just wondering is this a possible option? how much would this cost to get a 5 speed tip tronic gearbox? and without a rev limiter does the manual have any advantage over the tip tronic gearbox, with lets say a stage 2 shift kit on the tip tronic>? ps: sorry if these questions sound stupid..im new.. be nice lol thanks for any help

Just wondering what you guys think would be my best option? to import an r34 25gt myself through an importer like j spec or am i better of just buying an r34 35gt of a dealership, already complied etc, registed.. so far the bst deal if found is a 1998 r34 35gt, full nismo body kit, black, tip tronic, under 50 000ks, $19 000, with 6 months rego and 3 years warranty... sounds like a good deal to me?, just wondering how much i would save importing it myself?? or is it just to much time and hassles? just say for example the r3425gt-t, this is pretty stupid but if u just change the rocker cover from saying turbo, to some thing like the n/a rocker cover, do you reccon a dumb cop would fall for this?>? lol i no its a stupid question, but just like to see wat u guys think

not really, there is barley any difference between the years, there are a few adds on car sales and drive etc, that have a 2000model r34 25gt for 19 999 and 1998 models go for the same

man an r34 35gt.. very good looking car, decent power for a non turbo.. its any p plater, with a bit of moneys. dream

17 grand?? i think you can get better than that.. is it manual or tip tronic?.. depending on this and judging buy the low ks if its a coupe i think your looking at around at least 18 going up to 19 500...sedan will be significantly less, then i would agree with the 17 max figure... i went to about 3 dealerships just last weekend looking for a 25gt coupe, tip tronic no less that 19 999 with around 50 000ks, manual was going for 21 000 with a little less ks.. these are really starting to get popular due to P plater laws, so i doubt it will be to hard to sell.. where abouts you from btw? any chance sydney area, lol id love to take a look at it

hey guys, i went to another dealership today to test drive the n/a r34.. ive never driven a non turbo skyline before, and wasnt expecting anything great.. but was i wrong, the r34 gt coupe went awsome, i was really suprised at how well it responded, how well it handled, and really how its not far of a turbo with minimal mods.. really ive read people saying how slow n/a skylines are??? compared to what ? the gtr? i really highly rated it, performance and comfort.. the tip tronic was also very very smooth,

ye i know its obviously not spot on, but he was full ravin on about this non turbo, and they have heaps of turbo versions too.. he was saying obviously not a turbo, but with the racing chip it is barley different? anyone actually put a racing chip in an n/a that can tell me what its like?

i just went to an import dealership, looked at a few non turbo lines.. they have a 5 speed coupe there, they guy said it has a racing chip in it.. he said its 10% of the turbo?? no actual figures as it hasnt been dyno'd, does this sound reasonable? 10% of turbo with a racing chip? he said they can only be inported from japan

man ive read over these forms about 5 million times.. i gave the guy every excuse i could come up with.. he basicly told me you can try, but u have non in bucklys chance of getting it.. unless its a turbo diesal and you do some sort of trade which requires that car.. i said the our VZ ss is the only car in our family, its needed to get to a from work etc.. they said no chance.. cant use that excuse, unless maybe your a mechanic, who actually may need to move cars during work hours, which may be a v8 or turbo.. so basicly unless your a mechanic, and you want to be able to drive your turbo line in hours other than work hours, i cant see many ways around this.. our government are retards who dont understand the fact that a car is a weapon, used properly its fine, but a turbo or v8 is just a more refined more powerful weapon, with added safety features.. making us drive shitbox corollas, designed to take grandmar to do her shoping is like giving us an old shitty gun with no safety, just easier to blow your hand of.. lol hope u like my little comparison.. just pisses me off. we need more advanded driving courses not more bullshit bans

nah i wouldnt even consider a standard auto.. deff has to be tip tronic.. and will prob get a stage 2 shift kit from my mate at KRT race transmitions.. can anyone whos driven the tip tronic r34 tell me, do they have rev limiters? like do they get to a certain point where the computer automaticly changes for you ?

sorry but your wrong, in NSW i have tryed to get exemtions...there are only a very limited ways of getting aound this law.. and the fact that you have no access to any other car besides a turbo or v8 is simply not an excuse.. i tryed this already.. they say if your job needs the car, you can get exemtions during work hours, this mostly relates to turbo diesals.. ie pickup trucks , so on, country driving.. i find it really hard to imagine the RTA giving exeptions to anyone to drive a turbo skyline?? what does your job involve? getting places really fast ??.. theres no actual use for a highperformance turbo car in the work force, so ud have to come up with a pretty damm good excuse why u need it..

haha if i get into this course it will be soooo great.. ive wanted to do graphic design since i started highschool back in yr 7, ive also loved skylines since before then.. so lets just say id be the happiest bastard when these results come in, (in my favour, hopefully)

with the exams i missed, once u miss it thats it, no doing it again.. i get my assesmnet mark as my hsc mark.. as for after hsc, i really really want to get to UWS and do graphic design... and if anyone ver had a little added insentive to do that bit better.. dads puting a non turbo r34 25gt on the line for me, if i get in to this course... keep in mind im a p plater.. but ye pretty sweet deal

im doing the hsc too, havent actually sat one exam yet, cos i got real sick last week with glandular fever, was in hospital on the drip and constant morfeen, lost 7 kg couldnt eat, drink or sleep, stuggle to breath.. but im back in action as of now.. i missed 3 exams, but im gonna do my next three starting from maths next tuesday...

daam 5 k for a calais turbo, here in sydney your lucky to find an n/a calais for that price...

not really, i have an automatic license, embarasing, but i have no manual cars in my family to learn on.. and i seriously do not want to do the Ps test again.. my firt option was to go 5 speed, leanr on it get my ps again in manual, but after talking to my mate at KRT who bulids nissan race gearboxes, he reccomended the tiptronic, as he can do shift kit for me or even a full manual valve body...i do majority city driving so im guessing tip tronic has the pros of the manual car, and leaves the con of having to clutch all the time..?

i think the government is finally realising there is nothing they can do.. the only smart thing i can see them doing is introducing advanced driving courses as a compulsary thing.. seriously bannig high performace cars prooved to be usless, im a p plater, wat we need is more experience, no more bans, its a fact that alot of young drivers have alot of confidence and want to test the limits of our cars, giving us shitboxes with limited suspension and safety systems leads to more accidents.. perfect example, i drove my dads VZ SS 5.7litre v8 the whole time i was on my Ls, i never did anything stupid, as soon as i have to drive my mums shitbox 2 litre ford mondeo i feel the need to thrash the f*k out of the car to get anywhere, which is much more dangerous than taking it easy in a 250kw v8...

hey guys im looking at buying a non turbo r34 tiptronic coupe.. my budget is 19 000 and ive found a few that fall under this category... i just wanted to know, ive found to similar skylines that i like, 1 is red with a spoiler, the other is gun metal grey with no spoiler.. i rather the gun metal colour.. the thing is that the red one is a 2000 model and the grey one is 1998 model.. can anyone tell me the main differences between the year models? both are 19000.. thanks alot for any help
