  2. Could blowing out the dipstick just be more boost(before easter it got tuned to 18psi)+worn seal on dip stick?
  3. Thats so weird my cars doing this now, just installed z32 and remap chip and is untuned. The smoke is hard to identify, but i dont think its white. Full boost it smokes quite bad and i get a swirl of smoke for a few seconds when backed off, it also been blowing the dipstick out since easter but no difference in performace.. i just zip tied it in . I feel no difference in performance, i do think i have to trim up the afrs with the safc2 when i get some dyno time... my question is has this story had anymore progress?

  5. Have a sit in both the r32 and r33 and take for a drive....r33 is a newer car and is around the same money its hard to beat. I wouldnt buy a r33 though just cause i love my rb20 and my little r32. oh and 4 bangers sound soo sh1t.

The body is stright and rust free (besides lil bit of surface rust), it still has orginal paint work, interior is quite well also, with the owner doing a bucket seat conversion(modplated) but the door trims and rear seat are very good for a 30+ yr old car.. Just thought id throw it up here as i know theres a few carby bogan amidst.

  9. !2:1 afrs on dyno can still produce rich smoke in real driving.

  12. The misfires under load may be because the battery is pretty much dead(it happened to me). Please put a brand new spanking battery in and give us a report, i think you will be alright.
  13. I will be getting it dynoed by my dyno man asap. Called around and the difference in prices was amazing...electronic shops seem to be the go over rip rip dyno people with "ecu capabilities."

  16. This might sound stupid, but have you had you battery disconnected when changing them over? could just be a blown fuse?. I feel for you man its an effort wiring and soldering in the injectors taping it all back up, putting everything back then not starting...heart breaking. do you have a standard fpr?, cause if got an aftermarket one and you upped the pressure it needs to be turned down to run( well mind did). hope you get it sorted.

I dont know if its similar, but using my safc2 i calculated -31% up to about 5500rpm where i went -29% to be safe, and guess what first run on the dyno 12;1 afrs to 7800rpm.. bit of a fluke really. I think you will be safe tuning it down at least -25% as the flow difference is like 38% more compared to 270cc. Cheers
  19. I got 230rwkw out of my rb20 with an safc2, runs fine with good tuned afrs (its posted rb20 performace thread), I still get 500kms to a tank. Although im getting a remap and z32 though as the afm maxes out slightly on cold days. I think throwing some good timing in will sort out the small compresssor surge i get when slowly ramping up boost under load and the other advantages of more power quicker spool up etc..I have gtr injectors also.

  22. I know what compressor surge is, its not when i back off the throttle its on throttle up hills, under load.. which it could be compressor surge, just different. So do you think its my afm causing the issues?..i think its compressor surge...as its fine when i give it enough revs. Its a hiflow rb25 set-up by the way, im reading off the boost gauge i installed, its closest to the inlet i could get. Im running the std bov.
  23. Since getting my car tuned iv noticed i get a small flat spot immediatly after changin gears for only second, it mostly happens with big revs(7000rpm+) between 2nd and 3rd mostly. Also full boost in 4th gear and sometimes 3rd (18 psi) seems to fluctuate and the boost needle goes crazy from like 16 to 18 and it sounds like im slightly taking my foot off and on the gas making a chuffing flutter noise. the car is a rb20det 306rwhp with safc management standard afm, but with everything else supporting. driving normal and below 15 psi its great and smooth. Ideas? experiances?.. Cheers
