  1. as r31nismoid said, these gearboxes are about as tough as any going around. that said, any gearbox will eventually break from constant 6k launches...may want to revise your driving style. also, when buying a second hand box, and go and get it rebuilt properly or at least checked out. a box that has been broken then rebuilt is better than a second hand box as you won't know the condition its in. not sure how you lost 1st and 5th gears, but it sounds like you have stirpped 3rd gear. i'm also assuming you still have reverse?
  2. BOV's don't emit any power, they just release the pressure built up by the turbo. also, as outlined above any of the louder bovs are illegal as they are not plumback types. it isn't "unsafe" just unneccesary to replace the stock bov on your car as it is rated to 1.5bar (~22 psi) correct me if im wrong...
  3. i am looking at an r33 but as im still on my p's i need a "milder" car. this thing looks like a beast. good lukc with the sale - somebody snap up this bargain.
  4. all of your troubles have seemingly been caused by the performance shop in question. im not exactly sure what i can say on here, but a threat of going to a local newspaper/taking them to court may change their minds and get them to fix the problem. otherwise you would have to take them to court, whcih means more time and money...
  5. your best bet for all of these features is opting for a car computer setting. it will cover ALL of your outlined features, and can be bought for <2000 delivered to your door. visit www.mp3car.com and look throught their store. (prices are in usd). your only problem is you will still require either a head unit with aux input or an expensive 5.1 channel signal processor. car pc's can be easily made diy if you have the know how which would save you up to 500 bucks. pm me for details
  6. This is exactly right and a common nuisance with the pioneer units...
  7. it depends if you want to play music or have the full 5.1 available from dvd sound etc. basically if you want to get rid of the head unit and just use the pc for music you will need: a pc a power inverter a touch screen vga monitor a 5.1 channel sound processor like the audiobahn add15t a 4 channel amp a monoblock amp speakers & sub etc. for the pc, you will need a usb 5.1 output device (about 50 bucks). plug the audio out from the device into the add15t, then the add15t has outputs for each channel. these go to the amps, which then power the speakers; it is not possible to have speakers powered by a soundcard. alternatively, you could just use an rcs plug to go from the pc to your head unit as jantolis said...
