  1. for shizzle - the temp here during the day is almost a quarter of what it was over there....but on the other hand it is turbo weather!!!
  2. If you get really stuck let me know and I can have a look at it - blocking off the blow off valves will not hurt your turbos - but given the fact I am 95% sure it is an intercooler pipe leak, blocking them off should make zero difference to the way it drives. By doing it though, you do eliminate them as the cause :-) and yep, I'm back and Adelaide is bloody cold........
  3. You'll find the boost leak is in the intercooler pipes somewhere - the AVCR is still programmed to run 1.1 bar or whatever you have set - so it is, albeit at the engine. In actual fact your turbos are probably running a shaft speed equivalent to a lot more boost, and the 'excess' boost pressure is being bleed off through the boost leak in your intercooler pipes or somewhere between your turbo outlet and engine inlet. My bet is where the intercooler pipes go down and through the inner passenger side guard just after the Y pipe.
  4. yeah its been a while! Think I might be adding a rare blend of E85 shortly too - but for the immediate future, track day 1st August.....
  5. Hi guys - can you put me on the reserve list? Not sure if I'll be here yet but if I am and there is a spot I wouldn't mind whacking the old girl on the rollers.
  6. Depending on the severity of the mechanical dis-symphony - you'll have bearing material through your turbo bearings too. Make sure you fully clean out your oil coolers etc of any bearing material - it gets everywhere, trust me been there got the t-shirt.
  7. I won't be there either Jumping on the 'I won't be there' bandwagon (Doesn't it say who is coming??)
  8. Matty - PM sent
  9. You can absolutely remove engine without PS or Aircon - ie leave it hanging in the engine bay. No need to drain, bleed or gas.
  10. Dan - I confirmed the settings as posted above. The car still has an open wheel front diff, but with a proper track orientated wheel alignment, corner weighting and the 4wd controller it is very neutral on the circuit. So far PB at Mallala of 1:17 but it now has new semis, new DMS suspension and adjustable sway bars, and of course 50kw more at the wheels than when it ran that time. Heading out this sunday to stir up the porsche club, i'll let you know how it goes. The standard gear ratios are starting to sh@t me at Mallala, close ratio should make a fair difference
  11. anyone keen to come and check out the porsche club super sprint on sunday at mallala? I've entered the GTR to rev up the porsche guys....
  12. Hi Dan! I use mine on the same setting I think for dry track work - will confirm tomorrow but it drives very nicely with this setting and 400kw at the wheels.
  13. Chad and Dale on the track - and a little one of me in the superkart. When I grow up I definately want one....
  14. Looks like I wasn't out at this day - but trust me I was there! It was a good chance to shakedown the GTR for the impending Porsche Super Sprint day I've entered this weekend. Probably a good thing I did too - blew a brake line on the pit straight just like the winfield gtr did on its debut!! Was a little difficult to pick the pace to ensure a >1:20 lap - and I failed at least once (black flagged!) but once I got into it it was great fun. Just braking early and no boost plus slowing on the start finish straight until over the line did it. Recommend these days to anyone and anycar - the dial your own lap time means laptimes don't matter, consistency is what counts. Can't wait for Sunday now - fixing the brake problem at the moment, and a little oil cooler setup mod to help with the temp control and I'll be out. Oh - and you can do parade (passenger) laps at the porsche days.........shall we start the bidding????
  15. see you tomorrow peoples - 25 and cool for boosting!!
  16. Well boys and girls, the GTR is trailered up and ready to go. Gonna have to keep a keen eye on the times, but tomorrow will serve as a shakedown on the new sus and setup for next sunday (porsche club super sprint). Usual meeting spot - LEAVING at 7 am (ie get there a few minutes early for the hearty breakfast!). Dale - leave earlier, it is not 5 minutes to everywhere in Adelaide from your place........
  17. 41.5 degrees at 0930 this morning at mallala........my car is loving my decision to let it sleep in right now
  18. Mallala weather forecast
  19. I think I will be doing something very similar there Dale. I have found the forecast for Mallala stating min 24 max 40, NW winds (hot) backing to SW (cooler) by 3 pm, and 50% chance of rain <1mm. I don't want to give everyone false hope of a cooler day, but for me the car will be packed ready to roll and decision made at 7 am in consult with a quick actual condition update via the weather pages.
  20. modern reg the fastest you are allowed to run is 1:20, sorta counts me out - i'm still gonna head out on Saturday. It is supposed to have a milder change during the afternoon (the earlier the better!)
  21. I have mine off - keep the coil pack area cooler which will only help the efficiency of the coils and hopefully prevent them from overheating and then failing. WRT temps on the day - we are due for a change, if it is 30 I think I'll still be there :-) It'll be cooler in the morning and later in the afternoon.
  22. Thanks Steve - PM sent
  23. I am keen to enter this one - PM details when available please
  24. No dramas - I am really looking forward to this day. Get to test out the new set up......
  25. Sat Feb 7th: 26 degrees and mostly sunny 10 day forecast for Adelaide
