  1. Quite, Dale. However, the legwork was actually done long ago but there were not enough interested VQ25det owners back then. Perhaps "we" could be closer these days?
  2. I wonder if enough series 1 owners got their collective wallets together, Toshi could be persuaded to purchase the remap unit for the stock ECU and get onto it... I would suggest there is more of a chance with him than with large tuning companies making their software and hardware compatible.
  3. That Zees exhaust is on a series 2 M35 which do not have the ATTESSA pump on the driver side rear like the series 1 M35's have. You could probably do it without a muffler I guess - hard to remember how much space the pump takes up.
  4. +30 would be the minimum on 9.5" wide rims without the need of rolling the guards (mine are 9.5" +40 with 10mm spacers). +20 would require some rolling Also, I have 245 tyres currently and definitely will be going 255 next time... but thane again, I dislike "stretch" with a passion
  5. Anyone aware of any? Must be AWD
  6. Have 19's with stock Series 2 springs (Bilstein struts though) if it counts. Agree with Brick regarding size if you want to have 18's. For 19's, a 40 profile is ideal and should pretty much correct the speedo discrepancy.
  7. You can, but you'll need the series 1 headlights and bonnet
  8. Why not just flip the cooler and make up some basic brackets to support the cooler? If it were mine, I would make up two long C shaped brackets which would support each side mounting tab of the cooler and allow you to screw it onto the top of the reo. Nice and sturdy
  9. My BABY LIVES!! Different front bumper and wheels though. http://australia.trovit.com/cars/index.php/cod.frame/url.http%253A%252F%252Fbuyingcars.com.au%252Fcms%252Fcars%252FVehicleID_D_3436337%252Fview.html%253Futm_source%253DTrovit%2526utm_medium%253DCPC%2526utm_campaign%253DPremium/id_ad.1Dh1j1mc1hFl/what_d.stagea%20parts/origin.2/section.1/section_type.1/pop.0 Cannot be comprehensively insured though (statutory write off)
  10. Hit a 'roo. Impact caused leak in lines which I couldn't see, being just after 1am. Got home, no fluid in box. Much better now though. Downside is that it also tore apart the harness leading to the EGR sensors. Wiring was worked on but still get engine light so may need a replacement harness... too bad it is the same harness that runs along the top of the engine
  11. Finally reunited with mine last Tuesday after 2 months off the road. Now sporting a rebuilt transmission from Kewish. Never realised how much I enjoyed my until I had to drive a 2" raised Prado for a couple of months (good car, but that handling )
  12. What do you mean "don't have time"? Take a 10mm socket to wherever you are getting the globe (supercheap/autobarn etc) and replace it in the car park.
  13. RWD set has forks on the bottom of the front struts whereas the the AWD set does not. Spring rates are also different on the front (RWD set has softer front springs)
  14. Looked. Do like, but not enough room in the back for the dogs
  15. Have owned both a 250t RS Four and (currently) a 350RX Four. Go the 3.5. Interior (everything) is much nicer. Exterior is nicer. Transmission is nicer. AWD system is easier (no need to worry about external pumps). Engine is common although the 2.5t is much better for cheap performance. 3.5 is a better drive in factory spec. if you are modding, anything up to 6-7k will see significant performance increases with the 2.5t and okay increases with the 3.5. If you are spending big for performance ($15k+), you will get more out the 3.5 but it will require stronger internals. Neither have to be "boring" (brakes, suspension and bracing perk up the drive quite a bit) and both make an excellent kiddy wagon.
  16. There was no VQ25det in 06-07. Nissan ended the VQ25det in 2004 just prior to the series 2 M35's arrival later that year (VQ25dd and VQ35de)
  17. Black magic indeed. I was not sold on HHO injection, but have spoken to some Aussies that have done H2 injection (venting the oxygen prior to injection) and all results/testimonials are positive although they do vary with just how effective it has been. Will certainly post with results/lack of results when I finally get to installing it all.
  18. Sorry Bud, I like my Z34 Akebono's
  19. Putting decat pipes on with Z34 headers. H2 injection will be the following step... well probably after new pads & rotors.
  20. If memory serves me, that is a Balsinari
  21. Should be taking the Berk HFC's off my car in the next month or two Alex. Can put them with the unused & ceramic coated 350z headers that I have here if you are interested.
  22. Depends how much heavier. I went from the stock 17x7 with stock brakes to cast 19x9.5 with front and rear Z34 Akebono brake kit. Not sure that the wheels would have weighed much more than stock, but add the brakes and I am around +20-30kg over stock and have only noticed a 0.1 km/L decrease - going by my fuel economy screen of course.
  23. ^ Agree with Frank except for the oil filter and oil used. Correct oil filter is Z445 (Ryco). Same as a 350z among other VQ35 powered cars. Oil selection is not something I am going to get into....
