  1. I replaced my battery very early on (fog lights left on over night). I have been running a standard RACV battery for the past year and a bit with no problems (I believe they are made in Taiwan). It still shows the same voltage as when it was installed. I don't use the air-con as much as I did in the past (had it on ALL the time set at 20 degrees year round) but I certainly have my music cranked.
  2. Glad to hear it. Now just remember to take your patience and a stress ball to VicRoads.
  3. Shannons for me. Couple of speeding tickets (2) over the last 5 years. Over 30. No claims. $73 per month. Tried to see other companies, but none have come close.
  4. I could have sworn I saw a Ford RS200 in there
  5. Go to a smaller mechanic. Most will do a roadworthy. Forget larger chains, they have too many cars and not enough time to spend on something "different". I had my RWC done in Pakenham... They ONLY deal with Falcodores... But also build large capacity drag cars. They did not even know that the Stagea (any model) existed and only thought that a Skyline was either a R31 or "Godzilla". EDIT: Forgot to mention, if your pod is uncovered, it won't get passed. Put the stock box back on for your RWC.... unless you find a mech that will overlook it (doubtful).
  6. Funny... I got that same email from 3 different people....
  7. Just get your car roadworthied and make an appointment at your local VicRoads office. Take the roadworthy in to the appointment. You may need to have someone at VicRoads look at you car (I didn't, but my mate did). My car was previously registered in NSW, but my mates was not registered at all. If that is all I needed for a car that was not even on Redbook or Glasses at the time, I am pretty damn sure that your '33 will be fine. Fyi, my car went to VicRoads in Dandenong and my mates M35 was done at the Frankston office.
  8. HEY! What's wrong with "porch monkey"? I presume that you are taking it back... :laughing-smiley-014:
  9. could.... be.... waiting.... a.... while....
  10. File this under "too much information", but thinking of my Wife punching an Evo & rowing through the gears.... well.... let's just say that "it moved"
  11. Hmmm, Golf would be cool as would a mini... Service costs and vehicle price are downers though (No. She does not like the old mini's ) Also needs to have a bit of grunt (she is bored with the 165kw from the Magna ) Gotta have 4 doors and be smallish car (she loved her Mirage) Why not rwd? Since Alan put AWD ahead of all other preferences I figure it is pretty high on his list...
  12. XR6T in AWD??? You mean the turbo Territory? Yeah, my wife wants one of them... bit big though (especially since she wants to sell her Magna because of the size).
  13. umm... How about a Twin Turbo Porsche Cayenne?
  14. Welcome to the forums! Great to see more Stags in Melbourne Yeah, just a shame that the price cuts are not suspension, 'coolers etc... Anytime you guys want to get in M35 gear, I will be watching
  15. Sounds promising Ryan. Interest registered.
  16. Suits the Ministry house quite nicely I thought.
  17. I feel your pain. Start on a 45 degree angle (pointed right), slowly bring it back to 45 degree left and slowly over the top rise. I can have either my 2 dogs, or 1 passenger under 100kg in the passenger seat else I scrape exhaust tip on the bottom and the front pipe over rise (worse with 3" exhaust). If I have a car load of people, they all get turfed at the bottom and have to walk up. 40C or 14C with hail = GTFO and walk up. Part of the reason we are moving next week Even my wife's Magna has been known to scrape and we had mates who were going to back their HiLux up, but couldn't clear the towball.
  18. Yeah. Love it! News - "The price of crude oil has dropped $5" Petrol Co.'s - "Yes, we can expect the price decrease in a few weeks for the lower prices trickle through the system" News - "The price of crude oil has increased $5" Petrol Co.'s - "Yes, you can expect the price of fuel to increase immediately due to the increase in the price of oil" What can ya do? Public transport is very poor, so we need to drive. Turn to the Government? Why, when; a) the Government (regardless of which party) is partially funded by oil co.'s b) the higher the price of fuel, the more money OUR government make What a great system we have! Kinda makes you want to see a real life "Fight Club" group take on the big boys, eh? hmm, what would happen if everyone in Australia quit their jobs, went on the dole and stayed home? I do find it interesting that the price of crude oil has dropped by 2/3's but petrol has only dropped around 40% from the $1.85 we copped.
  19. Will try to get there. Need to get oil line fixed up first. Would like to see what difference the exhaust made....
  20. Search and Destroy, huh? Been listening to Metallica long?
  21. Yep. That's the way I will be going. Have heard nothing but really good things about the ZE912's
  22. Hey man, that is what makes Melbourne beautiful. We can have 4 straight days of 43 degrees book ended by 38 degree days and still be optimistic of rain at any moment!
  23. 235/50/18 sounds quite large. I don't have an Axis but the stockies on the RS are 225/45/17 and my Nismo's came with 235/40/18's. I would assume that the Nismo rims would be roughly the same as Axis stock 18's, with both being 8" wide. The calculator says that my speedo should be reading 1.4% slow, but I have found that if I sit on the speed limit, I am holding everyone up. As an aside, steer clear of Nankan and Kenda tyres. I currently have Kenda's and although they are A M A Z I N G in the wet, when the temp reaches 35 degrees, they become very soft and squishy (not fun). I would be looking at 235/45/18 or 235/40/18. The 40's will have a harder ride though.
  24. Pass. That would negate one of our more comical threads... and we wouldn't want that now, would we?
