Hi all and greetings from www.aus300zx.com. Sadly, one of our members has recently experienced some significant personal and financial hardship resulting of complications during the birth of his son. Eric is a professional mechanic who has been extremely generous with his time and expertise over his many years of membership at aus300 and we are now rallying the troops to return the favour and try to provide some financial support in a very difficult time for him and his family. The full story can be found here http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322395. Anyway what better way for some car enthusiasts to raise coin than through a cruise and a BBQ? We as a forum are running concurrent cruises in the various states and territories on Sunday 3rd March and I would like to extend an invitaiton for members of SAU to participate in the Sydney leg. Cruise Details The cruise is kicking off in Blues Point on the North side of the Harbour at 10am, Sunday 3rd March. From Blues Point we will head accross the Bridge and South to Bulli via the Princes Highway. From Bulli we'll turn North via the coast and the Sea Cliff Bridge and head up through the Royal National Park to Bundeena for a BBQ at the Bonnie Vale picnic ground. Bonnie Vale features parking, tables, and free gas BBQs. See map below for an outline of the cruise. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos etc along the way. Click here for a map of the cruise http://goo.gl/maps/dD2dy -I will look at having some professinally printed to offer in exchange for donations. Donations will be collected at Blues Point and Bonnie Vale, and every $$ raised will be put towards helping Eric and his family. Please note the entry fee for the Royal National Park (to get to Bundeena) is $11. This is a National Parks fee and the fundraising effort doesn't see any of it, so please be prepared! Wooshka (the screen name for Kylie, Eric's wife) stickers such as those pictured below will also be available. There will be opportunities to pickup members along the way, most notably in Sutherland and Bulli. If you're not from Sydney but would like to meet along the way please let me know! We will be holding a BBQ lunch at Bonnie Vale and selling sausages and cans of drink at a very reasonable price. Summary Date: Sunday 3rd March Meeting Point: Blues Point Reserve, North Sydney Meeting Time: Cruise departs 10am. Blues point is a great location for photos etc so you may wish to turn up earlier. I know I will. Destination: Bonnie Vale picnic area, Bundeena. Cruise Duration: 2 hours/125km Hope to see some of you there, even if it's only so as I can smoke a few GTRs.

Where To Get Engineering Certifcate In Western Sydney
Rob260 replied to OneFaster26's topic in New South Wales
Comptune Engineering did a mates car when he was in a similar situation http://comptune.com.au/ -
For anyone interested in this little project my first attempt didn't go so well. One of these was supplied as a template from which to modify the standard bonnet. Shop says sure we can do that. Won't be able to get such an agressive ridge but we can do the vents no probs. I'm thinking this sounds pretty good, exactly what I'm after. This is what was waiting for me when I arrived to collect it. Can ANYONE see the similarity? Neither can I. Didn't bother arguing with the guys, paid them and left, and prompely on sold attempt number 1. Not very impressed though; the shop responsible for the work above came reccomended from a mate in the industry and gave every impression of being able to do the job. I suppose I could have argued the point and asked them to redo it etc but with the damage done sometimes it's easier to bite your tongue, move on, and not send the car there for a respray as you had planned to later in the year... anyway.... I've since spoken to a couple of classic/restoration style body shops and found one who's happy to take on the job (Gladesville Auto Body Works http://www.gladesvil...dyworks.com.au/). Owner Nat seems to have a fair bit of experience in panel fabrication and seems very much interested in making sure I get what I want. Will keep you all posted.

Try MRC dyno and performance, owner Mark is good on the dyno and Ben who used to tune at UAS started there this year also. http://www.mrcdyno.com.au/

This guys comes highly reccomended from one of the senior members on the aus300 forum http://prestoautomotive.com.au/ -let's face it if he can handle a Z32 he should be able to get around a skyrine with his eyes closed...

Definately invest in term deposit/high interest account. 5% savings account is what -5 million per year to live off? Forget buying outright etc, 5 mill/year would service all the mortgages/vehicle leases you'd ever need...

Still for sale, now includes brand new series 4 (stronger brass synchros and improved selector gate) Nissan gearbox

Hi guys just FYI I am going to have the mods done at TNT in Girraween. They have quoted about $600 (allowing a little more) to cut vents, reinforce with tig weld (rather than glass over like alot of DIY jobs I've seen on the 'net). At the moment I have a Border style bonnet in carbon fibre as pictured below. It's nice but like most aftermarket body parts doesn't fit 100% like stock -in this case the bonnet does not reach all the way to the top of the fender so there is like a 1mm gap either side. Splitting hairs I know but when you spend top $$ on something you want it to be "right" (as I'm sure some of you know!). The Z32 ally bonnet is about the same weight as c/f (due to fibreglass frame being used on the c/f hood), but I like the vents in the border hood. Solution? User Border style c/f hood as a template and cut up a stock bonnet... I'll let you know how it goes

Can anyone reccomend a heart rate monitor that is compatible with the RunKeeper app on iPhone 4G? Cheers
-
Thanks for the suggestions guys, gives me some ideas...
-
Can anyone reccomend somewhere in Sydney to modify an ally bonnet? Basically cut a vent in and smooth it out etc so that the lines flow nicely... I'd imagine the ally would need to be cut and then some massaging done... Any suggestions welcome.

Bit out of your way but another one to consider Alloypro at Hotham Pde Artarmon. They do alot of work for the local prestige dealers and smashies -
Made it! Pretty sore though...... Really need to work on my cardio if I'm going to hit this again next year. HEAPS of fun -bit of a drag going solo but glad I stuck it out. Plenty of comradery going around so always someone to help out when a team effort was required. Tell you what it was a realy eye opener though in terms of fitness. I'm pretty fit in terms of my group of mates but man there were some incredible athletes there... inspiring stuff! Sounds like you had a good time too? I'm taking this week off from training, going to work on the car for a bit while I recover haha

NVM got back to me via email today. Seems like a top bloke but have already placed an order elsewhere, i'll have to buy a lens from him down the track to make up for it

Anyone know if this guy is still trading? I tried to get in touch last Wednesday (confirming stock availability) after reading the reccomendation on this site but so far he hasn't responded to the phone message I left (called the mobile number listed on the front page of his site) or replied to the email that I sent (again using contact info from his website).... I'm buying a 5D so probably not the biggest order he's seen but not chump change either!

Unique Auto Sports go to http://www.gtr.com.au/

Rhino Rav3 Aus Standards Approved Alarm $190 Delivered
Rob260 replied to Rob260's topic in Group Buys
Still got two of these to move if anyone is interested! -
Pulling the pin due to very little interest. For anybody chasing these I'd suggest contacting Joe at VPW as they have the best price per pair that I could find.
-
I'll have to check it out and get back to you -probably a little more as they would be in the "ET Street Radial II" range rather than "ET Street Radial" range. To be honest the GB isn't looking too good I'm up to six maybes (including yourself) and would need to confirm ten to go ahead. But yeah I'll check the price for you and keep the info in the thread current. It's a pretty decent saving (I was quoted $342ea rrp by Rocket and next best was $315 ea from an ebay supplier) so I'm keen for it to go ahead!
-
Hi, yeah it would be a Street Radial II in 265/40 R18
