  1. You need to go to MDTC, and then tell me how it won't get your adrenalin going.
  2. If I had some spare cash, these would probably be gone now.
  3. Just hit the fuel pump with a hammer and she'll be right hey?
  4. Will be interested to see this thing go in a couple of weeks. You will have it ready right?
  5. Unbolt engine and gearbox. lift it up slightly, pull it forwards, give yourself 6 inches to unbolt gearbox. Slide gearbox off engine and out of car. Lift engine vertically.
  6. Make sure you drop the sump. If it's out, might be worth changing the oil pump too to something like a Nismo.
  7. No, the LT1. And how are chev oldschool?
  8. Stay twins, and it's not hard to do in the car, but I highly suggest pulling the sump off too and checking the oil pickup isn't blocked, which means pull the engine
  9. I'll give you a hand if I get to keep the engine
  10. You mean Lysaghts where it still operates and isn't vacant? To put one anywhere, you're going to need to be looking south, all of the areas that you could potentially put a drag strip are either already marked out for the freeway extension/detour around towns, or are already in planning stages for development of housing. You may be well better off speaking with those in Nowra whom are already pushing for a drag strip (And I believe it has been before council down there also). I can't think of any land around the Wollongong/Shellharbour region that would be level enough, and far enough from housing to allow a drag strip at all. As Tats mentioned, you will need to build a good business case!
  11. You're going to bulldoze the mountains? Just drive 1.5 hours and use a top notch internationaly recognised track!
  12. Aus post arrived! Cheers Damo!
  13. Nothing like a turbo car. The power will actually be instantaneous. If you have a turbo that comes on only over 4K, even once you're over those revs and stand on it, it takes time for power to appear. Sounds like some people may be surprised at how much a very driveable lower powered engine can still pull a lap time down.
  14. Not gunna happen. We don't have any where to put it.
  15. Oh sweet! Auspost should turn up today!
  16. Awesome! So hopefully here tomorrow! (I'm guessing was sent on the weekend?)
  17. Work out where the restriction is. Where is your boost source for the waste gate connected to? What's the cat like? Whats the TMIC on the patrol like?
  18. Give no f**k for anything below 3/4 Thousand RPM.
  19. If they did I'd have to chase them down the road...
  20. Mine costs me absolutely nothing each year. And I have two of them!
  21. Above is a good asking price guide given by Charles. Personally I'd probably offer you 6 or 7K for it. It's an early S2 so age is against it, and very few mods.
  22. It cost me $120 for a 24 hour hire on a flat be from one of the servo places. As it's a national company you can pickup in one state, deliver in another. I suggest you pickup in QLD, drop off in Vic. Hire it for 3 days. $360. Pretty cheap option IMO, and will probably save you $150 in fuel on the leg up as you're not towing 400 - 800KG for no reason on the way up. Something to make sure you get is plenty of straps, and make sure you carry 5L of oil with you, and 20L of water plus some tools. Towing a car from QLD to VIC could put a bit of strain on your tow vehicle and make something pop that you're not prepared for.
  23. I know, and that's why it'll be interesting to compare. This is going to be pretty much the opposite. OP Feels this will make the same, if not more power then a 25/30 N/A as he's staying SOHC. So it will be a good comparison.
  24. You would need to know how to repair carbon fibre. Do you want it for the CF look, or the fact it's light weight?
  25. I have a series 2 Carbon bonnet sitting beside my house...
