  1. I'm about to redo my 25/30... As a slapper. Until the full motor gets built. I just want my car back, and I forsee either another spun bearing or a piston through the block... And really, I'll just stand there and giggle if it does go that way... Because hell, this ones getting built for under $1000... (Be aware, all I need is a block and gaskets... Oh, and doing the sump)
  2. If you're unaware of it, then you're not reading much of the forum are you? Time to go read a few of the drag threads... Oh, and I never said they weren't quick once worked. But to compare a fully stripped out, with a heap of work done Honda, to a factory one, now that would be dumb wouldn't it? You're suddenly starting to use facts that lie OUTSIDE of the box, to win you're arguement? The question was lightly modded car, that with a good driver, could crack it into a very high 12/flat 13, versus a standard car that would do what, mid 14s at best? Then suddenly you make it stock for stock, then it's suddenly an exhaust + boost vs a modified Honda, now it's "let's use completely stripped out and worked honda's to show how awesome they are" I have no problem with the whole they can go, but really, they don't for all the hype they get. Like comeon, why buy a honda, bolt ons and strip it to run 12s, when instead you could buy a commodore, throw an exhaust on, wack a cam in, and go run flat 11s?
  3. It gets up and onto boost in 1st, but if you're trying to keep traction, you'll never see boost... I struggle to climb onto boost in 2nd with out shredding the tyres... Actually... Ask Brad (RISKIN) about it... It also struggled to do any form of accelerating in 3rd down the main straight of OP GP... Purely because just by touching the throttle in 3rd at 130km/h, it stepped out sideways... Yes, I love the fact I have this thing called torque... Also, sounds like gotRice can't drive if he's done the bolt ons, and is running high 13s... Most others with bolt ons on a R33 are doing super high 12s/ flat 13s... (With a good driver) And you magically know how long I've been around cars for? Maybe you feel like you're having trouble understanding what people are telling you... PS: Pushing 200 at the rears on my 25, I was side stepping the clutch, on street tyres, at 3500RPM... Tyres would chirp, rear would bog down... Car would launch... Wouldn't spin again after that... Maybe you needed to invest in better tyres?

  6. A VG30... is not laggy... I have a turbo that doesn't come on full song to around 4000RPM and that's in a roll on 4th... Doesn't really get right up on boost in 1st... But by second it snaps immediately to full boost and just romps all the power down... A VG30 is SLIGHTLY laggier then stock (IE, a couple of hundred RPM at WORST, IE full boost at like 2800RPM) if it's taking you 2 gears to get your VG30 up on boost, I think you also f**ked it up. As I said, the Honda's are really only "quick" in the first 2 gears, after that, they have no legs... You guys commented "side by side in 1st and 2nd then I pulled away" IE, the R33 is the same speed in the 1st 2 gears as the Honda, but the R33 keeps pulling in the upper gears, where as, the Honda runs out of power... Oh and to the guys quoting "A honda puts out XXX KW" stop with the bullshit about power! It might win bragging rights, but it FAILS at the strip. Torque wins races! My car was only "claimed" at 250RWKW... In the short time that it ran, my tuner passed the comment it would obliterate most 300RWKW skylines... if it ever got traction... Brad (RISKIN) even commented it seemed to have more straight line go then his GTR... (PS, last I heard it makes 480AWKW... )

  8. Wait wait wait... So I was right... The Civic is quicker in the 1st two gears then the Skyline is... Wow... Fancy that... The FWD POS run out of legs up top. PS: As to comparing a Jazz to a honda "performance" car (I feel dirty using honda and performance in the same sentence with out the word *not*), you asked what I drive daily at the moment, you did not ask a list of Hondas I've been in and driven. PPS: I don't keep a list of shit cars I've been in, so I can't clarify it perfectly for you...

  13. Cass man, you were doing some awesome 180 degree turns around the end of the "Race ya mate" track. Looked impressive watch you come out of the and just have to hold opposite lock for so long!
  14. Stock 03 Jazz. 40/50KM/h in 1st at 6300 RPM 95km/h in 2nd at 6300RPM 125 - 130 KM/h in 3rd at 6300RPM is what I can work out. 2nd gear I'm definite that's what it'll do. The other 2 I'll calculate out tomorrow for sure... But those speeds are basically what it'd do. Tacho shows redline at 6300RPM. Skyline was 60, 100, 170, 220 from memory all at 7000RPM... so only just off in terms of speed at redline... but redline in the jazz is 700RPM earlier... That's ALOT when you're talkign up at 130KM/h... If you stretched it to 7000RPM, that's 145km/h... Still alot lower then the R33, but my son of rajab, when they're lacking the torque of an RB25... It's MASSIVE!!!

  16. Haven't tried an R... But the Honda POS I drive on a daily basis revs WAYYYY too high, even when just cruising... When you accelerate, it just sounds like it's making noise... Nothing else... 3500RPM whilst "cruising" at 100km/h and that's in 5th! 1st is really short, then second is uber tall compared to 1st, but not 'too' bad... then 3rd is just a bit taller then 2nd, but enough so that if you get below 4000RPM it won't go any where...

  19. Out of the Honda's I've driven, they're just DEAD once you're out of 2nd gear... 1st gear, nice and short and snappy, 2nd gear not too bad... 3rd... just wayyyyyy too tall...

  21. The big problem with the Hondas, is they struggle BADLY above 80 - 100KM/h They're quick off the mark, and through corners, but struggle above 100KM/h when stock.

  23. Doof: I believe I took footage of your car, on my mates cameras. And a few photos I snapped after everything was packed up. They'll probably look shit, as this was the Camera I bought up, and I was too hungover to be bothered to work out all the settings on it...
