Hey guys. After reading someone else's thread about turbo whine I thought my intercooler piping might be off cos they said it would blow black smoke and struggles to rev past ~4000rpm. Well seeing as the sun was shining and I could see unlike last time. I checked all my Inter cooler piping. Then went through and checked all my vacuum lines. Check everything. All were fine except one that was only a lil bit out of the connector pipe. Saw there are cable tie wear marks, plumbed it back in, slapped on a New cable tie and she is sweet. Must be the vacuum line to the ECU. Thanks Al. Sorry for being a bit stupid before. Car is making big power again, Runs and Idles perfectly. Cheers boys

White smoke when car is cold = evaporating water condesation White smoke when accelerating = oil < from turbo, oil rings > Blue smoke if what desiels blow normally, Black smoke is octane. Either over fueling or not enough spark. Is it making same power as before. If its just has a rich tune or lack of tune and is running rich it will blow black smoke = over fuel. Thats fine.

Can be done. Engine mounts will be a problem. But the actual gearbox should bolt up to the SR20 if you have a series 3 R31 skyline. Have u asked on the R31 skyline forums. Big forum that specialises in just R31's

Purple really clashes with the orange indicators. They Stock GTR look good with them cos its a distinguishing feature on them. Go clear indicators, tinted makes headlights look too small, and cops don't agree with the tinting

Be careful. If its the bearing then the turbo will be spinning out of alignment. Hence the fins are spinning into the housing. Slowly feeding ur engine small metal filings. Did the boost gauge move to like 10psi? or nothing? Blow IC piping = no + boost

Oh so ur a UK boy? Well well well. So most boy racers have FWD cars in UK. cos insurance is so expensive and so far away from the japan imports that we get more readily. There are more terms like rice burner is generally small displacment turbo engines from japan. There is also chook cooker. (chicker cooker) which is a rotary engine (roticary). Boy racers here are generally Evo's and Sti's because they are of the few Jap performance cars sold currently in Aus

Legal in WA. Not legal in Vic or NSW. This is due to front facing speed camera's on cop cars. So they can get ur speed when driving towards you. That is not used over east. So u win some, you loose some.

They will only not pass or take the sticker off for things like car is too low, suspsension too stiff, too loud, oil leaks in engine, locked diffs. They are unlikely to see the hicas bar, shouldn't fail u for that. but if paint it, 100% pass. mine passed with one

Be careful with the GFB boost controller. They do all the bad stuff. Spike, creep etc. So if u set it to 10 and goes to 13+ your turbo can blow up due to the rear wheel being ceramic. Rather get a ball and spring valve of ebay for like 35$.

The head light thing is in the Learn to drive handbook when u get ur L's. Along with the rule about having stuff that obstructs vision in cars like fluffy dice or toys on dash.

Nah. 3rd party fire and theft is the best way to go. It will only bite you if U crash cos u weren't paying attention. Its only there if u crash into that 100,000$ Merc. Otherwise ur car could get stolen if parked somewhere suss. Comprehensive is a Joke, unless ur car is worth 50K and ur over 25.

Here in WA as long as they don't impair vision and sit too high over dash like higher than steeringwheel its fine. But u can always put steeringwheel to highest setting if u get stickered and have to go over pits.

Do the simple things: Degrease engine bay and gearbox. Make sure car is as said 100mm of ground everywhere. Headlights are 500mm of ground. Put in silencer to exhaust. Depending on which PITS you got they have different ways of test height. They usually drive over a speed bump. If it scrapes, too low. Pits have different height ones. Heard welshpool is 85mm and another one is 140mm Fan shroud is just a way of getting you stickered cos u wouldn't know the regulations about it. Similar to tyres. How do you disprove that they weren't bald when the cop issued sticker. So have good tire depth. Gadgets aren't illegal as long as they are not inpairing vision of drive. But yeh, stickers are a cops way of making it harder for you as a car enthusiast. And to scare people.
