  1. 10mm slip ons all round on mine. If you are going with slip on spacers, just make sure that you get hub centric ones and grab a set of good quality longer hub bolts
  2. Any M35 will for a PM35 and any PM35 exhaust that does not include the y-pipe (most Japanese brands) will fit an M35. Headlights and bonnets are different although all will bolt on to either model. Matt is correct, I did a series 1 RS to series 2 Axis S front conversion on my old Stagea. Hmmm, I could have sworn I had a thread with pics on it here or on M35Stagea.info but can't find it. Might be somewhere in the "What have you done..." threads. Quarter panels are the same. Side skirts and rear bumper are interchangeable between models. Yep, as well as the rest of the exhaust. Will be adding V36/Z34 OEM headers and a pair of Z34 de-cat pipes from Japan soon too (been sitting here for aaaages, just need to organise myself a bit better!) G35/V35/Z33 high flow cats will fit on a PM35 (and an M35 but you will have one left over of course!). I have a set of Berk cats from a G35 - straight bolt up. Can't do V36 headers onto any V35 cats though. Completely different.
  3. Clean it up and sell it to an S15 owner. You would have to cut the muffler from the main pipe, remove the hangers, re-position and weld them on and then either weld the muffler on to piping that could be made to mate up with the M35 exhaust or cut up a stock M35 muffler and weld this muffler on. Effort for benefit?
  4. Relevance? I was/am after filtration and efficiency. The vast majority of filters only manage one.
  5. R2C don't make replacement panel filters - so no choice - and I reckon that my Nismo intake grabs cold enough air.
  6. Filter that I purchased is the #CO10511. The dust "pre-filter" is basically a mesh style material that has an elastic ring on the end with the opening. It is a damn tight fit and certainly would not filter anywhere near as well as the R2C itself, but will stop bugs and very small stones getting stuck between the wire outer and the filter medium. The dust boot pre-filter part number for the CO10511 (not the moisture resistant one) is the R2C0210A30 and is a very snug fit By "dirt racing" they are talking sprint cars. Putting a dust boot on it just means waaaaaaaay less stuffing around cleaning. I put a dust boot on mine as I seem to have the innate ability to trap flies under the honeycomb cage around the filter medium and is a right PITA to get rid of them. I have a K&N pod that came with my car. Held it up to the light so I could see the pattern of the filter medium by the light passing through the gaps. A fly wire door springs to mind. Pretty generic actually and is the same pattern as the Nismo filter that came on my CAI. There were no noticeable light holes when I did the same thing with the R2C.
  7. I live in an area that is dusty in summer and bloody wet in winter (lots of unavoidable deep standing water on the local highway) and I do not like oiled filters which is why I went with the R2C (after a LOT of research into filter medium and design). It performs better than the Nismo filter and the K&N intake that came with the car from Japan, I also get slightly better fuel economy with it. My intake gets no dirt in it during summer and I have never had an issue with hydrolocking- nor do I expect to. The Nismo intake comes with a secondary foam filter that sits in the engine bay but is much more restrictive than the lower filter section. Theory behind the design is that if the lower filter were to become submerged or coated in mud etc, there would then be less resistance from the secondary filter which would become the primary. I don't know if R2C have a replacement for the Stillen box, best to ask them. They do have a number of replacements specifically for other manufacturer's intakes - they asked which intake I have and recommended a filter (although it is a tight fit). I have recently fitted one of their dust boots to it as cleaning them can be a bit of a pain.
  8. Nismo R-tune (from the US) with an R2C filter attached
  9. Factory spec exhaust on G35/37 is the same as V35/37. Same cars. Coupe is shorter than sedan though. US headers, you are correct in that they can foul on our steering column although this could also vary by design. Z34/V36 headers will fit (I have a set here waiting to go on and have compared the dimensions with the OEM V35 headers and aftermarket V35 headers) although they have a different stud pattern and you will need to also grab a pair of Z34/V36 catalytic converters as the flanges that attach the cats with the headers are very different on the Z34/V36.
  10. You may find these interesting Adam http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=2159 http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=2160 http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=2162
  11. Spotted a white C34 on the side of Sth Gippsland Hwy near the Tooradin airstrip yesterday morning.
  12. IF he wants it back of course. I had the option of buying my Stagea back for $5k which I declined then watched it sell for under $2k at pickles. Bargain. Could have fixed it but wanted the PM
  13. My previous M35 had around 250,000 on the clock (82,000 on it when purchased) and only had the turbo, radiator and a wheel bearing as "serious" issues prior to being written off... but that was 3 years ago (or maybe 4?).
  14. Because sometimes words are not enough
  15. I had to replace the battery on my PNM35 (2004) the day that I picked it up from the depot. Stopped in to get fuel as the tank was empty and it wouldn't start again. No issues with the transponder or anything else for that matter (I also have Nissan's security system). No need to keep power to the car. Feel free to take your time.
  16. Nope, the only time I have been singled out and pulled over I deserved it. Distant police car in the opposite lane caught me on a near-deserted road... momentarily airborn off the down side of a bridge... doing near 150kph in a 100 zone... D'oh (yes we had to be somewhere urgently, but still...)
  17. No, Japan's summers are not as hot as here and their cooler months are definitely colder than ours. Decent trans coolers (hell, even small horseshoe shaped "coolers") have been found to extend the life of markedly and IMO should be on every car - feel free to ask EF Falcon/Futura owners who have their transmissions sealed from factory. You are correct though and yes, I am a forgetful idiot. Scott's coolant bypass is without question the first thing I would install if I purchased another VQ (unless it has it from factory). VB upgrade? Nah, not that high up on the list of things to add to a fresh PNM35 although I do appreciate the improvement it makes... hell, it is still behind roughly $3-4k of mods on my list.
  18. Nice PM's guys. May I suggest that the first mod should be a transmission cooler? Leave the fun stuff until later, they need a trans cooler over here.
  19. What Dale states is correct. Nismo custom tune to the customers car (I enquired to purchase one years ago and they refused unless I could get my car to them). What are the mod differences between your car and Bricks?
  20. http://m35stagea.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=77
  21. Why not try a Nissan wrecker. Just ask them for the intake pipe of a 350z. As an aside, I have NFI why V owners get all horny over the "Z tube". Only difference is the removal of the V's intake pipe resonator.
  22. Have you tried giving Nissan a call? Just give them your VIN. Worst case either the price will be more than you want to pay or just simply won't help "because import". If they won't help, try another Nissan dealership. If you PM me your VIN, I can get you the part number if you want, that way they only have to look up pricing.
  23. I should still have a (working) VQ25det ECU in my storage area. Will look and let you know. VQ25dd and VQ35dse are no good for VQ25det
  24. Never heard of Google Translate?
  25. Doubt it. There are bag kits available for the M35 Stagea in Japan though. Best bet would be to look on Import Monster or contact Jesse Streeter
