  1. Thanks heaps for the info guilt toy. So you didn't put a stock T3 VL Turbo on uir RB25DET? You had a T3/4 highflo? How can a T3 which is a bigger turbo make less power. Mine isn't hiflo so it won't be that much laggier than stock 25 turbo
  2. Could I just get steel wheels put in a stock 25 turbo for like 600$? No modification, like machining etc
  3. do_Ob ??? Well u can get a split dump pipe and cut the wastegate pipe away from where it joins on the dump. Extend that and close up the hole in the dump. Fake screamer Or get a big turbo with no internal wastegate, and slap on an external waste gate = real screamer
  4. Firstly: ZOMG HUGE SCREAMING TEXT ROFLCOPTER !!!1!1!!onehundredandeleven!!!1! Secondly: The 430 would not be able to make more than 240rwkw and thats at max situation. The 480 would be good. Less lag and good midrange. The 560 would be laggy, but definitely make the power. KKR turbo's are not the best. Better bet is a RB25DET high flow'd turbo from GCG. Or a HKS GTRS or 2835. They will make the power you want.
  5. I have seen a few boys run just uinder 300rwhp with stock turbo's. Pal and Skyryan if I remember correctly
  6. I got 291rwhp @ 13psi on a stock RB25DET with wolf 3d v500, 3" zorst with custom dump, FMIC. Dyno could have read high, but thats fine. So the T28 @ 14 psi ~ T3 @ 15psi, at a guestimate. I know T3's don't make 300rwhp on standard RB30ET' with FMIC and zorst. But with the RB25DET having DOHC and a higher compression ratio, I think its possible. The the engine is down 500cc, the turbo is a bit bigger, not ball bearing and not ceramic so it would have a bit more lag. But i reckon it would even out. I literally just want to replace the stock 25 turbo with a steel one so its reliable. I have the T3 turbo, lines and dump pipe. I don't mind getting a custom front pipe to match, and a few turbo lines to get it connected. I think I would just have to rotate the comp housing. So it would cost ~600$ instead of 2000$ for a highflow.
  7. Well the RB25DET turbo is a certain size right. It was a T28 with a T3 flange. It was undersized for a RB2DET as per factory standard. It is good for 300rwhp, but usually at like 14 or 15 psi. At that pressure the ceramic rear wheel is likely to shatter. Now the RB30ET is a T3. So its slightly bigger. Its has a steel wheel so it won't blow up. But I hear they run out of puff at 15psi+. So if I run the T3 on the RB25DET, then in theory it should still make 300rwhp.
  8. Oh sorry. The car was a R32 GTS, = RB20DE, which was swapped for a RB25DET from a R33.
  9. Well as from my sig you guys can see some of my cars' stats. I now have a RB25DET with a stock ceramic, ball bearing RB25 turbo. I am running 291rwhp @13psi It will eventually blow up, and may go into the engine. I can't afford to fix that. So I have a VL T3 turbo from a RB30ET which is steel wheel'd and has journal oil bearing. It is watercooled. So anyway. I want to slap the T3 on the RB25DET. I only want to run the 15 or so psi the T3 is good for so the car can make 300rwhp and not be laggy. I also have all the water and oil lines from both turbo's and the dumpipe/wastegate setup for the T3. Would it work?
  10. So which is the good turbo? The one from the VG30ET or the VG30DET? Ceramic or steel? Was that from a Z31 300zx?
  11. So the rear housings for single turbo VQ30's is more like the RB25 neo housing?
  12. SR20: S13, S14 use T25's with T25 flanges SR20: S15 uses T28 with T25 flange RB20 uses a T25 with a T3 flange - ceramio exhaust wheel RB25 uses T28 with a T3 flange - ceramic exhaust wheel RB25NEO ... T3 flange - Nylon exhaust wheel RB30 uses T3 with a T3 flange - Steel wheels is that correct? What does a 300zx use then? The big single turbo ones? Much different to the VL T3 turbo?
