Just Wondering If I Were To Sell My Non-Turbo Skyline R33 S1
MBS206 replied to SKY-2NV's topic in New South Wales
It really does depend on the honest value of the car. There are so many R33 GTS-t that are around for the 5K price bracket you really have to check out what the market is doing. -
Yeah, alot of guys get around that with RPM switches.
-
That's only a train ride or 2 day postage to get it there... Ship stuff in and out of WA alot. (Not car parts). If you're going to mod it, go and speak with the engineer, tell them what you're doing, and see what they will want from you to engineer it and what it'll cost. Also, the engineering certificate number comes up on the registration when run by the police, after mine was engineered I never got pulled over randomly (Except into like properly setup RBTs)

You should actually be able to use your RB20 loom. Convert the sensors from your RB20 into the RB25, and it should work. Check the coil packs, but I am certain this is how most guys are doing it in the R32s. This would save you having any cut wires etc.

I bought it second hand off a mate who'd honestly used it long enough to dyno the car, and drive maybe 2 tanks of fuel on it. RRP is $2500 IIRC...
-
And mine will be done when he finishes my motor install...

Hey all! Not sure how many of you are aware, but SAU:NSW is heading to WSID shortly. If any one feels like getting in, and running over 40 times down the strip in a day to really sort you and your car out, then you should head on down. In comparison to a normal Wednesday night, you're getting 60% more value for money in comparison of doing 40 runs over multiple Wednesday Nights! For more info head to: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/364933-s-a-u-n-s-w-private-wsid-drag-racing-day/ Cheers, Matt

Hey Guys, I know there's alot of people in this area that are from NSW, but may not actually visit the NSW section of these forums very much. What you guys may not be aware of by not visiting, is the number of motorsport and social events that SAU:NSW actually hold. Just recently we completed Round 2 of the SAU:NSW Vs Renew lap battle, we're about to run another Texikhana on June the 12th (Sold out) and two more texis this year, as well as Round 3 of the SAU:NSW Vs RENEW lap battle. Another event that you're all more then welcome to attend is SAU:NSW's Drag Day at Western Sydney International Dragway. For more info on the drag day, check it out at: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/364933-s-a-u-n-s-w-private-wsid-drag-racing-day/ The next Texi and Wakefield threads have been opened to our members so far, so if you want to secure a spot (These events are always a sell out!) feel free to join the club. After all, the R35 is a apart of the Skyline Heritage, and we want you guys to come play too!

So you'll be able to hear static over 80 channels now when you press the PTT button on the console Duncan?
-
So, just put a few more bits and pieces on order... Last thing I need to buy for a while will be the loom for the ECU itself... Then I go back to the waiting game
-
Side Pipes... Pfftttt... Screamer out the side through the guard...
-
You should get that problem looked at...
-
So... I told you all Craved returned some parts to me... He did an excellent job... I've also got the new ECU in... Just waiting on the loom so it can be wired up. I've also been playing with the headlights and trying to clean them up... Might have to send them away to be profesionally done though... Yay... More money... LOL I also bought the starter motor that was required so Brad can start modding the steering rack... I think he's lost his camera too We did find out though, that custom extractors are the ONLY way to go... Yay... More money... LOL

Change the settings to tell it to pause on a BSOD, then google the error code.
-
This is why you need a GTR... AWD = no chains.

Loose wires somewhere?

When I engineered my car, I was running the "normal" skyline mods. FMIC, ECU, Custom POD box, suspension, mags, clutch and flywheel, front bar cut out, etc. That was when it cost me around $400. The more mods you do, the more it will cost, and normally ends up around $1500 at the worst for the most extreme setup. I never actually had my RB30DET and TD07S engineered, as it didn't run for long enough to get the car emmissioned tested, it only ever went to the track with this setup. I was told by an engineer, it would be about $950 back then to have it done. When you consider I'd dropped around 15K in converting the car over and doing more extensive stuff to it... $1000 was nothing... I'm currently rolling between 10 - 15K into the car again converting it to a V8, engineering costs will be about the same. Again, it's not even 10% of what I'm paying for my big setup... It's not that big of a cost, especially when it means I can drive the car on the road again. You need to think about it, by the time you've put new mags on, swapped the suspension, bought a new ECU and had the car tuned, FMIC and the other little tid bits, you've probably spent around $5000 or more on it. To have a piece of paper for a top price of lets say even $1500! It's a nothing ness, and it really is a good thing to have. It protects your pride and joy from the police.

I better ring my cage builder and make sure he knows before I strip the car for him...
-
That's the thing... It's not expensive. When I first engineered my car, it cost me $400 total. That was the noise test, eng cert, and blue slip to have it noted on my rego.

If you're cruising, at the same load points as with the boot in... You have an issue don't you... Because you know cruising is part throttle, low air flow (And there's an air flow meter at the intake) and flogging it is WOT meaning lots of air. The load is determined by air intake... If you're using the same load point for both, something is f**ked...

Hey Dave, It sucks that this happened, from another comment you made else where, where you live is a perfectly fine environment for a skyline. They get stolen from even the best suburbs. I truly hope that they haven't killed the car on you, as I know how much you loved it. I do have a heap of bits and pieces you can have (Interior ones) if they fit your car and need them to repair it.
-
My car was 100% street legal yes. It was engineered. That's how it was legal. It's currently being rebuilt at the moment, and will then be engineered. That's how it will be street legal. Secondly, people are being idiots in here too, the variable mufflers are ILLEGAL FFS! Once you learn to not do stupid illegal shit, we'll all be better for it.
