  1. Yes, it's normal, unless you're not getting any boost even at second or third gear.
  2. get a turboback exhaust system?
  3. Different wiring. I did an engine conversion on my R33, and now it has an RB25DET NEO in. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...amp;pid=2702999 If you want details, you probably can call Mercury Motorsport at 1300 558 650 to find out more; they did my conversion just a few weeks back.
  4. My car took 30 litres of V-Power to travel 190km, which is about 15.79L/100km. 3/4 city driving and 1/4 highway. Normal driving without much boosting/quick acceleration/etc, but I had to go up quite a lot of steep slopes and idle for quite some time (5-10 mins) occasionally. Mods: RB25DET NEO, Spitfire coil packs, Apexi AFC NEO, FMIC, boost controller. Probably this is the reason why it's so high...
  5. If i were you, i'll sell the GTS and get a GTS-T.Cheaper than a conversion and probably more power for the money spent as well.
  6. thanks ^_^

    Is This Legal

Wait, i don't get it. An FMIC would be legal if and only if there isn't an aftermarket pod fitted? Victoria sux~!
  8. If you're just looking for power, the R32 GTR beats the R33 GTS-T and R34 GT-T hands down. But the reason why i would recommend the R34 is because it is a car with better handling, more safety features, higher resale value, better fuel economy and doesn't cost a bomb to maintain; it's still relatively new, so the parts aren't about to wear off anytime soon unless you trash it. By the way, the R32 GTR is rated at 206kw as well (capped like the R34 due to restrictions), but it has much more potential if you plan to modify it. I would suggest that you test drive all three cars and see which one you'll like.

Yea.. i would think so..? 15mm long and 25mm wide seems like from the side and not from the center.

They probably defected you on clause "a": "(a) consist of a steady or flashing illuminated yellow sign at least 15cm long and 25mm wide that—" Your front ones are really small! Probably time to take out a ruler and start measuring. *damn* i don't know if mine is even 15cm long! Who has 15cm long indicators anyway?? Or is it 15mm and a typo? Ah... cops. I hate the coppers here. It's amazing how many idiots form the rank and file in the armed forces anywhere in the world.

I would say it's: "(d) when in operation, be visible from both the front and rear of the vehicle at a distance of 30m." Try standing in front of the vehicle 30m away and see if you can spot your indicator when it's on. Go to bed already! Weekends are meant for catching up on sleep!

"(b) be fitted to the side of the vehicle at least 50cm and not over 2.1m above ground level, in a position so at the driver of the vehicle, from the normal driving position, can see whether the signal is in operation; and" By "the side of the vehicle", i would assume that it's referring to the one i circled in yellow instead; at least 50cm from the ground level, and less than 2.1m from the ground level. (i.e. measured vertically, as seen by yellow arrow). The one with the red arrow is applicable only to clause "d", because it's fitted to the front of the vehicle, and not the side?
  14. Why not the R34 GT-T? It's a much better car when compared to the R34 and 33, and you should be able to get a decent one if you're not planning to mod it.
  15. Finally got back my car a few days ago, and was driving it around. The following were already fitted before the conversion: XForce turboback exhaust system The following things were then put on: RB25DET NEO engine transplant Spitfire coil packs Apexi AFC Neo, RSM Trust VSPL intercooler Greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller As far as the engine conversion is concerned, it appears that these two engines are really quite different, so it involves quite a fair bit of re-wiring, a new crank angle sensor and a few other things which i can't remember. As Arteyu has pointed out, it is quite a different engine, and contrary to popular belief, it's not just the cam heads which are different. However, you can continue to use the R33's ECU. The guys at Mercury Motorsport did the changeover and tuning, and the power jumped from 141kw to 205.8kw. If anyone is interested in doing this, you might want to give them a call at 1300 558 650 to find out more. Car's pretty responsive. No complains so far, and they did a pretty good job IMHO.
  16. I have, but good feedback involving auto transmissions and PFCs are few and far between. The vast majority of them are bad, and i have felt the difference first-hand when i drove an auto with a PFC. It might have worked with your car, but it didn't with a lot of other people. The PFC's discontinued anyway... isn't it time to move on with technology?
  17. Being an auto r33 gts-t owner myself, i have asked myself the very same qn you're asking yourself now a few weeks ago. After quite an extensive amount of reading up and asking around, i have found out that: If your car is an auto, it's best that you keep your stock ECU unless you want to trash your transmission, or do a manual conversion. No exceptions. Piggy back systems are the only way out for us, and seeing that the PFC is already discontinued, i would seriously recommend that you get Apexi's new product, the P-NBC, rather than go for something obsolete. Details: http://www.apexera.co.jp/carlife/pro_apexi...ics/P-NBC1.html In case you can't read japanese, it supposedly takes the advantages of the AFC and PFC and places it into one product. By the way, if you're going to go for an AFC, the SAFC2 by apex'i is also a discontinued product. Go for the AFC Neo instead. I fitted my car with an AFC Neo and an RSM a few days before i found out that the P-NBC is released... *sigh*
  18. 1996 R33 S2 GTS-T. Mods: RB25DET engine transplant from R34 Spitfire coil packs Apexi AFC Neo, RSM Trust VSPL intercooler Greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller XForce turboback exhaust
  19. According to what I have read so far, misfiring can shorten the turbocharger's life drastically (damage to the turbine blades) and place the entire exhaust system in shock.. it doesn't sound very good.
  20. Yea. Apparently the bearings inside my current engine wore out and i either rebuild it or i change the engine. There was this dull, thudding sound coming from the engine which increases with the RPM... I havent even done anything to the car yet =_=
  21. Still looking for one around the price range of $200. Depending on the condition, I might be willing to go up to an absolute maximum of $250 including shipping.
  22. bought.
  23. There might be one, but i can't find it... anyone knows? From what i heard, i can continue to use my current ECU from my R33, but we'll see..
