    From the album: My NM35

  2. I guess I didn't touch enough wood (refrain from the "wood" jokes). The shuddering is back again this morning but only for a short time. ....Frustrating as all hell. Nobody seems to know what it is. Will check tonight IF I get time & daylight (unlikely). Quick question, if air was being pushed back into the turbo when lifting off the accelerator, would it make a noise or shudder? (just a theory a friend of mine had).
  3. I would be interested as well... Just no need to shell out at the moment to find out though. What exhaust do you have? How was the cat installed? I ask because the factory cat looks like it is part of the dump instead of bolted on. I was making 140awkw @ 10psi with a compliance exhaust and high flow turbo. Since my boost gauge was working last night (bloody tepremental thing) I thought I would give it a quick blast to see if the boost has increased... It definately has. The needle flicked up to 100kpa when under full throttle. Since the gauge only goes up to 1 bar, I can only assume that it is boosting a little higher...
  4. I think that the front pipe is what makes mine sound different. It is probably a bit louder next to the car than behind it when idling. I suppose that it can be a little dronie inside. I have noticed it a couple of times when I don't have the stereo playing, but it is not something that is really a problem. If you listen to music/radio while driving, even on low volume, you wouldn't notice it. Sounds great in car when idling, reversing, driving at about 1700rpm, or when opened up. It seems that the more revs you give it (from about 2k), the quieter it gets. I know that without the Kakimoto front pipe, you cannot hear a thing inside the car... I will have to check what front pipe my mate has on his.
  5. Not sure what I (we) have on this Friday, but sounds good... See if I can grab a couple of mates too (NM35 & V35)...
  6. Hey guys, Had my Legalis exhaust and Kakimoto front pipe fitted (FINALLY!) on Saturday. The wait was killing me, but you can't really argue with $1650 supplied and fitted. It sits a tad lower on my car, about 10mm - and for those exhaust lovers, it looks awesome Sounds a bit deeper than my mates although not louder - for those of you that got the clip. Makes a TON of difference with the power delivery... Full boost is later in the Rev range (around 3,800rpm), although I have a sneaking suspicion that it is much higher than 10psi and goes strong right up to redline, doesn't seem to taper off at all (and it gets there easily too.... maybe a bit too easily) The car really seems to make effortless power now. A good example is a hill I have in the way to work, it comes downhill into a sweeping left hander at the bottom, then climbs up at about 40 degrees for around 200m then tapers off for a further 200(ish)m at roughly 30 degrees... I always come out of the corner and hit the incline at ~90kph In the past, I would reach the 30 degree part, I would have to gradually add throttle and the car would have to shift gear to make sure that I was still doing 50kph at the top. This morning I took the corner at 90kph as usual, but I didn't have to add throttle to make it all the way up! I was also doing 65kph when I hit the top of the hill. Just fantastic. (I just hope that made sense ) I would be interested to get it on the Dyno to see how much of an improvement over the previous 140awkw it has made... But I think it will have to wait until after the wedding.

  8. Is your car still shuddering? I had a wheel alignment when I got my LMX5's last month which did not help the situation. I took it to Nissan who put their "magical" satchel in when they did a full service on the transmission, snappier gear change but no change to shuddering. Nissan also did an ECU reset, again, no change to shuddering. Frustrating! Anyway, I had my exhaust & front pipe installed on Saturday and also changed the spark pugs. The shudder seems to have gone completely, even when cruising at 130kph for half an hour! Don't know which one fixed it (touch wood), but it has definately settled down (not to mention become MUCH more lively and quite a bit quicker ).
  9. So you want a car that looks like an Axis & handles like an Axis? Why don't you just get an Axis then? You can get all the luxury trimmings of an AR-X in an Axis.
  10. I have seen them on Import Monster from time to time as a book or as a CD. CD would be good. You could just copy to HDD & use the translator in word.
  11. Easy fix for your pokemon blues... Get a pair of series 2 m35 headlights. ...Yummo! (Just don't ask Nissan to get you a set of Xenon's... or if you want a laugh... ask away!)
  12. $3,500? Yep! The 350z Platinum is a replacement ECU for (obviously) the 350z. It needs to be used as a piggyback for the m35 to keep the popup screen among other things. They said that the Interceptor and the E11v2 cannot be used on the m35 for whatever reason. This is from the email when I was still searching for an exhaust and ECU install. "Ok, Transport can be between $400 and $500 each way. Front pipe $500 with cat in 2 1/2 inch, 3 inch with High flow metal cat $800, am waiting on a price for the exhaust, no charge to fit it. ECU fitted, wired and tuned $3500. The High flow turbo on the stagea renderers it a little lagy, we can tune around it to some degree but we can run as much boost as you like depending on the results you would like" Maybe it is just because I am not local... Who knows? I would be interested to know which ECU they are fitting for $1200. As well as the results you get.
