  1. Hi again, can someone help me check this chassis number: CR33-106201 Thanks in advance!
  2. Yea, maybe I should just look around (I've waited 23 years actually!) I'm located in Brisbane too! But 13k for an auto 4-door R33 is kinda steep unless it's modded... and some lady drivers I know of drive even faster than guys! I've found a 13.5k stock auto coupe, but the owner said there's some rattling at the rear, so I'm not very optimistic about it (unless it's just a few bolts loose). Do you still have the 4-door R33's contact?
  3. thanks guys ^_^ going to check them out. i am currently considering a 13.5k auto coupe series 2 but i haven't inspected it yet...
  4. nice~! but yea... too far away, sadly. btw, check your pm ^_^
  5. It looks good to me, but sedans are apparently very hard to resell, if you're thinking of reselling it in the near future. The one i'm looking at apparently had no viewers for 6 weeks and I'm the first to look at it =_=
  6. Wow, that is quite steep actually (at least to me). What year is it, and where're you located? Any mods?
  7. Yes, it is. At least it is to me. 11k and faultless? Spotless? Everything working?
  8. Hmm~ yea, i agree that both cars aren't exactly very good... I'm sending the sedan for an inspection at a workshop though. Hopefully nothing big comes up, but I'm not very optimistic about the HICAS. I've just found a 13.5k auto coupe which the owner says is in excellent condition (don't they all!)... maybe I'll take a look at that one ^_^
  9. I'm looking for a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T Series II with: - Automatic Transmission (Manual ones may be considered) - Modifications optional. I don't mind if it's stock but it'll better be cheaper than one with mods. - Mileage preferably below 150,000km - Price range about 11k for sedan and around 13k for coupe. Price may go a bit higher if there are modifications done to it, but it depends on what mods they are, and the condition of the vehicle. - Preferably in excellent condition (means, no faults whatsoever, or just minor faults). If there are any faults on the car, please state them so that we don't need to waste 2 hours to find out something you already know like the back of your hand. I'm located in Brisbane, QLD, but if it is a good offer, I am willing to consider cars which are located further away. Of course, if you can drive down to Brisbane City, I don't mind paying a bit for fuel. Comments/suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :sorcerer: Edit: Bought!
  10. Hmm.. i'll think about it. It's hard to find a cheap and good car *sighh*
  11. Thanks so much!
  12. Hi, can someone help me check this chassis number? ECR33-102646 The build plate looks like this: What do you think could have caused the plate to be like this? Thanks in advance!
  13. Yea, i'm new to this (it's my first car actually!), and i'm intending to take car #1 it to a mechanic maybe next week. I can understand why #2's bad, but why not #1? I don't think the repairs will be expensive, will it? By the way, dyno graph for car #1 is below. I was *this* close to buying car #1 until i came here.. ^_^"
  14. Okay here's the problem: I have shortlisted 2 R33 GTS-25Ts, 1 sedan, 1 coupe, and both have auto transmissions. Car #1 (sedan) Faults: 1) Rear seat belts clips are facing the wrong direction. Seat belts look too new for 5 year old. 2) Air con vents don't close fully. 3) Left side mirror doesn't fold in. 4) HICAS diagnostics show an error code of #21: Vehicle Speed Sensor not present. (Could it be because the speed limiter on the ECU was removed?) 5) Alarm doesn't work sometimes. 6) Car steering wheel pulls to the left even on a straight road. But, it doesn't vibrate even at 100km/h. Note: The log books are missing! All minor maintenance such as oil changes are supposedly done by the owner himself. Major servicing such as replacement of timing belt done at a non-nissan service centre. Car modifications: Nismo speedometer, Turbo Timer, D2 adjustable suspension, Spitfire coils, exhause changed from turbo-back, ECU changed and car tuned on a dyno. Edit: Dyno results here: Auto sedan going for 12k (or 11.5k w/o the D2 suspensions). Car #2 (coupe) Faults: 1) Left side mirror doesn't fold in. 2) Air con not working (apparently, it needs gas). 3) Small dent and scratch on left side of car. 4) Boot doesn't open with the key. 5) Right front speaker not working. 6) A bit of black smoke present when revving engine at neutral. 7) Spare tyre area might have been repaired. 8) Transmission slips a bit. 9) No alarm system at all. 10) Not really a fault, but there's no turbo timer installed. Car modifications: Apparently, it hasn't been modified before and everything is stock. Going for 11.5k. I can tell that Car #1 is better maintained then #2. Which one would you get, and why? I'm torn between these two options... what would it cost to repair them?
  15. Okay, here it is: Chassis Number: ECR33-102646 I'm attaching a photo of the build plate. It is badly scratched or something, and the owner doesn't know why. Edit: I've found out what the car is already. Thanks anyway ^_^
  16. Ah.. thanks so much! Where can I find the chassis code? I'm seeing the car again in a few hour's time. Is it the engine number? Edit: Never mind. I found out where it is.
  17. Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and I thank you all for providing such great tips and advice on how to purchase a good car. I have seen a very clean R33 GTS-25T, excellent condition and all, but I suddenly discovered that the VIN on that car is NOT issued by Nissan! How I found out: http://www.analogx.com/CONTENTS/vinview.htm The Nissan VIN format can be found here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/specs/vin.html According to the car's VIN, it is manufactured in Australia by a limited production company (less than 500 vehicles) in 1996 (the year's correct, by the way). As far as I know, all Skylines in Australia are imported from Japan. See also Sec. 565.4a: http://www.is-it-a-lemon.com/vin_check/requirement.htm What is this all about??? Can someone check their Skyline's VIN and see if it complies to Nissan's format? I don't want to purchase a re-birthed car... By the way, that VIN in question starts with 6T9.
