  1. Got back home, SAU Nats isn't up yet but I saw the next WRX Calder is, http://www.forum.wrx.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=78358
  2. SM Pedders are interested in motorsport, SAU vic members get discounts, just book it in for a Saturday morning when they can spend time on it.
  3. With faux RAF stickers? Time to pick up some MG 17 cannons from a ME 109, to put real bullet holes in it.
  4. These fitted prices? would like to know where you're going for me in 235/45/17s there is v little in price just under $300 and just over $300 fitted so no brainer for me. On to events, anything down post Nats, always get itchy feet in summer.
  5. Maybe have SAU table identification, with a come and introduce yourself note, so newbies know who to approach? Always difficult walking in to a scenario where you don't recognise/know anyone.
  6. Maybe I'll offer to run a quick tutorial during a track day downtime (flagy lunch/off recovery) or club kebab meet. Or a how to video posted to the tube. Richo, if I can grab the racechrono2avi config off you, I could do this 2nd method as well - my config files are stuffed and as I don't use it, haven't bothered fixing them.
  7. Would have thought the perfect day, cool sunshine?
  8. if you set off just behind him, he'll not catch you :-)
  9. Yes, if you do get asked by the security guard at the gate, just mention there to see Alpha club day. Generally never even asked.
  10. more pics here: https://picasaweb.google.com/100203254234701302909/AdvanDay# msg me if you want any hi res ones. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks for pics martin. Lol: you travel so much, have you checked the camera timestamps :-) Due to gasket issue robbing me of a few sessions, didn't get a chance to make use of Andrew from traction tyres being on site but did get a brilliant session with John Boston from www.trackschool.com.au here's hoping Advan Australia / circuit club can become a regular calendar fixture
  11. Looking forward to taking my son to experience top fuel. Wouldn't mind the odd off street run if they are willing to continue it.
  12. Emailed them today and they were willing to accept my entry today - sorted. But as per normal, can't come up Friday so early Saturday start for me.
  13. Whereas the car will be ready this time, brakes rebuilt, I'm on child minding duties so the missus can help at her sister's new business. Desperate to get out again - have a good one.
  14. Whereas I've seen 4wd going too fast and sliding on into an accident. All you have to do is drive to the conditions. Even at vic resorts, sometimes you have to dig out cars but you have to be lucky to get it that good.
  15. I'm not sure I understand the question, you're going to be carrying chains, being awd you're less likely to have to go through pain of fitting them in cold/dark/wet. I drive a gt2871 track oriented silvia up to the slopes - lovely roads. Some of my best memories from NZ trips is drive up/down the dirt roads. My advice, take the best car you can and enjoy the drive.
  16. They use it for a sea taxi to go party with their mates on the St Kilda forshore. SAU don't seem to have a round in July so guess a 95db PI is up for grabs.
  17. Looking for the room location, the website is pretty naff, so the vintage room is the first one you come to in the grandstand if you park next to the pits?
  18. Brake fluid is quite important - and the leak is so bad, non stays in the car . Taarks are should have the rebuild kit in next week. Going from Natsoft, we're not the only ones who didn't make it. Sorry to hear about the craked piston and subsequent costs so WRX prices hikes don't help - wasn't yet aware of this one.
  19. Looks like I'm a withdrawl Replaced rear rotors and pads and when winding in the caliper piston the 20yr old seal gave up the ghost and brake fluid started weeping out from the side of the piston. Seems Silvia rear seal kits are hard to come by at reasonable prices.
  20. Seem to remember that they mentioned a 2ic was going to be processing entries and they don't have a club email - probably why no confirmation has been returned. Wouldn't worry, I'm going to head down, if they've messed up their records I'll mention my prior entry and request any on the day payment will be for the lower amount.
  21. Yeah but every time you go, they always give you the fastest car
  22. Places at such late notice? So how many required for an SAU team or is it more a case of individuals whose results are grouped under a team and rationalised?
  23. if your talking about filling in the PIARC form, as it's not registered but registerable you be put you in modified class H but if you're not in the championship does it really matter?
  24. You should be getting your rest!!!
