Yes. Yes. RE Customer did mine. Had the car for a week. Took them a bit of time to figure out how to get the turbo out without dropping the engine. Turbo set me back ~$1100, then there was labour (original charge was $400, but I offered more since it took them 2 extra days, had it Dynoed and worked after hours to get it done in time for me. I believe that they send it to a workshop in Dandenong, where the original shell is fitted out with the High flowing internals. Much better than the stock item... hmmm.... yes.... better indeed. Talk to Ray, Michael or Milhouse regarding it. I am SURE they will remember doing mine.

Yeah, but why would you want to go back to RWD? 350S was AWD.

That's A Nice Looking Volvo Mate.......

Ooohhh... Touch park?? Bloody Volvo drivers -
Correct again Saint Agea. I enquired about a CarBra. They hadn't heard of my Stagea so a custom must be made up. Drive in, get measured, in a week or so you go back & hand over $550 and they give you the bra.

*ouch* Common problem TJ? Or should I call you Saint Agea??

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the Gearbox. There are more Nissan's that have a similar setup than you would think. I have just passed 140,000km's and the only drama has been the turbo/exhaust issue and the passenger wheel bearing (quickly replaced by a decent dealership). Depends on what you want to do to it. If you want to leave the car pretty stock (maybe add an exhaust), I don't think you will have many troubles. They are a really well put together car overall. However, I would imagine that if want to go for say, 300awkw, you may find a few issues. I would like to see 230-250awkw reliably out of mine at some point and don't think that is unreasonable. Thing is, nobody has really pushed these things. I think NRVOUS is "dipping his foot", as am I to some extent (albeit quite slowly) to see what these things can do. I do think they have a fair amount of potential though.

I drive about the same distance, hills, 100, 80, 60 & 40kph zones, have just cleared 140,000km's. Used Motul 8100 about 30,000km's ago. Car did not feel right. When I used the Motul engine flush at time of change (which I had done before putting the 8100 in, there was a smelly, burned "mass" of oil that came out. I switched to Chrono 300V which has been MUCH better than the other oils I have tried (Shell Helix Ultra, Mobil 1, Amsoil - 10W40, Penrite Sin - WAAAY too thick, Castrol Edge) I change oil and filter every 10,000km's. You shouldn't have to change oil every 5000km's for your daily unless you are doing a bit of circuit work as well. I also use Amsoil or K&N oil filters.

Enjoy your new car Alan! -
The fuel economy figures can be found earlier in this thread, please have a read, plenty of other info in this thread too! The M35's a very reliable. That said, they do have a ceramic wheel turbo which can let go if the exhaust does not flow well enough. There are 2 that I know of on these boards that have had turbo's replaced (mine being one of them). Running costs are generally very good. I do service mine every 10,000kms and use expensive fluids, so I suppose in that respect they cost more (If I had a falcodore, I would not care what was put in it, but because I love my cars, I would never have a falcodore in the firs pace!). You can have them serviced at a decent dealership if that is what you are inclined to do and they cost no more than a Maxima. People seem to think that because it is an import, they cost more to run, and something I am trying to drill into my brother's head, but this is not the case... unless you are talking about weather deflectors!

So possibly the S2 260RS has them then?
-
and for we VIC owners... How often would it need to be re-tuned?
-
Can not tell you for sure, but I can faintly remember reading that Consult 3 is OBD compliant. Consult 2 works on NM35's, Consult 1 does not. I do not know about Consult 3, but I hazard a guess that it would be fine if your dealerships over there use it.

I don't know why everyone is saying Vista is so bad. Are you guys using Vista 32 or 64? I have found that Vista 32 is pretty slow on the work Laptop, but 64 is damn quick on my home PC. I have no program compatibility problems with Vista 64 and it runs a hell of a lot faster than XP (32bit) did (XP 64bit was not usable). Anyway, if Windows 7 is all they are saying it will be (where have I heard that before?), then it will probably be worth the upgrade over Vista64.

Yeah but try the 1976 Le Mans track. Like driving those straights, only made of cobblestone with a serious crosswind!!!! If GT had semi-accurate car damage, I would be interested. Let's hope!

EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!! Get you NM35 elsewhere Alan! -
Yeah, I saw that story last night when I dropped by my parent's place. He was estimated to be driving at 30-40kph. I ask again.... Does speed really kill? or is it more to do with Driver skill? Brandy Creek Rd was where john and the other dude were caught. working link here: http://www.theage.com.au/national/cops-tak...90106-7amr.html Check it out on Google Maps. He was north or Warragul, not near the estates. Incidentally, if you follow that road onto the Warragul-Kooroomburra Rd, you will find one of the more enjoyable roads to drive in VIC (not on a rainy day though) Another question; If John Belfield was 25 years old, in a modified import (GTi-R) and doing 170kph in a 110 zone. Would he have been given his car back for $600?

Mods: HiFlow turbo standard dump (includes pre-cat) 3" Kakimoto front pipe (de-cat) 3" Fujitsubo Legalis R I wish I had all dyno figures for you but after the hiflow was installed, boost was intentionally limited because of the crap restrictive exhaust which was still on. Power was 140awkw @ 3200 rpm. Max boost was 0.8bar. With the exhaust, it still boosts to 0.8bar @ 3200, but max boost now is 1bar (or higher, my gauge only goes to 1bar) @ 3800 and there is a heap more power. Yet to get Dyno figures... Sorry. Just to let you know, my mate has; Fuji Legalis cat-back Standard turbo Standard Dump ARC intercooler My car just pulls away from his. The ARC cooler is very nice, but the stock cooler can quite easily deal with 1bar boost it seems.

Sooooo, basically a 78yo skilled driver was traveling at 170kms on a winding road? Damn man! There must have been death everywhere!! Speed does kill after all.... or does it? Maybe it has more to do with driver skills no? I love how angry Brumby is, guess there will be permanent speed cameras mounted there too since it is such a "dangerous" stretch of road?

Better make that clear for others mate. Difficult to let others know when you are the one lying there. Nice idea though... I think that I would like to be cremated and then have the m35 rear window viewing showing only an Urn. No pictures. Just the Urn.

That is some pretty skilled Photoshopping! Your work TJ? Yes it looks ugly, but I couldn't care less if I had a wagon with similar lines and the same running gear as the R35 GTR I honestly don't think I could stop giggling like a school girl if I owned something like that! heh, would give the dog's stabilizers an even harder workout than they already get!!!

I did not notice any wiring for an amp when I was installing the PA11-NIS. Having said that, the stock unit can get quite loud without any distortion - so perhaps I missed it? There are no RCA jacks in the stock unit. However, if you grab a PA11-NIS, not only can you play/charge your ipod but it also has L/R RCA jacks. btw, why is it that the day I go to install my ipod the G35ipod site was down? Murphy's Law I suppose

Is that so? Machine Head, Pantera, Metallica (old obviously), Tool, Disturbed, Slayer, Black Tide are part of my ipod playlist atm...

Any Reece store will carry Norma in most sizes. You should be able to do better than that online store in regards to price on the Heavy Duty clamps (the one in your pic). (I used to work at a couple of Reece Irrigation branches) *EDIT* I have just spoken with a friend who still works there. If you guys want some, I can get them for ya. PM for prices for both sizes (not including shipping)

Agreed. The black & white photo looks fantastic! Congrats Janene. Great to see something different for a wedding.
