  1. Fair bit of time you've invested in it mate good stuff I tried out taekwando and karate at 18 for ~8 months but got over it so I switched to kickboxing/muay thai at 19 and loved it was more my style. Stopped at 23 only coz the joint closed down. Only 2 proper ring fights won 1 tied the other. Although the sparring sessions did sometimes get out of hand when bets were put down lol wanna get back into it but maybe try a different style this time
  2. i find it queer that this is rarely/never discussed considering it's a sport just like any other anyway just wondering if there are other people on here that are into it so who does/have done what? how long have you been doing it? what level? training for fitness/cardio or for ring fights/competitions etc? and so on
  3. assuming you're training to box in a ring your fists won't be clenched anyway as you will be wearing gloves (boxing gloves aren't exactly thin)... but to answer your question yes there are weighted wrist bands have a look in a gym/fitness equipment shop etc
  4. How do you know they're not wondering the same about you? Who cares....
  5. just agree to disagree No 2 people are the same. What works very well for you wont necessarily work as well for the next person. Some people require more time to recover than others and so on End of the day find what works best for YOU and stick with it. No one will ever tell you you're wrong if you have the physical results to back your theory.
  6. wasn't suggesting major forearm work. Few sets of wrist curls at the end of your shoulders etc workout will burn em up nicely.
  7. I like to mix it up and do both push and pull movements on the day instead of sticking to one. Also I never do the exact same workouts every week. As for resting IMO the more you get the better I don't see why you'd need to do weights more than 3/4 days per week. after every 3-4 weeks or so I take a full week off just to give everything a break (i believe you should also do this when you stop noticing any progress) whatever works for you...
  8. you're only lightly working them when doing back, you shouldn't just rely on your back workouts when wanting to properly target biceps... which is why i prefer chest with biceps that way i'm hitting chest biceps and triceps (lightly) and back with triceps that way i hit back and triceps hard while still lightly working biceps
  9. i dont follow?
  10. you're doing way too much on the one day... monday: chest & biceps tuesday: back & triceps wednesday: rest/abs thursday: shoulders & forearms friday: rest/abs saturday: legs sunday: rest/abs lift as heavy as you can aslong as you're doing 6-8 reps for every workout eat like a f**king pig people complicate shit way too much.
  11. hate that look get some food in ya
  12. annoying? not at all. i'd imagine it would probably slow you down a little but would be fun and a good energy boost
  13. any good rap/hip hop with a sick beat mostly 2pac his angry voice helps me either that or crank up 101.1 love song dedications with richard mercer
  14. light weight baby! ooooooo
  15. Bench dips with a 65kg ezy bar on crotch area was quite a gamble, slight slip and its goodbye fathers' day
  16. the way i see it, the less "protection" gear you use the better. teach your body to be independent (if that even makes any sense) your body will probably get too attached to it and before you know it you can't complete a formed set without having a belt etc on could be wrong, either way not gonna look at it any differently
  17. still not a bad investment considering you can use em for dips, curls etc here you go http://www.worldfitness.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=557 seems to be the running cost for em hmmm hadn't thought of that... i've checked out hardware stores only but they don't really have the right size/weight
  18. sounds reasonable i'd be more interested to know where you can get chains like these
  19. haven't done it but have watched alot of cabinet makers do em. if you're handy with a cordless drill then it's a pretty straight forward job putting the pieces together. i'd save money and DIY
  20. Not bad for a program that consists almost entirely of bodyweight training.
  21. a gymnast's physique.
  22. been hitting weights on/off for the last 5 years give or take. have never set foot in a gym. started out with a basic dumbbell set, till i got some room and started getting more equipment. my home setup consists of: main weight bench where i do my flat/incline/decline presses 2nd weight bench where i do my skull crushers etc a flat/incline/decline dumbbell bench where i do all my non standing dumbbell stuff cable crossover machine - pricey. but the amount of areas you can target with this thing is endless not to mention killer chest flyes squat stand/rack hyper extension "complete home gym" machine which i mainly use for chest dips (side attachment) and cable tricep pulldowns lat pulldown machine and ofcourse, a treadmill that's about it i think. i know most of these are not really necessary but i don't like changing weight plates on bars/dumbbells/machines during training specially when im supersetting so i just use a different machine to move around quickly.
  23. for anyone on jack3d, A1 supps have a special on em atm 3 for $85 also, for killer farts get on universal whey
