  1. I am after an RB25 or 26 RWD gearbox dead or alive will consider a GTR box too if the price is right. I prefer a dead one as I am only after the front bellhousing however will consider reasonably priced alive ones too. Email me at [email protected] or PM post here Cheers Jas
  2. Hi all I am looking at acquiring a front bellhousing section (or whole box) off of a skyline 5 speed manual box and need to now some of the difference between them. This is going into a custom project using the 300zxTT box mated to an RB25 or RB26 front gearbox bellhousing. Basically similar to this thread http://rbz32.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57...ghlight=gearbox Just wanted to know the differences if any between the different boxes in terms of difference in front bellhousings and strength of the gears etc. Can be any model R32 R33 or R34 RWD Any help you can give would be great I used search but the info is very varied so hope to tidy it up with this thread Cheers Jas
  3. It was supposed to be a comparison of the top rated and most expensive unleaded race fuels money can buy. I got some ELF Turbo max at $8.20 per litre, Martini Super turbo 1400 (formerly M110) and Sunoco GT Plus. So we had a Euro fuel and Aussie fuel and the American stuff. But then we found the comp problem aaarrrrr. Will sort the engine in no time and will rerun it so all will not be lost Cheers
  4. Fuel testing results -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well after much anticipation and discussion and great effort the stage was set for the battle of the race fuels. William from Autosalon magazine arrived by 9:30am while Ben was putting the finishing touches on his in drum walbro custom makeshift fuel system for the tests. Started out and my in tank stock pump decided to play up which was okay as we had the walbro anyway so on with the tests. The my lower drivers side cooler pipe kept blowing off, tried constant tension clamps massive T bolt clamp torqued right up no go in the end Andrew had to weld some lips onto the pipes and all was sorted. Car was making 250ish on pump fuel which is pretty normal so we tried the Martini again altered the timing and only 255 wtf. continued the tests and all the same around that 250 mark. After several scans of previous charts we new something was really wrong. Boost isnt holding still and power is not there. Time to do a compression test, all plugs out and we got an average of 132 excpet for cylinder 6 good old number 6 who decided it liked around 75. Ben did a cylinder leak down test and confirmed that the rings are in fact to blame. So looks like everything got a little too hot and cooked number 6 cylinder. Conclusion - Test was inconclusive due to car problem and I spent around 2.5k to find out my number 6 cylinder is rooted, hence why I am sitting down at the moment drinking a bottle of Moet and Chandon and generally feeling down about the whole caper. I had Autosalon there and everything and no results to show for the effort put in apart from a very large repair bill. Oh well such is life and had to happen sooner or later just wished it was later about 6 months later then new engine would have been done. Once the new engine is built I will rerun the test and see whats what. Jp is going to buy some of the fuel and test it in the slotcar next week so some results will be forthwith Its not over yet!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Not really. it took maybe 3 hours to figure out how to use the program to make the video and maybe 2 hours to edit and splice it all together then maybe another half hour to add music. Problem was being 8 mins long it was over 1gb in size so resized several times to get it small enough to host on google. Thanks for the support keep an eye out for more will do a small one on the dyno day too
  6. Ah ha thats the intro song in 2 fast 2 furious Its Get down (like a pimp) by David Banner and featuring lil flip Cheers Jas
  7. Timing advances are common but some like the ELF and Martini require richening as they burn quicker so use your fuel per combustion cycle. There is specific tuning requirments from each manufacturer to ensure the optimum result is achieved from there product. It does seem expensive but the power gain potential is very high. My car made an extra 26 odd rwkw tuning for Martini and that was with massive boost leaks so will be interesting to see what it pulls Thursday with that all fixed and steady boost You might be correct 2rismo I will look into it while at HOR today
  8. It was a good weekend overall Congrats to the SAU crew the whole display looked very professional and well setup regarding car spaces between one another etc and loved the material strips and witches hats and construction tape very cool plus the looped video was nice as well. Corrine I want a copy of ZX2NV running at the drags PM me and I will PM you lol. So all in all well done guys see you back in December for final battle. I put together a little video of circuit battle and the zeds and some autosalon goings on for your enjoyment. It was my first vid attempt so be nice. Also ZX2NV's display was 11th hour and seemed to work pretty well in the end. Final battle prep is underway re theme so all should be good its a very old school theme which will work wonders I believe in december Cheers Jas
  9. Well I cant help myself again This is sort of a follow on from the Place your bets thread I started a week or so ago. Myself and JP at UAS have sort of half organised yet to 100% confirm a fuel test comparison that will hopefully be picked up by HPI, ZOOM or Autosalon Magazine etc. There has been fuel comparisons in the past but not tune specific race fuels as far as I am aware. So we plan to test the main contenders First up we have the Martini M110 or Superturbo 1400 (new name) it comes in 20 litre drums at around $170 a drum. Readily made and available ex Melbourne or direct from the dealer UAS Second on the list we have Sunoco GT Plus in comes in 20, 50 and 205 litre drums or pumped into your own drums slightly cheaper at $6.60 a litre. It is manufactured in the USA and readily imported and available through Hi Octane Racing in NSW. Lastly we have the ELF Turbomax. It comes in 20, 50 and 205 litre drums and and runs at around $8 per litre. It's available through the ELF agents in NSW or direct from the dealer UAS. So what will happen no body really knows there is a lot of talk on which is better and we will find out. They will be tested back to back in ZX2NV, a highly modified but still stock engine and turboed Nissan 300ZX twin turbo. Stay Tuned
  10. It will be a shame to see the black beast go Paul, we have had some fun on track of late. However its one less GTR I have to worry about smacking on the circuit so all good :laughing-smiley-014: Good luck with the sale mate I hope you find a good home for her
  11. Yeah might help hey NSW can get them couriered to Vic for a reasonable price through couriers please Cheers Jason
  12. Bump Any interest These are on Ebay now and will be gone in a few days so last chance if anyone is keen make a reasonable offer Cheers
