  1. What airflow meter? Also get yourself a consult cable and a copy of Datascan or ECUTalk, check for error codes and see what is happening when the idle is hunting.. is it trying to chase the idle with the IACV? or is it doing it via timing? Have you checked your base and cam timing? P.S. building hybrid engines of this sort you really need to have a good idea of what the ECU and all sensors are seeing/doing otherwise you will just be chasing your tail when issues like this arise (such as you are now).
  2. 595SS's aren't the greatest but they're alright bang-for-buck, I have run them as daily tyres on all my cars for a few years and have never had issues like the OP has mentioned.. even in my stiffly sprung, low, 2-way'd, 3L'd R32 GTSt.. even in the 2t Wagoon of Hillariousness, no crazy understeer issues What's up with your alignment settings OP?
  3. Correct, R33 is an electronic sender, sends signal to dash which interprets and sends to ECU.
  4. So please outline exactly what is different now that it is a DE+t... The fact that you a swapping and changing parts between s1 and s2 when they are known to be different is quite perplexing..
  5. If you want to go plumback bov then the whole GTR cooler/bov/piping setup is actually a really nice solution. The piping is huge though and really only suits a forward facing plenum (non-GReddy type, i.e. not going through battery tray). Oh and the 32R cooler core is fkn heavy! but I'm pretty sure it took a hell of a lot of the impact in the accident
  6. I run Autometer gauges, specifically Ultralite series and I get them from summitracing.com
  7. Dissimilar metals too.. as for what clearance to run I left that up to the machinist as he has far more experience with these things than I do! The key though is, finding a good machinist
  8. *NOTE: Cannot be be used on cars w/ mufflers Have seen the concept talked about and used in some supra applications in the US.
  9. ^^ and that is why I had my machinist weld up the snout of the crank and machine it back to suit my gears Some people don't like it but if done properly it's fine, works for us in a few engines and one is making 580awhp and gets regularly abused with 8500rpm limiter launches (different oil pump to me though). Oh and NEW balancers!
  10. Dan, see if there is a Cat dealer in your state, here in WA we use Westrac for oil testing. My opinion on breathers is thus (if you don't care about being legal), block PCV valve, block return to inlet, vent cam covers to catch can, vent sump (from intake side, I'm currently using the dipstick) to the catch can, vent catch can to atmo with decent sized opening/filter. That is for my twincam 30's though and I restrict the oil feeds to the head, size depending on oil pump used.
  11. Just after the elbow is fine, you just want the actuator reference signal as short as possible (i.e. not on other side of the cooler) to prevent any overboosting or lazy signal issues. My new setup will have a peak recall boost gauge plumbed in with the actuator reference signal (so I have pre cooler readout) and a normal boost gauge + EBC signal (EBC has peak recall) at the plenum. This will then show me any pressure losses and help troubleshoot issues
  12. If the Neo oil pump are actually the 77mm OD N1 style gears, then I would be going Reimax gears. I put Reimax gears in my old N1 pump but if I was to do it again, I would source a standard RB26 pump and go with the 81mm OD Reimax gears. Cost me $430 delivered from RHDJapan.
  13. In regards to where to get your boost reference signal from.. The way I like to do it is for the actuator, shortest possible path, as close to turbo exit as possible. I then get the boost reference for the EBC control unit from the plenum.
  14. Very nice diagram ^^^ In regards to the guy that said he didn't fit restrictors because nobody had any at the time.. I used 1/4" grub screws and drilled them out, tapped the oil feeds in the block and screwed the grub screws in. Easy, cheap and easily changed if need be (not as easy as the external adjustable feed someone else came up with).
  15. I got my ASR sump through JustJap with a nice turnaround.
  16. Agreed, fitment under my rims would probably be an issue at that size too. Cheers
  17. AND parking at their place of residence it seems
  18. I was going to swap my 324mm package over to my 34 but I managed to get a GT-V so it already has the 310mm brakes, seems like a lot of effort for only 14mm increase in OD. Anyone know of an 337-340mm rotor with a similar offset?
  19. Damn that sucks I got some rear end bits if you need them, my wreck has frontal damage!
  20. Checked all cooler pipe connections and vacuum hoses? Does unplugging the AFM make any difference?
  21. dori34 the 350z brembo type rotors you mentioned above, are they the same hat offset as 324mm gtr rotors?
  22. Thanks Ross and PM sent Rich
  23. Need it a bit sooner than that.. want the wagon back on the road before easter otherwise it will have been a year The guy will drop it at a depot for me so that will make life a bit easier
  24. Cheers fellas
  25. Any suggestions on a cost effective courier to use to get a gearbox over here from the eastern states?
