  1. I looked up driving from Wollongong to Perth after just driving to Melbourne and Back From Wollongong to Perth, I was looking at 36 hours of continuous driving IIRC. For Perth to Melb, it's 37 hours... So four days of driving if you do 8 hours a day. If you're the only driver, that's VERY tiring. You'll want to break it down, and take a whole week to drive there. And then a day or two to recover... Secondly fuel prices. I took my XR6T down and back with 4 adults, we were doing 8.5L/100KM pretty much. Seeing how it's 3,400KM there, and the same back, if you average my fuel economy, and get fuel at around $1.50 a litre, you're looking at $433 each way to drive it... (I think)... I run 98 or 95, and most of the time I was finding it at $1.60... (And I copped a bad tank of fuel that put economy out at 13L/100km!) So it can be expensive, but if you have multiple people, it's cheaper. But it can get VERY draining just driving... My trip to Melb was fine, went past very quickly... The return trip, I think I'd prefer chineese water torture...
  2. Yeah, there is lots of bull shit in the FG I've been finding. Stalled up on the brake it's normally pretty slow till about 40KM/H then all hell breaks loose, but roll off the mark and tramp it at 10KM/H and it will near instantly fry the tyres. They added a lot of electronic wizadry as each new version of the XR6T comes out. It also gets off the mark differently dependent on whether you're in boring auto mode, performance auto mode, manual mode, and whether DSC is on or off. 6 Different ways it decides to get off the mark makes it interesting... LOL But in the end, there's nothing like the fun of side stepping the clutch with a heap of revs built up... LOL I'll give texi a crack one day in it, unless the R33 is back on the road... So chances are you'll see the orange FG having a crack... LOL
  3. Turn your one way valve on the brake booster around and have no brakes again...
  4. That's self explanatory... I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware nothing happened for the other 3 weeks and 6 days... To anyone who goes out in Fatz group, you will need to dodge the empty beer cans and bottles as they fall out of the engine bay.
  5. Yeah... The bitch told me I couldn't come on this cruise... I didn't even bother to lie...
  6. I went to Morgan Park once, stayed a few nights. That Duncan fella sure can snore. And those QLD folk are strange... They even let the wiggles go out racing... Best viewing point... On top of the bridge for sure... Cost to stay: I dunno. Too busy working on cars to count...
  7. Nothing to do with the handbrake. The XR6T FG is a bit intrusive on take off with it's torque management software, and as such is way too slow off the mark for my liking. The manual on the other hand has launch control.
  8. At about 7AM in the morning, let her know you're going out to buy some Milk. Return later that day with Milk + Chocolate for her...
  9. In true fatz style I expect you to drink beer for 3 weeks and 6 days, and then swap the motor on the last night.
  10. So I take it the workshop doors be open on Monday? If they are and I'm not too rooted from the weekend, I'll grab the trailer and make a trip up to yours for the bumper etc to get it out of your way.
  11. You better have sorted your scrubbing Neil... I don't wanna be playing on your monkey bars again to get the shock out again! That and I hope you have your passenger seat in...
  12. From memory you actually have to take the front bumper off to get to that bolt, it's a PITA. I don't think you'll find it worth it either, by removing the light you're potentially allowing air into the engine bay in a different spot then intended, and this can decrease how much air goes through your radiator and IC...
  13. I'll have to update it Dan, so gimme a week or two, going away very soon and busy as.
  14. If you want some thing like that built in the Sydney-ish region, venture to Wollongong and go visit ETM (Extreme Turbo Manifolds). Extremely good work!
  15. It might be super cheap... Oh wait... That's most R33 GTS-t...
  16. That big blue taxi makes me wish my Falcon were manual...
  17. Jarrad, no issues doing that with the head light, but it can be a PITA getting them in and out. especiallt if you haven't done it before.
  18. Or check the engine bay fuses...
  19. That's just telling you you can backoff the pace a little bit and still win the race...
  20. Just a response on this. There was a track day I was at... Someone went out with a very similar setup... He spent about 5 minutes at the end of his session searching the top of wakefield park trying to find his iPhone... Yep, cradle came loose under hard cornering and the iPhone and cradle exited left of stage...
  21. I is in. Only one of me at this stage. I'm working on cloning though... LOL Might have possible 2 more, but probably not. Will let you know.
  22. Hey Pete, best price on defi gauges...
  23. Beat advice? Keep te engine as stock as possible, and get out to track days and sprints. No point having 400 KWs if you havent learnt to drive a car properly in anger yet. Throwing money at a car does not make you quick. Practice does.
  24. As Owen said, SAU NSW Membership grants you access to the clubs engine crane.