  13. I do believe that there is a company in Sydney which have (and recommend) using the Haltec 350z Platinum as a piggyback for the m35. The guy I spoke to said that they raised power and the owner is very happy with the new fuel consumption Unfortunately, he did not tell me the numbers that were achieved. The down side is that the 350z Platinum is a $2000 unit and he quoted me $3500 for the install & tune . Not only that but my car would have had to be shipped as well *OUCH* I will be going with the Emanage Ulimate soon and will share results when I have them, but would be VERY interested to see your results (if memory serves, a 3" turbo back & a boost controller, yes?).
  14. Dunno bud, probobly nothing more than heat tollerance. I may just be paranoid ... I presume that you have had no issues with your car (?) All I know is that; 1. Different Nissan dealers give me part numbers for different plugs. 2. The guy who has been complying the M35's for the longest period of time wanted me against using any other Nissan/NGK spark plug to the one I specified earlier. 3. The Denso Iridium plugs have a 150,000km lifespan, supposedly outperform any platinum on the market and cost around $16 each including GST & delivery. 4. NGK are probably the least helpful group of people I have ever tried to deal with. *sigh* since I don't really need them now, and after reading all that I have, I will probably get the Denso plugs and wait the 3 months.
  15. You would think so wouldn't you? Instead of being able to find anything in the book for Denso plugs (I was calling up about plugs for an EVO9 as they use the same plugs as my m35), I was offered a set of NGK 1GR78-G plugs... Platinum... at $53.40 EACH!!!!! This from an authorised RalliArt dealer! It would also seem that Nissan Japan are out of the Plugs that Tony specified and do not have a restocking ETA. Looks like I have a 3 month wait ahead of me, DAMNIT!
  16. Hey guys, Denso have Irigium spark plugs for VQ25det. I have been speaking to a guy there about ordering some in through Denso themselves - which they "don't normally do". I have been quoted $13.50 + GST per plug, $16.50 shipping for a total of $97.50. They also have a lifespan of 150,000km's. Part #IKH22 The only downsides are money up front & there is a 3 month wait for their next order. If anyone is interested in getting a set, send me a PM. As an aside the EVO9 shares the same plug and Denso supply OE to Mitsubishi, so there might actually be some in the country.
  17. Would you happen to know the kit number for the RS Four?
  18. Can't wait Then all I need are english buttons...
  19. hmm.... I have seen that the bilstein kit will cost me $1600+ to get via import monster or slidewize. The local Bilstein distributors are not much help either ("a nissan WHAT? Never heard of it."). If you guys got yours through a distributor, who was it & what are the details of your kit? I am also curious to know more about the HKS Hipermax LS+ kit. Anyone know anything abou these? Cheers guys.
  20. I am interested to see how you go as I am looking at an Emanage Ultimate for my car also. Have spoken and prices sound reasonable.. Will work with LiLPG conversion as well! Can you get "before and after" Dyno printouts?
  21. Hey Andy, who did you get your Bilstein kit through?
  22. Don't know if you guys have your exhausts yet but... After negotiating an absolute bargain M35 for my mate, it arrived this morning... WITH A FUJI LEGALIS FITTED! Sounds fantastic, nice quiet deep burble on idle and a very nice sound when opened up - only a fraction louder than the stock exhaust. I took a quick vid with my digital camera but I am having trouble uploading for some reason. It is pretty average quality but if you want me to send you the file, PM me your email address & I will send it tonight.
  23. Thanks guys. Actually, after the first "big name/rip off" workshop farted around with it for 2 days (and tried to bill me a rediculous amount of money for removing the front pipe), I decided to take it to RE Customs (who were very good with the car and have excellent customer service). Brad & Michael got the turbo out without removing the engine and sent it iff to have it hi-flowed. All steel internals used (T3 core) and it has not missed a beat since. Just to let you know, the turbo shed some unwanted ceramic and needed new internals possibly due to the overly restrictive nature of the "compliance" exhaust which came on the car. The exhaust has had no less than 4 cats removed from it (the factory cat is the only one to stay)! Can't wait for my Fuji exhaust.... any day now
