I work for does heaps of work in that place... Maybe I should walk over there, cause I'll be across the road today...
  18. I missed it all... And just to inform you all, it's actually national Ranga day...
  19. Nah man, you'll be fine the next day. Skirmish doesn't tire you (Well me anyway) as much as people say
  20. Anyone at all?
  21. Yes, yes you should be taking it to the track. It's your car until money is exchanged and signatures put on rego transfer! Take it and have some fun... Rip an epic skid, and show Steve how much he can't drive your car... ROFL
  22. Back to P1
  23. Can you do a better photo with the Neo head, with the 25 head gasket on it? Mainly straight on, not on an angle, even if it's just one cylinder. From that angle it appears like a 20DE head.
  24. Hey all, I have an RB20 head at my mums, that I'm hoping is an RB20DET head, as I want the valve springs out of it if it is. How am I able to tell if it's an RB20DE or DET head when it's already stripped down? It's basically head with cams in it. Is there any differences in RB20DE and DET valve springs?
