I heard somewhere.. that the reason some workshops suggest 2 X Z32 AFM's is because the Z32 afm has a broader band sensor inside.. and thus has higher mapping areas.. Where as the Q45. although bigger the Sensor inside is not as broad ranged.. and is limited in the way of fine tuning.. Don't flame.. its just what i've heard - Please correct me? Cheers

Aww. my Stupid Turbo is too Stupid big and it surges under load. and hence will just start surging in 4th gear on the dyno. So i think i wont even be able to put her on the dyno.. Im pretty cut because i was all excited. But im still going to come and watch you all lay out the numbers and have a good time with you all. See you all tomorrow. Adz

I never thought it would run Any good with the standard ecu. im currently in the market for an aftermarket ecu.. still weighing up my options. i was just hoping it to actually just make a reading so i can compare it to the dyno tuning when i finally get my aftermarket setup. i can have the turbo on as low as 7 psi. obviously though as i thought its a Rb20 " beinge to small" to push the turbo problem.. something thats not really gonna be easy to fix. oh wells.. i'll just sit and watch.. Hey guys, i really need a hand trying to get my car not to surge under load.. I recently installed a larger turbo to my car of a T3/T4 nature.. using an Rb25 exhaust housing bored out and steel wheels with a t4 compressor wheel 60mm blade. This setup is running on my Rb20 currently not runing a After market Ecu as im still shopping for one. it has the supporting mods. However my problem lies with Labouring/Load of the engine. For Example. High way Driving 5th gear around 100km/h depress accelerator and slowly makes around 5psi before it start to splutter boost needle rapidly going back and forth. You can tell its suffering. its not coils.. and i hardly doubt boost cut when it happens at only just 5psi.. the same affect can be done from climbing hills in 4th.. under load. I REALLY REALLY want to enter the QLD dyno day thats happening on the 24th of this month thats only days away.. but.. If the car is driven under load in 4th gear like they will do at a dyno im afriad it will just surge.. and not make any power.. and the car will have to be pulled of the dyno. I guess i could miss this dyno if its not logical to try it.. or ther is no fix for this problem.. Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards, Adam -
Hi guys.. i really really want to gert my ahnds on a power FC but considering they are now discontinued there impossible to find.. there was one on AU eBay that went for 1700 without a fkn hand controller. and there is a couple on USA eBay for 1500USD - thats Friggin 1932.07 AUD with out a hand controller.. might as well get a haltech for that.. So does someone know of a website.. or a trader or some store that has any left for an Rb20det and if so PLEASE pm me the Details. Regards, Adam

Help, Idle Problems And Turbo Problems - Rb20det

at the moment im using a Amto BOV.. but i never had this idel problem before i setup the new turbo.. i used to have the return pip[e from the standard setup blocked of and im currently running a Type 3 turbosmart bov.. ive tried it wound up tight and mid range.. both have no effect on idle.. its really ghey.. i sorta have to bleep the throttle before coming to a complete stop.. to stop it from stalling.. and feather the throttle in conjunction with the handbreak to pull up the car without stalling... i don't see how having a diffrent turbo would effect the intake of air during idle.. its barely spooling at idle is that right?? could it be a shagged AFM? -
Hey guys.. i have recently upgraded the turbo on my Rb20det. to a T3/T4 using the RB25 exhuast housing thats been high flowed and a T4 Front housing and wheel ect. Anyways i have bolted it onto the stock manifold and bought a new 3" mandrel exhuast from turbo back.. including highflow cat. Also bought a new bosch 023 800hp in tank fuel pump which i have all installed. No my problem has been ever sinse i installed the turbo the car wont idle properly.. i know i need tog et the car tuned.. but money has become a bit of an issue at the moment.. so i drive the car quite conservatively and the boost is only a mere 7psi. but the idle not hunts up and down horrible.. and stall's quiet frequently... It seems to drive perfectly when its still on cold start.. like driven for the fist time of the day.. u put your foot on the clutch and the idle stays perfect.. but as soon as its warmed up.. as soo as you pull up and u put your foot on the clutch the idle drops to 0 and it stalls.. EXtermely imbarrasing.. i dont know what to look for.. i dont think its a simple case of turbing up the idle.. because if i give the throttle a little tap before it stalls.. it regains to around 500-700 rpm anmd hunt s a little.. but manages to idle a bit. so thats problem number one.. Also number two.. The new turbo seems to be surging.. it hasnt done it recently as i have tried boosting it at all.. but under heavy load.. eg going up a hill in a higher gear.. the compressor seems to fluctuates rapidly.. making a whoop whoop whoop sound.. it doesnt like being under laod at all.. its like the wastegate spring is too soft or something.. Anyways i got to goto work now.. if u need anymore information.. please let me know what u need to know.. and i'll anwser as best i can.. Thanks,.

ARGHH yes the dirty local bogans.. mmm mmm i had a funny taste in my mouth the whole time they were around.. i think i was throwing up in my mouth and repeatively swallowing it. Thanks Ian, Was a good cruise, plus meting all of you was heaps better than a massive cruise,, i was not as intimidated as i would normally have been with a larger crowd. Some very Tidy cars there, and some really good people who were all Very friendly. Will definitively see you all again. Adz

oi u git.. sorry ben.. You'll be suprised on the angle the turbo will sit down probably no more than 1 " higer than the rocker cover..

Option 1 has 20 - Rb20det boxes.. except the tight arses said that they now want $770 a gearbox.. What a rip. Rang up some places found around 5 others for 650 and 1 for 595 not due till chrissy.. SO expensive.

Hey guys and gurls.. i have a used 2.5" catback exhuast system came off my car.. i replaced it with 3". but if your looking for a cheaper upgrade, then look no further.. it sounds nice and throaty.. yet not illegally loud. cannon on the back.. has been sprayed black.. but its stainless cannon so it should come of with some elbow grease..