  13. I got some more pics. Yeah, it seems to have water lines/banjo bolts
  14. So if its a VL turbo, why does it say nissan motor on the front? Is it a T28 turbo internals or T3 internals? What I can sort of make out/read: It has F6.11.22 emmossed on the compressor outlet. It also has PAT NO 3058787 AIRSEARCH embossed on the back of the compressor housing. It also has OYJ N5S embossed on the exaust housing inlet. The dump pipe has 649 @ KN71 embossed on it. Tha actuator says AS VALVE ASN82-10 Does that help?
  15. I got this turbo. I would like to know what it is. Where its from? Who make it? Any info on it would be appreciated PICS: Cheers
  16. So do GCG still make the XTRGTST-GT3071R or not? I enquired about a hiflo RB25 turbo and they said ~2000$. It would be ball bearing. They told me they make a Garret GT3071R kit that will fit the 25 for ~3000$/ But I don't know what the exhaust housing is like. Whether it is the standard RB25DET 6 bolt setup or not...
  17. Greg89's car is very nice. Its a GTS4. So it has AWD = which is very safe for young inexperienced drivers in wet etc. Its a nissan which means its reliable. If you don't mod it, the car will run well for ever. The R32 is light, that one has a 2L turbo engine. So it would fuel economic on freeway. Its only a 2L turbo which means it would put out like 150rwhp. Which is around the same as a 2000 Commodore. But would handle better. Its a unique car and shows you are not just another knuckle head bogan who wants an auto V8. That particular car will have a full vertex copy kit and GTR bonnet/grille on it in about a week or two. So it will look killer. Will only cost just under 10K then. It has new exhaust and coil overs. Which means you won't have shagged 20 year old suspension = dangerous. It has a new clutch, which means it won't need to be replaced anytime soon. So that will save the kid/dad money. Tyres have 70% tread = also good. New coil packs, which are usually expensive to replace. To me thats like a 1999 wrx. AWD, turbo and reliable. Not a GTR or crazy off chops R34 GTT. Safe enough. Unless you drive like and idiot. Def get it. My 2 cents
  18. I got is aswell. Have got like 3 of these spam messages. Same with over boost. Never got any on R31 club forum. But I hear that the SAU forums tries to get hacked like 20 times a day
  19. It should cost $1100 depending who you go with. That is from Toll Auto-trans. There are different companies like pacific national also. It might be less. I remember it being 850 for someone. But that might have been from adelaide only.
  20. The car has been resprayed. Thats why it looks so good. Nice work bro. Good to see you got a good one. Enjoy
  21. Awwesome dude. I Love it when people drive imports that aren't race based. Gald your represent'n nissan still. Is it V8 auto? or what?
  22. I agree with this post. The Media is a very bad part and Politicians are doing silly stuff. Like Chaser's war on everything taking the piss of ACA and TT. Cos they are bogus. Its all about ratings, people watching adverts etc. The government should do something responisble. Like add more advanced driver training. Make it compulsory. And make getting your license harder. So less people die. not just lower the speed limit cos one guy fell asleep at the wheel on a long drive in the country. There is a limit to how much you can do to stop people dying on roads. Speed camera's are just revenue rasing. They should organise and build a track/area for people to enjoy their cars safely. Like a 1km square piece of tarmac with huge sand pit barriers before you get close to tyres and wall. So you don't kill yourself or damage your car. Or just a track like Collie, closer to perth and cheaper than Barbs. So that we have an easy alternative to "street fun". But cos they are not doing what they should, people go and do it on the street anyway. Hence causing danger in some cases. Hence they get targeted. Poly problem example: One guy used to do bathurst racing a decade ago. He is now a Poly and wanted to ban space saver spare tyres. WTF. Cos they were too dangerous to drive on fast and for a long while. Well DUH!. They are ment to get you to a tyre shop so your other tyre gets fixed. Not todrive on for months and at 110km/h. So he wants full size spares in your boot = less space for shopping, bags, or golf clubs. STUPID
  23. Cheers man, that makes sence. I thought all I would have to set was max boost and it would be good to go, but apparently not. So would it be something like my wastegate on stock turbo has a 6psi spring. So if I have a 50% duty cycle would produce a 11psi setting? What should my spring pressure (wastegate crack) be?
  24. So if I want my car to run 12psi and it runs 6 stock. What do I have to set it to? I don't want my car to run 15+ cos then the turbo will explode.
