  1. Just thinking about it, put it on a wheel aligner mark, pull the car down (Strapping the rear down only) until your tyres touch the guards. Then slowly release the straps until you're 30mm off the guards. Set camber to 0 degrees at this point. You were previously squatting hard enough to touch the guards, you've now raised 40mm, so allow an extra 10mm for further squat. See how you go.
  2. Put a bigger propeller on it!
  3. Mark, you need to figure out a method to measure how far your car is actually squatting on launch. From there, strap the car down so the suspension is compressed down that far. I'd then set the car up to still have the MINUTEST touch of positive camber. You should then be pretty darn close to 0 when you actually launch it. As you'll have more grip then you currently have, it'll squat the slightest bit further, and that previous minute amount of pos camber becomes 0 camber.
  4. Bugger that! THE GREAT RACE IS ON!
  5. I've used a few of the digital ones, do not like. THey're just not as nice to use in my opinion.
  6. I am led to believe you can renew your CAMS licence online, and if you get some form of print out to prove that you have renewed it you should be fine.AASA I'm not sure of.
  7. So do we know if there will be an internet stream of the race?
  8. Go read the "Good Tow Cars" thread in the motor sport section. This exact question by multiple people, lots of different options. If you're looking at the Turbo Territory, if it is running the ZF gearbox like the XR6T does avoid it for towing.
  9. Both of my boats are grounded
  10. I think you will find entering an event, is going to be completely different to working for a "full on" race team as a pit crew member which is what that motorsport tafe course will teach you.
  11. If that's the case, they will be a cast header, and the passenger one should just fit.The drivers side won't. It will foul on all things nice and Nissan.
  12. Now sure what you mean by career path, but come play. Ive never done an official hill climb before and I'm just about to finish a car to come play in the state champs and some other local events. Don't be scared! PS the only reason Neil hasn't been bitten by anyone at a state champ meet yet is because he's the one that bites
  13. No he doesn't, or he'd have said a Ti. Ti= SSS without the badge or insurance policy high prices.
  14. Did you only ever lose a race because you had a boost leak?
  15. In Aus, we get this motor from a company called Holden, they have a more "superior" company that sell "better" versions of these cars made by a company called HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) So they have better extractors on them etc. I can take some pictures showing the differences. What extractors are you using?
  16. Stu, I saw you down here at Huntley the other week, didn't get a chance to say Hi again, but pardon te French f**k ME that thing hauled up Huntley! Even the guys who have been around that track 20+ years were shocked at the times it rolled out like it was nothing. I think I heard a 23second run? That's moving for a tin top! Especially with the outright record only 5 seconds away!
  17. I should be there.
  18. f**k off Mulder!
  19. Angle Grinder, remove guards... Also, well done on an 11!
  20. Inner guard is completely different to the chassis rail. I think the OP should confirm where he intends to cut. I also advise once cut to put some extra metal bracing like VSI06 advises. I have a 33 GTSt that had that same hole cut in it, previously owner had a minor bingle, inner guard crumpled WAYYY more then it should have if the hole hadn't been cut.
  21. Im sorry, but I have to ask, WHY are you going through the middle of the chassis? I can understand cutting a touch off the ends of the rails, but it you're inside the radiator support, don't go through the chassis rail!
  22. You guys have to rev to 2500RPM? Stop revving so damn hard! I only rev my coon to 2500, maybe 3000RPM if I want to go somewhere f**king quickly. Otherwise, keep her below 2000RPM all the way, cruise at 100KM/H smack on 1500RPM... And it pulls hills at that Oh, and freeway does 8L/100KM with 4 adults cruising at 110 - 120KM/H, with a few hits here and there.
  23. Damn... Where's Detective Tung-Yep when you need him?
  24. Not a Good enough attempt IMO. He didn't stay straight enough...
