  1. I am in the process of doing the same thing but, getting a full rebuild as well.
  2. I use to own an my 99 wrx berfore l bought the gtst. I will agree that a rex does feel faster being that it has AWD, but from my personal point of veiw they have nothing on the roll. I can can recall a number of times when rexes, (modifed) beat me off the line thinking they can really shoot the S&*^, but when on the roll the gtst easily drives away from them. Also there are lot of guys out there comparing STI's to GTST's, compare apples with apples, not apples and oranges. Compare a STI to a VSPEC GTR not a GTST. You must also look a the bigger picture a lot of rexes l have seen run into the 12's down the quarter but look at there MPH most of the time it is low indcating there lack of top end. Dont look at the time look at the MPH it gives a much better indacation of how fast a car is.

You mentioned on previous posts that you recently had your engine rebuilt by ben at race pace and it cost you around $10000. Could you please tell me what you got done to your motor for that amount of money, ie wether it included turbo injectors etc. Also what comp ratio are you running and what cams are you using The reason l am asking this is because l thinking of rebuilding my motor and l would like to know from someone first hand how much it will cost me. To give you an idea of my car and what its has so far, it has a PFC computer, Z32AFM, 750cc injectors, walbro fuelpump, fuel pressure regulater, ARC FMIC, HKS 3037s turbo on the standard manifold, three inch exhaust with dump pipe and makes 274RWKW on 14 pound on bens dyno. As you can see l have all of the bolt on gear all l need now is a decent bottom end so l can make the most out of my bolt ons, as my aim is to have reliable 300RWKW. Many thanks, Bodge.
  4. Series1 R33 GTST RB25DET. ARC FMIC pod filter 3 inch exhaust and dump pipe 750 cc injectors malpassi fuel pressure regulater HKS 3037s turbo, bolted in standard manifold power FC computer standard engine internals 274RWKW in shootout mode on 14pound
  5. Does anyone know were l can get a low mount manifold from or recommend someone who can fabricate one around the eastern suburbs? I have looked at the Xforce ones but, l dont like the way the manifold flange and tubes are welded together as they do not seem to have a smooth path way. THANKS.
  6. RB25DET INTERNALS: stock. TURBO: HKS 3037s on standard manifold BOOST: 14PSI. OTHER MODS: Walbro fuel pump, 740 cc injectors with a fuel pressure regulater, Z32 AFM, power FC, HKS boost controller, ARC FMIC and full 3 inch exhaust. POWER: 274rwkw. FUTURE MODS: low mount manifold, set of cams with a cam gear, and maybe a new head gasket to lower the comp a bit to make it a bit more boost friendly.
  7. I have an r33 gtst with a 3037pros turbo bolted to my standard manifold. It needs a spacer plate about 10mm thick to clear the side of the engine block, also you need new water and oil lines. l installed the turbo myself and it wasn't that difficult. On Race Paces dyno on 14 pound in conjunction with a power FC walbro fuel pump 740cc injectors, fuel pressure regultater, Z32 AFM, FMIC and full 3 inch exhaust it made 256RWKW.
  8. I was wondering wether any of you know if 15 by 6 ford Au rims will fit on a R33 gtst. The reason l ask this is that l want a set of steel rims to run some slick tyres.
  9. I have just finished bolting a 3037 PROS to my skyline and it does require a spacer plate to be made so that the turbo housing clears the manifold. l made the plate about 10mm thick. it was quite a straight forward process just a little bit fiddly when it came to fitting all the the oil and water lines.
  10. Steve, what is your complete setup to produce that sort of power?
  11. Yes the 3037 PRO S does fit on the standard manifold but, it requires a spacer plate to be made up because the compresor housing fouls against the manifold. When l was installing it l was quite surprised how much room l had to fit the turbo.
  12. I have just installed an 3037 PRO S to my GTST and now l am in the process of refabricating new water and oil lines. Does any one know wether copper line will be suitable for this application?
  13. My car has a FMIC, pod air filter, GTR fuel pump, HKS EVC boost controller runing 10 PSI, full exhaust with a dump pipe and gutted cat and it made 187RWKW. I have now purchased a HKS 3037 turbo, power FC, Z32 AFM and 740cc injectors. What RWKW figure am l looking at? l was hoping for around 220 to 230KW. Do you guys think this is achievable with this sort of setup? Also what is the maxium boost l can run without changing the head gasket?
  14. Before anyone replys in saying, "You should have placed it in the FOR SALE section" l tried, but for some reason it wolud not let me post a thread. Anyway l am posting this for a mate. Its brand new still in the box and has never been used, asking price $650. It also comes with the english manual. Reason for selling he has just purchased a Greedy Emanage and wants to sell the AVCR to purchace E01 hand controller. located in Melbourne, contact number is 0438285589.
  15. Someone must surely know someine with a GTST fitted with an XTR turbo
  16. Does anyone here have an XTR turbo fitted to there GTST? Are they suitable to get me into the 12 second bracket? The reason l ask this, is that l am looking at upgrading my stock turbo and alot of people have told me they are cheap equivinent to a HKS turbo is this true?
  17. Thanks for the reply gents. It looks like l may have to tap into the RPM signal behind the dash, hope its not a ball buster of a job. This may be a stupid question but, could l get a RPM signal from the crank angle senser?
  18. I have just installed a montster tacho into my R33 GTST but, l have one problem. Were do i get the RPM signal from. l have downloaded the Ecu diagram and it states that pin 7 is the RPM signal. When i traced it back to the Ecu there was no pin7 to allow me to tap into to get the signal. Does anyone know were else l can get a RPM signal. l have also tried getting the the signal from the coil packs but, that too didn't seem to work.
  19. Having owned a MY 99 WRX and now a R33 GTST, a GTST has a lot more top end than a WRX. WRXs are at there best off the line thats it, on a rolling start they can be pulled in quite easily.
  20. Thanks Sydney kid for your response. I have been doing quite a bit of research on GCG turbos and l think GCG is the way to go. They bolt directly to the standard manifold and are able to support a lot of horse power. What l would like to know is what wheels do they use to get that sort of horse power figure?
  21. I have been looking at a similar turbo set up. I can get from rotor works a T04E with a .70 comp cover and 4 inch comp wheel for $1280 and is able to suppurt 280KWKW. That is quite cheap compeared to gcg who want over $2500 for there stage 2 high flow turbo. The only thing that concerns me is how much lag the T04 would have. Does anyone on this site have a gcg turbo fitted to there car? and if so what are they like in there spool up time.
  22. My Skyline feels the same, Takes up very quickly but has quite a bit of slop up when its fully up. The only two things it can be from my experience is, the system not bled correctly or the rod that connects from the clutch to the master cyclinder requires adjustment to take out the slop.
  23. What colour are stock R33 injectors? Are purple top injectors after market? and how much cc do they flow.
  24. Sly 33, The mods that l listed in my previous post is all that was done to the ATP car. l guess looking at the RWKW figure, its not that high, considering some people are pulling that sort of power with a standard turbo. Prehaps his running low boost to achieve this figure? l will try and find out, but the guy is very hard to talk to, seems like a bit of a Muzza to me.
