lol @ your example and "BAM!" Tell me which engine they stroked to make 4.15L... Also, I meant landed and complied. Surely you read those Prestige emails, yes? They are the same ones I get -

Haha, sensitive. Never said it was a dollar for dollar exercise, just saying that a throwing money at an NM35 vs throwing money at a PNM35 will result in the PNM35 giving the greater performance. Yes, it will take less for the NM35 but I was referring to heavily modifying. Also, to answer your question, you should be able to get PNM35's landed for around 11k although they will be around 150,000-180,000kms old (about the same age, or younger, than most nm35's prior to the magical wind back... just without the mechanical issues ) More power would be nice though... hmm, I seem to recall saying that with the NM as well so maybe it would just be a recurring thought regardless of where my car is at lol -

Nice. Can't wait to fit my brakes. Stock PM's are just as woefully under braked as NM's -

Haha, yeah but both unmodified and lightly modified I can confirm that the series 2 is a far superior car. Only thing the series one has over it is power... but if you go into heavy modified versions of each, I would suspect that the series 2 would have it all over the series 1 there as well. -

Best bet is to drive an M35 with HICAS and then drive one without. Only way you will know whether you want it or not.
-
Carbon canister is still there, it just sits horizontally and without the bracket. V36 exhaust has massive rear mufflers and yes, the driver side one has to be "persuaded" to clear the spare wheel well lol. Also, Scott had to weld up two additional exhaust mounts to hang the driver side on. No problem with HFC's from the US. My PNM35 has G35 Berk cats which bolt straight up to the standard exhaust... they also bolt up to my V36 exhaust. NM35 cat-back exhausts will also bolt up to a series 2 Y-pipe, regardless of whether it is 2WD or AWD. As Alex said, the only thing that won't fit is the 350z/G35/V35 2WD y-pipe, so if you are looking at a US exhaust make sure it will fit on a 2003-2004 G35x. Also, forget any coupe exhaust due to the spare wheel well. If you are looking at headers, be warned that some of the 350z headers will foul on a PNM35 bodywork. You can fit them, but some will be sitting on the bodywork which is not so good considering how much the engine can move... Zees exhausts cost heaps but seem to be very good quality from everything I have read (sound good too). Probably cheaper to get someone to fabricate up some exhaust mounts to fit a V36 exhaust and purchase a V36 (or G37x compatible) exhaust if you want dual mufflers though

ECU dictates the target AFR, not whether the car has wideband o2 sensors or not. Remap for a leaner AFR would mean better economy. Nobody said that the tune has to target 14.7:1, especially if you manage a way to get a more complete and efficient combustion process...
-
Also, Alex mentioned the screen issue. Here is a simple "fix" for it... unless you want to replace the entire unit.
-
^What he said Also, high flow cats make a noticeable difference for both power and economy. Any way you can remove/minimise restrictions will net you a slight increase in power and economy. Pm35 power is good enough for normal commuting but does not have the torque that the nm35 has. Also, the 3.5 doesn't really do much below 3000rpm. It is better than the VQ25det down there, but is much more enjoyable between 3500-6000. As an ex-nm35 owner and current pnm35 owner, there is no chance I would go back... even though I do miss the torque from the turbo.

Summary Of P1-110 Of The M35 Info Uber Thread
iamhe77 replied to MrStabby's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Stock power is fine for day to day, but coming from a modded NM35 you'll probably want more. Get a trans cooler and Scott's coolant mod. You can stick with the OEM radiator without concern unless you are going to boost it of course. Also, should note that the PNM35's don't have that seemingly problematic pump for the ATTESSA. Shift kit I hear is good although they do shift noticeably better than the NM in stock form. Petrol is very slightly better although they are flash tuned if you feel the need (or want). No real "common problems". Pretty solid car all round and having owned both, can certainly say that the PM is much nicer than the NM. "If you want to keep yo keys in your pocket when start and unlock the car and have nicer interior then PNM35 is for win." I cannot stress enough how awesome it is to not have to take the keys out of your pocket... at all. External lock/unlock buttons on the front doors and hatch. Keyless ignition (although you can still put the key in if you need to). Also, PM35's look better -

Yes, except he had the silver Infiniti calipers instead of the black Nissan one's. Same-same, but different -
Did it come with the factory ECU?

That theory sounds much more logical/plausable than Microsoft trying to pull a PR stunt IMO

V35 Rwc Queries For Vicroads
iamhe77 replied to _thom_'s topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with all that has been said, I think it more comes down to where you go - both for the RWC and rego. eg, my VQ35de powered Stagea come into the country with Nismo exhaust, Bilstein suspension, K&N pod filter and Japanese snow tyres. Was pointed to a compliancer's mech they use for their RWC's and was passed without issue or any changes. VicRoads will look to see that the VIN is stamped into the strut tower and, for the most part, will overlook modifications although I don't think they will pass a carbon bonnet as it would not have met ADR for crash tests if it is Japanese made. Just depends on whom you get for the inspection I guess, but I have seen a lot of modifications go through without questioning (wheels, brakes, exhaust etc). -
Nice Look forward to seeing how this develops
